I made a mini goedendang from a BMX stunt peg, a construction nail and a 35mm ash dowel offcut. Throws beautifully but an advanced throwing item as you have to be absolutely perfect in you distance and techniques
Adam, can you make like 1 hour or longer podcast with Master Jakub about japanese weapons and culture? Why katana got so popular and not other japanese weapons, what martial arts samurai used what was their purpose, who were ninjas, who were shoguns, emperors and so on. There is so much to learn and the ideas that we get from popular culture are mostly fake or not comppetely correct. Mr Jakub is incredibly knowledgeable and it would be interesting to have a chance to ask him questions in a life podcast.

Sorry to disappoint Master Jakub, but the secret forgotten ninja "arrow in a tube" technique was rediscovered by my friends and I during a summer of boredom in '04
Hey Adam, can you get some ka bar throwing knives and review them please? I have a set and I think they're ok. But I want to know what the world champion thinks.
I've messed around with a throwing string that you wrap around the arrow and throw it with extra grip and force of finger and string but never tried that tube method. It seems like it would be very effective with minimal effort on reload and very consistent in usage! Gonna make one now lol thanks for the content and inspiration

I could see the Kan Uchiya as a good ambush weapon where you have a ranged attack then a melee weapon on you. Would be cool to see it used in an RPG or video game.
Reminds me of back as a kid we had the yard game "Jarts" which the original ones were lead and steel tipped with a large dart cross wings fletching that was made of plastic and it had a extention from the back which was like a rod and could be used as a handle to throw the Jart as that seemed the best way to get the best finesse on it and leverage of power to the throw. Ya could really fling them pretty far and i always thought on a way to take the game design and modify it into a weapon. Even as a little kid with not practicing every day throwing them, it didnt take much using them to be fairly accurate with them. Imagine if ya practiced daily throwing them, they could be a deadly weapon.

Master throws with less muscle but much more power focused on the target and his motion is very In balance. He has actually more power than Adam
yeah, he was throwing that arrow like it was nothing, just simple and elegant movement without power :-)
