Although I’ve paused the video plenty of times to see how exactly you have it all set up, I’d love a breakdown of it all. I plan on doing this set up at home. Great video! Thanks for all the great tips
Brilliant video, definitely confirms that I’d like to upgrade to the GF when I love house at the end of the year. I love the way you have it all wall mounted I think it looks great! One thing that seems to counter what I’ve seen elsewhere though; whilst recirculating the wort through the chiller to sanitise it. Should you also have the cold water supply on at this point to begin chilling? Otherwise aren’t you firing hot wort straight in to the fermenter? Cheers.
Most informative grainfather video yet.. just one question. When you connecting the pump to the chiller and started pumping it straight into the fermenter before you turned the cold water on. wouldnt the hot wort already be going into the fermenter? i fort you had to turn the water on and pump it through the grainfather a couple of times to bring it down a bit before you actually move to fermeneter.
Depending on the temperature and flow of the cooling water, it might be possible to start right away and cool down the warmer wort that collects the in fermenter in the beginning with wort that's a bit cooler than target temperature afterwards. Would take some experience, but doable imho.
@@samwalley Yes they have heating and if you ream up with a glycol chiller you have plug and play temperature control. www.themaltmiller.co.uk/product/grainfather-conical-fermenter-pro-wifi-controller/
I really love your setup against the wall with sparge water and cooler mounted, plumbing sorted, and hooks for convenience. Great innovation
Good run through of hire to use the GF30. Thank you.
Also sounds like an interesting brew. One for autumn! 😊

When you say the Heating element is sealed, does that mean if the element fails the unit is no good.

The hot wort first of all goes back into the grainfather itself, when you start putting into the FV then I put the cold water on to start chilling it.

What fermenter are you using?
Here we are using the Grandfather Conical Fermenters. We have a few set up to brew on and also for customers to see, in normal times! 👍🏻
@@themaltmiller8438 do you sell them? Do they have temp control?

Great setup and video! What type of hose is necessary to extend the inlet of the counterflow chiller like that?
Here you go www.themaltmiller.co.uk/product/grainfather-silicone-hose-300mm/
Thanks! What's the diameter on that?
How long is the boil? Thanks in advance.
Do you have the recipe? I would just buy it from the website but it’s sold out

What's the music for?
The music is just to irritate, also to drown out the commentary. Otherwise, an excellent video.
milkshakes and peanut butter NOT BEER ...
