This is the absolute best Godzilla game we ever received. Everything about this game just surpassed the previous iteration, the monsters, the stages, the music. If we can just go back to this style of gameplay for a Godzilla game (Godzilla vs Kong: Monsterverse Battle ? ) it would be amazing

War Of The Monster was such an incredibly fun game. It's crazy, I remember picking out that game as a kid at GameStop and it was only like $5. It wasn't even my first choice, I just grabbed it with another game because it was cheap. Had no idea how fun it was gonna be. I don't even remember that other game I got along with it lmao. This Godzilla game and WOTM were so much fun on PS2. All-time favorites for sure.
Ran into War of the Monsters on a demo collection i got for my birthday. Played it to death. Didnt get the full game til the PS4 re-release. I consider it a part of the Godzilla series of games starting with Destroy All Monsters Melee and ending with the PS4 Godzilla.

They should really bring back this style of play for a Godzilla brawler, with super smash Bros type roster to bring monsters/characters from the different eras and shows. I'd love to play as ultra-man and fight all these monsters. A fan can dream ...
I grew up with the ps2 versions of STE and Unleashed. It needs to make a come back and remastering with more monsters, more stages,more modes and movie accurate sound effects if they are able to get around Toho's and Japanese companies in general strict copyright laws.

This was the best Godzilla game I just wish that Pipeworks didn't make unleashed a Wii exclusive game the motion control was horrible they should have just continued with the other consoles and just copy save the earth's game mechanics but with more monsters to play with and maps plus a enjoyable story mode
A video game company out there absolutely has to make another combat-centric Godzilla game like this one. With multiplayer, improved hardware, and the newfound Battle Royale craze of the past few years, a quality Godzilla game like this would absolutely KILL in this current market. I think it would be so much more popular than people realize. There is a real demand for it. There's a lot of untapped potential. Like, imagine a battle royale mode, let's say 20+ people in one lobby, in a Godzilla game. Much bigger maps, much more variety, more creative environments, and even more narrative choices, like have a mode where you can either be a monster or a human character. Even implement a lot of the mini-games that are in this game but on a bigger scale. There is just so much.
Anyone notice that some of the building's light's turns off when the Kaiju monsters gets dropped down or use some of their abilities? I'm just amazed that an old school game have soo much details for it.
if unleashed had kept this exact engine for mechanics and all that with just critical mass plus the better models and graphics it would've been great. unfortunately they didn't so this gets my pick for best godzilla game in existence still.
I find it interesting that this game's "Godzilla 90's" model looked more like Final Wars Goji. ( the breath sfx and charging looked like Final Goji's too )

Just feels empty otherwise, maybe some/more close range mechanics unless that’s there already, as monsters would wrestle 1 another, that sort or mechanic(s). Everything I’ve seen these days, newer devs, a bit mediocre. Just saying.
