Awesome! I thought I would be happy with the magnifier with light set up, but this microscope looks great!
Thanks! It seems to be really helpful for filming up close too!
Great call on investing in a microscope!
Indeed, it’s surprisingly useful!
Nice job on the repair but man, you need to take that thing back out and fix those R101, R89, and R104 solder joints ASAP.
DONE! Thanks for the tip! I think I need a new horizontal width coil now though... 😭
Did you break the core?
No, I just noticed that the image was too narrow when I put it all back together. I tried to adjust the coin, but I can't get the ferrite to budge. I hope it's not seized up!
You can change the C38 width cap to a lower rating to increase the width. Lower rating equals wider image. Higher rating equals narrower image.
@MikesArcadeMonitorRepair Thanks! I’ve got a width cap kit but never used it. Turns out, I was using a game PCB that produces a pretty narrow image but that might be normal for it. I tried a different game PCB and it filled the screen properly.
Added to my wish list

Impressive work with the pad repair Charlie love it , sure your not a pro? those digital microscopes are a must that one is great buy imho great res all features also highly recommend it nice work great for spotting bad fly backs huh?
I’m definitely NOT a pro! I don’t even own a ROM burner yet! 😂
Ok this is very helpful to me
Thanks for watching, and I’m glad you found it useful!
The record thing is amusing, I would guess they're just using an off the shelf remote, hence the buttons don't match. I have a Chinese made LED light that suffers from the same problem, the remote has buttons for features it doesn't have, so they just use if for other things it does have.
Yep, it's definitely a generic-ish remote meant to cover a range of devices.
