Hi sweet peanut butters! I know I will get a lot of questions in the comments about outfit sources so wanted to tackle that here! Every single thing is linked in the video description! Lots of items were thrifted or purchased years ago, so I tried to link to second-hand stores, or similar items when needed. Lots of items appear in multiple outfits, so if you like the purse from Outfit 6 but don't see it listed there, it may be listed in Outfit 2! etc...(UA-cam limits how much text i can put in the description, so I ran out of room to do redundant linking). Some of the sites I used for second-hand shopping include FWRD, Shopbop, ThredUp, Depop, and Goodwill. Thanks for letting me share this one, was kind of a nerve-wracking one, but so much fun :) Happy styling and happy summer!😍
Love this video!!! As always, you are so relatable and I love that you always stay true to your own style. I LOVED the striped sweater you were wearing in your last video - may I ask where that one's from?
I appreciate the like marginal discussion about sustainability even though it's not your whole brand. I think it helps make it all that more approachable and normal to organize one's life in ways that help us consume less. Like love that you talk about it and love that it's not your only thing!
I’m 43 and still buy my jeans from American Eagle! I stopped giving a shit about style ‘advice’ at 40 and wear what makes me happy. It’s been beyond liberating.
Luvie! Never restrict your shopping locations by age (except maybe true children's stores). If you love it, you love it. Otherwise, eventually you'll be left with nowhere to shop. FYI, I'm 70 and shop wherever the heck I want. I found that doing the "effortless" sweater tying requires a thin knit. SOCKS!!!! Tooooooooootally 80's! Especially the frilly. Love that this is coming back! Matchy matchy is just fine. Sometimes extreme coordination works brilliantly. Better made lasts longer. Which means it is cheaper in the long run. Hair up = sophisticated/sexy...even when messy. I have no idea why. I used to wear short tartan skirts well into my 40's. Please note: I've always looked much younger than my real age. At that time I could easily pass for about 25 or so. Yes, I always got carded. Always. Once, in my 20's, I got pulled over because the cop thought I was too young to drive. I was around 25...with my infant son in the car. Pants are frequently an issue for the vertically challenged. Tailoring is our friend. Also, I'm 5'2". Lots of experience with that. GIRRRRRRRRRRRRRL. Every time you put on shades. BANG! Sophistication galore. GA.LORE. I just look like a bug. Your videos always inspire. Thank you.
aw im glad! i filmed this whole video before i even knew that Bombas would be a sponsor. (if you watch the bombas sponsorship bit may notice that it's filmed on a different day, the flower vase on the floor is missing). So a fun fashion vibe was the point of this video, and just an added bonus that Bombas came through with the sponsor, because i think it was the perfect fit for the video!
these outfits are delightful and so is the vibe of this video in general. love to see you confidently rocking what you wear, especially after hearing on the podcast how people's comments about your clothes can really get to you. keep doing your thing girl, you look great ❤
im so glad u enjoy it! it's not a big loss actually, luckily. a subscriber once commented that i should check out Lickd - and you pay maybe $15 per month as a subscription, and then a one-time $50 for a hit song like Espresso. So it's not costing me my retirement fund, and it makes the videos so fun
I'm glad you figured that out Caroline cos I remember when you did the gym video you said you couldn't monetise because of it which was sad. And it does make the videos so fun!
“I might beat you up but then afterwards I’ll take you to a picnic” I think that right there is the defining statement. I think you just encapsulated your entire “brand” in one hilarious phrase. You may need to have that cross stitched onto a picnic blanket and a hoodie for the same outing. And I do mean cross stitched. In fun colours. For that Grandma meets gangsta meets club girlie vibe. I am so here for the Caroline Fashion Edit. Your instincts have not been letting you down. Thank god you’re not obsessed with trends because then we’d be missing out, big time. I applaud the desire to break out of the DC low key aesthetic. I live in a small Canadian city. I felt ridiculous showing up to school pick up in my oversized blazer and band t shirt and baggy boyfriend jeans because I stood out so very much from the yoga pants and uggs/trainers … and then I stopped caring and I’ve never been happier with my clothes lol.
I love seeing other people's style! Please make another one for fall! I also struggle to spend money on clothes that make me feel good - it feels so frivolous and wasteful but when I do and I go out in a cute outfit I feel like a million bucks!
Caroline outfit #3 is adorable and looks so good on you!! I love the combination of the tight fitting with the loose fitting. Definitely will use this as future outfit inspo!
DCer here, I wear ALL the things. I love your "flashy" skirt and believe it is very DC appropriate because I fully encourage people being and doing whatever they want. It's super cute and I say wear whatever you want!!
I can relate to your relationship with clothes very much! (Even if maybe for totally different reasons...) :D I mostly wore my brothers clothes growing up, because they fit me and it wasn't really that big of a deal to me how I looked in them back then. I never hated these clothes, on the contrary. I remember really liking them. But with puberty in the late 2000s and the internet - and being very much into tumblr - of course, this took a turn. Since then I really didn't know what I was doing clothing-wise. I almost never went out to buy something. Only, if there was something I REALLY needed. And if I did, second hand seemed to be my only option. Not because I didn't like anything. I just didn't know where to start and anything I already had and liked enough seemed safer than trying something else. It became kind of my style in a way to always show up everywhere quite underdressed. Even when I started making more money, that didn't change... Long story short: Thanks to some UA-camrs I watched the last couple months I managed to get a hold of myself and did a really thorough wardrobe "clear-out". I know a lot more about clothing and materials now and what to buy to get me where I wanna be, to make me feel confident in the clothes I am wearing... :) I hope, this essay isn't tmi. :D Anyways: I had a lot of fun watching your video!
WOOHOOOOO i've wanted a Caroline outfits video for so long, i'm always a fan of them. letsgooooo! (and yes i actually have a photo album in my phone for outfits i liked the most in the week so i can look back on it...)
Your outfits are my favorite and so on point, I always take inspo from them because they reflect my personal style too. Caroline you just have taste in so many aspects of your life and I love to see people who have good taste executing it well🤭
So happy to see a fashion video from you! I can relate so much to being made fun of and focusing on wearing what was cool when I finally had disposable income, then realizing I didn't like a lot of what I was buying. I feel like it's extra hard as a short person too because our options can be so limited, even with tailoring.
I’m 36 and I love American Eagle. Especially their jeans and a lot of their leggings. My algorithm knows it too and shows me exactly what I’ll like from them. So I go there to buy things for my 15 year old AND myself. 🥳
i have to go make breakfast before i can watch but i am So excited about this upload, and even more so knowing what i know about the making of from the podcast 😂
When I first saw the thumbnail on my home page, I thought „damn, that is so cool. I‘ll subscribe just for this!“ - then I noticed it was you, who I‘ve been following for like a year! Amazing work, Caroline, it looks so cool!
‘Joe Fresh’ is a line of clothing that is Canadian and is sold at the ‘Great Canadian Superstore’….It’s a grocery store and it’s awesome! Super cute outfits!
You know the awesome blue and white flowey dress, the one that was a bit matchy matchy with the shoes....my suggestion is - keep the matchy shoes (for something fancy, or wear sneakers for casual), leave your hair wilddddd and loose and then add the red purse. Voilà!
Also, please do bring NYC Caroline to D.C. don't let the conservative style culture bring you down. It'll actually make you feel MORE self-conscious if you try to fit in. It's better to err on the side of too fun or experimental, I think, in your case. Just cause then, you can have fun and not care if you get it "wrong". ❤
Best way to wear a sweater is cross body!! Tying it diagonally cuts your shape into triangles and makes the outfit more visually interesting :) love seeing your cool clothing pieces ! Thank you for sharing!!
This is going to sound like a backhanded compliment but I am in complete earnest in saying the first outfit is giving updated Miss Honey from Matilda and I support it.
Damn, I love how you combine your clothes sooo much, I feel like I've learned a lot and will try to be more bold and true to my grandma and fairy inclinations with my clothes lol thanks ♥
Loved this video! I am working on refining my wardrobe and personal style, and you always look cute and put together so this was great. I would love a video about closet storage solutions - how do you keep your clothing organized so things are easier to access? I don't have a ton of clothing storage space living in a small apartment, and I know that if I can't easily see/find my clothing items I don't end up wearing them as often and have trouble putting thoughtful outfits together. Would love to see how your organize & store clothes/shoes/accessories and any tips you might have!
The second look being like nobody puts baby in a corner. And that one with olive satin dress and cropped shirt is a keeper!!! Thank you for the video. Love love love various formats of vlogs on your channel
I LOVED this video! I enjoy your videos generally, but I just want to let you know that, while you may have felt awkward making this, it totally worked and was so fun to watch! I especially loved the hilarious descriptions for each style/outfit. I’m with you; it’s cool to hear someone talk through the thinking going into their outfit curation. Also, the outfits were stinkin cute!
Just wanted to let you know I really love your videos and find you and what you come up with very inspiring. 💛 at the same time, watching you always feels like I'm hanging out with a close friend, as if we were chit-chatting about everything and anything that comes to our minds :)
First off I love your style and think you have an excellent sense of what works for you! I would be really curious to know your Kibbe body type because it might help you figure out the nuances of proportion (like whether that big white sweater is too big) because you have such a slight frame. The kibbe test is totally extremely involved and I know a lot of people don't have patience for it but I've found it SO helpful in defining my own style!
Also I lived in DC too and totally understand the whole conservative vibe and how it can be a damper on style 😩 holla to living in NYC where you can do anything!
Thrift/second hand online a handful of quality pieces. That's what I do anyways. Win win. Love outfit 5 and 6! The institutional white on white look is a summer classic. Endless ways to accessorize it.
I'm a 36 yo mom and the jeans struggle is real. It was hard enough when only skinnies were in style, but now I can't even figure out where to start now. It took a lot to get me to move from flares to skinnies in 2008, loved flares in high school, but now that skinnies are out and flares are back...I can't put flares back on without feeling 17 again in the worst way. I've always hated boot-cut, all my shirts work better with skinnies, but I want to feel cool again now that I'm exiting the frumpy baby-mom stage. But trying anything else makes me feel like Amy Pohler "I'm a cool mom" vibes. Can't win!
00:30👗 We all have that internal dialogue with our clothes, evaluating what works and what doesn't. 02:18👚 While my style changes, I enjoy exploring and sharing my personal looks. 05:02👠 I'm learning to invest in quality pieces that last longer, rather than buying many disposable items. 09:56🧦 My favorite looks include comfortable and fun garments, like flowing dresses and unexpected combinations. 14:59🩴 Sometimes I feel constrained by the conservative atmosphere of my city, but I'm rediscovering the fun in fashion. 16:00👗 The speaker discusses the challenge of investing in more expensive clothing pieces for sustainability and longevity. 16:51🎒 She highlights her preference for thrifting while balancing it with investing in well-made, durable items. 17:56👟 Expresses difficulty in spending money on high-cost items like shoes, emphasizing the balance between quality and cost. 18:45🛍 Talks about her shopping preferences and the internal debate over buying more sustainable versus cheaper, disposable clothing. 19:50🎒 Reflects on her evolving shopping habits, moving towards purchasing fewer, better-quality items over numerous cheaper ones.
FINALLY I found where you got your tennis circle skirt from, Halara! Please do a video on all the colours you have because I went to the website and there's A LOT!
As a 38 year old I needed to hear your message about wearing what we like. Our style is very similar and I’m now comfortable looking like a cheeky lil lad everyday, that’s just my zone, who knows in 10 years but I don’t think it will change 8 just might spend more on my pieces lol.
My grandmother (b. 1915) always said, "Don't waste your youth!!" -- she lived to be 89 and was snazzy to the end. Plus, you have a fabulous physique and you can wear anything. HAVE FUN! Screw DC -- what i love about my city (Philly) is that you can literally wear anything at all. Anything goes and no one cares. Be a trend-setter!!
I knew from the intonation of how Abi said “how her upbringing influenced fashion” that she must also be ex-Mormon lol - love that you pulled her in to share that and can’t wait to follow along with the blog. Adore your content as always Caroline 💕
I almost never comment, but you have inspired me. Thank you. Your videos feel so cozy and authentic. I told myself onetime if I could be anything I want to be Caroline. And I thought to myself how cool it would be to hear something like that one day from someone lol
Another way to fix painful shoes: go to a cobbler. I went to one with several pairs and it was extremely reasonably priced (including fixing a pair of my friend's shoes that she gave be because they were broken, then I got them fixed and gave them back to her with some other fun stuff for her birthday. She was thrilled!)
For shoes check out: Tony Bianco - Italian. Great leather boots and strappy heels Dune London: tall boots Sezane (but you already know that) Bobbies Loeffler Randall (a nice splurge) Clarks: for true comfort. You have to dig but you can find gold Dolce vida: sandals
You look adorable in every outfit, Caroline! This video has inspired me to try and experiment with pairing the items I own in a new way. Best regards from a regular viewer in Ukraine! Hugs
Yes, I was going to comment that it was too heavy a knit for a sundress and she needs a thinner knit. Also, instead of tying the sleeves of a cardigan in a knot, try folding the ends of the sleeves together like a pair of socks.
Caroline, your style is actually pretty consistent! You have lovely taste 🤗 can I suggest something? Have you tried pushing your bangs to the side or to the back when you wear your dad hat? When I wear my bangs out with a hat, I feel like it looks like the hair is apart of the hat. 😅I hope that’s not rude! But you have great style! ❤
Let's take a moment to appreciate and applaud the thumbnail!!! 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
Yes!! 👏 👏👏👏
i was soooo delighted when i thought of the paper doll idea. thank u for applauding me like the young child i am
Yes!! I used to have so many paper doll books- I absolutely loved them. Never punched them out or cut them out, I just enjoyed looking at them~ 🥰
Ingenious, adorable and relatable ❤
Loooved the paper doll theme! A new book of paper dolls was my favorite treat as a little girl! 😊
I always thought you had the best outfits in every single one of your videos so I am so excited to watch this!
wow k ATTENTION EVERYONE, COMPLIMENTS LIKE THIS ONLY x FOREVER, TY

Bombas used to donate to the family shelter I worked for in the past! Their socks always looked so comfy and luxurious.

I resonate with “I might beat you up, but then take you to a picnic”
I never would have guessed your style was so feminine!! 🌺❤️ I thought slouches or corporate.
Def John Hughes’ films wardrobe approved 😊. Love your style
Can you read my mind?! Just been filming a wardrobe vid for my luteal phase cos this stage in my cycle is bAnANaS 😅 excited for this!
FINALLY I found where you got your tennis circle skirt from, Halara! Please do a video on all the colours you have because I went to the website and there's A LOT!
I truly cannot explain how long I’ve been waiting for this video 😭😭
I came here from the balcony Reno/bombas commercial cuz I want that skirt! ❤
You should try brazilian jeans! Even inexpensive ones fit super well
I just thrifted some white "institutionals". I was happy about it.
Hi Caroline! I think you would like the clothing brand Des Petits Hauts. They've got the same playfulness as you have while still being classic.
Love the last outfit !!!
Thank you for sharing, was so fun to watch! 🎉
I love your style so much and I'm so glad you did this video cause I wanted to know more about how you put together an outfit. Thank you!
i’ve always loved your outfits in your videos so i’m so hyped for this video
Button the sweater. Hold the sleeves out to fold it in half, and put the neck section against your back. You know how to do that his! Pretty.
i loved every second of this! its inspiring me to get a little outside of my comfort zone when i get dressed 🫶🏼
For shoes check out:
Tony Bianco - Italian. Great leather boots and strappy heels
Dune London: tall boots
Sezane (but you already know that)
Bobbies
Loeffler Randall (a nice splurge)
Clarks: for true comfort. You have to dig but you can find gold
Dolce vida: sandals
I choked on my dinner when you said Justin calls your white on white outfit your “institutionals” 😂 loved this video!
That and the Hannibal Lecter mention for me!
During your Bombas segment you showed a pair of brown chunky loafers a couple of times, who made those? So cute.
There is no excuse for how cute your hair is
Would love more fashion content from you!!
You look adorable in every outfit, Caroline! This video has inspired me to try and experiment with pairing the items I own in a new way. Best regards from a regular viewer in Ukraine! Hugs
You are adorable. I am not into caps as a fashionable item though. My favorite was the "Prissy-prissy-matchy-thing."
"Young Republican Mom" Then twirks in her cute tent dress😂😂😂! Love each of your outfits! Each one captures the essence of your lovable personality 😊
moms gotta dance
No we need a video "Flashy in DC". At least I do, I really need that video now.
Can we get more fashion advice from you? This was so great!
Honestly this "preppy" look is right for you !!! Also love all those thrifted blouses on you
Thanks for creating this! I've always loved your style in your videos
Try tying a light cardigan, rather than a heavy sweater, over that flirty summer dress. But all cute.
Yes, I was going to comment that it was too heavy a knit for a sundress and she needs a thinner knit. Also, instead of tying the sleeves of a cardigan in a knot, try folding the ends of the sleeves together like a pair of socks.
Thanks for sharing! So fun! Would love to see more fashion tips. Thrifting is fun too!
Espresso fits perfectly in a outfits video
Caroline, your style is actually pretty consistent! You have lovely taste 🤗 can I suggest something? Have you tried pushing your bangs to the side or to the back when you wear your dad hat? When I wear my bangs out with a hat, I feel like it looks like the hair is apart of the hat. 😅I hope that’s not rude! But you have great style! ❤
