MISS MYRNA & HER DAUGHTERS here in Memphis, TN Bountiful Blessings Church of God in Christ and my Bishop G.E. Patterson's church. Was a blessing to be raised in that congregation with all the celebrity gospel singers coming through regularly...Rance Allen, Deleon Richards, etc.
TRUTH. I miss real gospel choirs, choir anniversaries, marching in and out clapping when the other choirs sing show out. Then go to the church basement and get that fried chicken, sandwiches, potato salad planters peanuts small soft mints and red punch Nothing against Praise and Worship but LORD I FIRE BAPTISED HOLY GHOST FILLED GOSPEL CHOIRS!!!!
I lost my mom in 2017 and the only way I have made it to this day is because He is on my side. His word promised me He would heal the brokenhearted& bind up their wounds! Lord I Thank You for keeping me.
I lost my Mom in 2012 and it was only by the grace of God that l made it as well. I believe l lost my faith for a moment. O but GOD. HE was there all the time.🙏
I am 61 years old and I remember singing this song in my church choir in my 20's and it still bless my spirit. So many members of Christ Bible Center in Chicago IL.
John 3:16 KJV For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. 💛
I remember playing this song for my choir, "The Followers of Christ". It was a blessing to all who heard it. The message is simple, but powerful. "We can make it, with Jesus on our side" Amen! Rest in peace, Timothy Wright, my brother in Christ. You and your presence is missed.
One of my favorite songs that will bring you through, when everything around you is going wrong and you don't know what to do but with Jesus on our side things will work out fine
This was when gospel was gospel music and people were presentable and it was about Jesus Christ and the Almighty. Now these days gospel music has become a spectacle. Can't even tell the difference between gospel and R&B these days.
You lived what you sang about and presented yourself unattracted to you, but attracted to the Lord Jesus Christ. These songs were about doctrine. "We're gonna make it." And you knew you were going to make it.
Black and white 1st and 4th Sunday in thr COGIC circles. 3rd Sunday All black Somebody testify!!! I lived it in the 80s! We dressed holy and sanctified!
That's true! I just feel that sometimes gospel strays from it's roots. I know that a lot of new artists are trying to add a R&B, pop feel to it so that it can appeal to the young crowd. I don't mind, I like some of it. But at the same time, from time to time, I like to hear some good ol' fashioned gospel. Even though I'm young at 24, maybe I'm too old school, LOL!
Know that God will never leave us nor forsake us. This pandemic/plague/COVID or whatever is formed against us shall not prosper!!! If God be for us, who can be against us?! We're going to make it! Psalm 91 will encourage you. Be blessed everyone. 😍🤗😇🙏
As matter of fact if you look at all of your albums before 1992 and after 1992, you will see a distinct trend. Using Commissioned or Hezekiah for example. All albums before 1992 everyone smiled. Happy to be saved and singing. After 1992 all of the smiles went away to look serious, mad or whatever the world trend was. Check it out for yourself.
AMEN the Good Lord has already done it.. Good things. His the Good Lord thoughts are very Good and so is Yours and mine. AMEN. The Good Lord keeps us in shape spiritually, physically, naturally, and mentally. AMEN. His Good fight of faith. AMEN we return all the glory back to Him the Good Lord. AMEN.
I just am seeing this video for the first time, and SCREAMED when i saw him! I had to scroll through the comments to see if anyone else saw/recognized him! =) Made my night!
It sounds a little bit different from the recording on the album, but this is still my favorite. When I'm my darkest hour, this song always gives me hope and with Jesus by my side, I know I'll make it. Myrna is now the Minister of Music at Reid Temple A.M.E. Church in Glenn Dale, Maryland. She looks incredible!
@Greg Normal I enjoy good Gospel Music. So yes I believe that makes me a fan. I also enjoy: Magnify the Lord, and Uncloudy Day featured in the music catalog of M. Summers. Be Safe & Be Blessed
If you ever get a chance to hear Myrna sing this live, wear a seat belt. I promise you, you WILL go in! There's an unusual anointing on this song.
Blessed anointed woman of God!!
Believe me I know...Growing up in The Springs, u heard her do her thing weekly...Wassup Kevin!!!

This is vintage old school; church seemed so simple back then; not commercial; just singing to the glory of God

Love and miss you Myrna. Know that you are continually in our prayers. Thank you for being such a powerful, wonderful, impactful vessel of God.
