I just got a zemismart m1, but I'm not able to connect a sonoff SNZB-06P presence sensor (zigbee 3.0). Are they not compatible, or am I missing something? Thanks
Yes, and I had no idea something like this existed before. What I still don't understand is how this could add a temperature sensor over matter where there is no native matter temp sensor on the market yet. Or am I wrong?

@@csongorvarga if the temperature sensor is zigbee then it will be exposed to matter platforms like Alexa through this M1 hub . In some cases the device might need border router like hue hub for Philips hue devices
@@mamlukavlogs6353 In my understanding the Alexa device needs to be a border router as well. So you at least one in your house. Like with Google, I have a 2nd gen Nest Hub which is the border router. I don't think it would work with a 3rd party border router, but I may be mistaken.
I still confused... let me explain the condition. I use Apple Homekit ecosystem and I have homepod that act for hub to connect to my Aqara hub (as it hub to another aqara zigbee child device). Now my aqara hub is Matter enable (as I update the firmware). Let say I have Samsung phone (which I assume I can connect aqara to the smartthings to make my device also controlable with samsung phone). But when I scan the matter qr code (from aqara app) to the smartthings it say I need matter hub (which samsung give me example like samsung smart tv or smartthings station). So is it correct if I buy the zemismart M1 to use it as matter hub or I still need to buy smartthings hub instead? And how about google home, do I still need to buy google nest or I can use the M1 as well? sorry for the long question...
Will this be a good option to add Zigbee to my current Home Assistant install? Currently have zero zigbee devices but want to use them. (Running Zimi Powermesh devices which are Bluetooth)
@@jasonhutcheon5991 I am no Home Assistant expert, but I think ZHA is a much better approach as it will integrate zigbee locally and not via a cloud service like this. This gateway would only work with Tuya via the cloud.
Thanks for the comprehensive review. I presently have several Tuya Zigbee devices setup on a Tuya Zigbee hub on the Smart Life app. Do I need to re-setup every device so that I can use them with the Zemismart M1 hub? Thanks in advance.
If I have an aqara hub that supports matter and pair with the zemismart hub. Does that mean all the tuya zigbee devices would be exposed to aqara? Except power monitoring since it’s not working yet
I have several Tuya zigbee sensors that do not work natively with my SmartThings hub. So in theory, this Tuya hub should be able to act like a bridge so that I could integrate my tuya zigbee sensors into SmartThings. The problem however is that I have Tuya wifi devices as well that do not talk to SmartThings. I don't think this Tuya hub would help in that scenario since it only worka with zigbee, and not wifi. Am I correct?
No the zemismart hub will work matter over WiFi , matter over thread so you won’t have issues in connecting your tuya WiFi devices to your smartthings but smartthings should support your device type . It’s the decision of smartthings or Alexa or nest . If your tuya WiFi device supports matter then it can directly talk to smartthings but still smartthings should support the particular device type
Yes, I think in the past you could like it to a phone directly as well, but in a recent iOS update, Apple tied all the smart home functionality to a hub such as a HomePod or TV. I don't have either of those hence I could not test it.
@@csongorvarga mmh same behaviour with Alexa; in Alaxa app you cannot add matter device unless you have an echo device that act as Matter Controller. I therefore doubt the usefulness of this M1 because HomePod and Echo are enough to act as bridge, controller, border router, etc…

I get to differ. There are a lot of products in lights, switches, blinds. No new product classes that is sure. And it works. Apple users must really welcome as they have tons of new products that support HomeKit out of the box.
It sounds to good to be true, hope that it works fine

I did not test that one to be honest. But it is possible that it is not compatible.
You might need a border router like sonoff zigbee hub to talk to zemismart zigbee hub . Did you try ?
This device allows you to add zigbee devices to your matter ecosystem, basically a matter zigbee bridge, there’s also a matter Bluetooth bridge.

Remove sub-devices from HomeKit or the zigbee sub-devices?
Thanks Csongor
Does it work with any third party zigbee devices like Sengled, Third Reality, Sonoff?

Good question, I assume it would.
If zemismart can talk to other matter ecosystems of course it should talk with another matter hub . Did you try ?
What about home assistant ? I have some zigbee devices connected with zha (sonoff dongle) but it is not exposed to Alexa. Would this solve the issue ?
No, this is a special functionality of this device. This only works with this hub. But this hub does not work with Home Assistant.

Can you do automations with zibgee devices connected in the hub in the tuya app?
Yes of course. Those are availble for trigger and action as well, just like any other device.
I added M1 in Tuya app but to add as Matter in apple HomeKit is necessary a HomePod/Apple Tv.

The Matter scenario is dead. No updates
Limited support or no products.
It promised integration with "everything" but that is not the reality.
