Great video going to incorporate this in my draw cycle. Love the placement of the hand to the face, I do use my nuckles to my face but your way makes perfect sense. Love Love Love improving my shot execution. 68 and still learning. 🏹🏹🏹
I have been wirking on these throughout the last week. This is true 100%. Draw length, D loop length and peep sight height are the most important to have perfect. Draw length pos comes from the length of front half and d loop pength is to control back half.
Interesting video. i have watched so much info on this. some say to use middle knuckles, some to use the punching knuckles and others to use the V. like ride the jaw like its on a track. Your thoughts make sense to me. no one explained why.. Here i watching a dip bang video to n find the info…. I believe it was Ryles in a seminar teaches to keep the hand at angle. He explained that it don’t matter how but the elbow will still be behind the arrow nock.. You explained why that is a bad thing. And it makes sense
I’m having a problem now. My pin is dipping off the bottom of center. Alpha x 30 at 70. I run a back bar 8” along with a 10” front. I’m a hunter first target second. I have however been dead on with hitting the deer this year. Just seems once I get on target in my yard my pin drops and I struggle to keep it in the 10x
Congrats on being successful with the deer! Sounds like you’re running into some target panic issues when shooting in the yard. Hopefully this can help some but if not let me know, I have Target Panic course as well. rcrchery.wordpress.com/2018/10/10/becoming-a-master-over-target-panic/
Thanks guys. I will try in the off season. Right now I’m in hunting mode. 30 and closer there’s no issue really. I did just get this alpha x in sept so I haven’t had a ton of time on it. Had a v3 27” and shot that thing lights out.
@@Briguy933 hey man congrats, before you settle in on target panic being a problem. What he talks about with the hold and something maybe you don't realize or haven't tried before, is your D loop height could be working against you not your stabs.
How do you accommodate older archers with shoulder impingement. I have never ever been able to get my elbow that high. At best I can only get my elbow slightly above parallel.
Everyone's body's are a little different on length of the bones in the arm. For me, I've seemed to always had a little higher elbow in my ideal spot than others. The main thing you're looking for with elbow height is the amount of leverage you need over the bow at full draw while executing your shot. This is controlled with the length of the loop. What I see sometimes though are people with low rear elbows aren't getting the shoulder and scapula back into position so the arm is being impeded on the path needed to take and the location it needs to be in. I'd have to see you to know for sure what direction to take. If you ever decide you'd like me to check your form out and see what things look like I do offer an evaluation for $10. You can email me rcrchery@gmail.com to get some more info on it all!
Not on my normal shot. I let my palm area give to pressure build up so the fingers stay in place for the most part. But even with a rigid hand on a resistance release the fingers will just track down the jaw line. In reality they will move very, very little.
@@rcrchery Thank you very much! And, thank you for what you do. I have lupus and severe depression, so I don't have a regular job. My income is minimal at best. So, I could never afford any type of instruction. I really rely on your videos, and I've learned a great deal.
I’m sorry to hear about your situation but I’m glad the videos lend a helping hand!! If you ever have questions feel free to email me; I’m happy to help any way I can. rcrchery@gmail.com
It’s possible depending on the archer and how they’re compensating. The draw length of the bow sets up your bow arm side of the body and the loop the release arm side of the body. But I do know people interchange that sometimes.
Thank you! I think this is the video I needed to see, I'll be sure to adjust and also have someone photograph it video me drawing so I can see the angles to make corrections.

@ I’m going to play around with that after the season

When pulling through for the release, are you pulling your knuckles off of your face?

Could the draw length be too short
It’s possible depending on the archer and how they’re compensating. The draw length of the bow sets up your bow arm side of the body and the loop the release arm side of the body. But I do know people interchange that sometimes.
