  • Nestled amidst majestic snow-capped mountains, Valdez, Alaska is a remote, coastal town offers awe-inspiring views and endless outdoor adventures.
Located at the head of a fjord on the Prince William Sound, it might be one of the most majestically beautiful towns in Alaska!
Despite some less than ideal weather at times, we had an epic four days days exploring this area, including seeing wildlife, enjoying local beers and food, admiring glaciers and epic mountains, and so much more!

Nat shack in Valdez is delicious every yr when I go fishing at end of august for the coho salmon I eat there. If your still in Alaska it’s a halibut and coho salmon derby. End of august 1st weekend of September. There’s dip-netting going on in Kenai now at mouth of the river. Sockeye salmon ,,,, Seward will have coho first weekend September as well. There’s coho and pinks in anchorage currently.

FYI NOTE: The Yukon is a TERRITORY, (Not a Province). Lots of waterfalls, hot springs and views on the return trip via another highway choice through B.C. southbound through several National Parks. cheers !

We're new to Canada so still learning - and have quickly learned that Yukon, Northwest Territories, and Nunavut are in fact, not provinces! It was a stunning drive through Canada and looking forward to our return trip that will take us through Jasper and Banff.

lol 😂. Nope, I hit that pull off outside Glennallen at 5 am not a cloud in the sky, can’t describe the views, except all the rv sleeping there.

Enjoyed the video for the travel information and your presentation is great! My suggestion would be less booze and more views!

Do you have the Milepost book? Me and friends bring on all of our roadtrips and check out sights along the way. So much history and things to see that you may not have checked out otherwise.
Some people dislike it. Others, like me, love it. You can pick up the book in most Alaskan grocery stores or gas stations or order it online.

Yes!! Our Milepost edges are getting worn out with how much we are using it. Was a huge help to plan our routes and has been great to know where pullouts and services are along the way

Great video. Did you find it difficult to finding camping spots?

Thanks! We actually didn't book any campsites on the way up from Vancouver to Alaska and didn't have any trouble just showing up (could have partly been due to us traveling early in "the season"). We had general ideas of what our options were but didn't plan too much as we didn't know what we'd encounter on the drive.
