I think the ethics commissioner is saying that his office is mostly powerless. That when the office was created the reputation of those investigated was important, but today it is meaningless. That the auditor general provided a report listing the conflicts and that it would be pointless to redo this just to come to the same conclusions. I think the commissioner is making a very valid point to dissolve his office as it has become meaningless.
