  • A beautiful, sacred hymn in Church Slavonic to our Most Holy Lady Theotokos. 2 hours.
"To thee do I entrust my life for protection and, on thee, after God, do I place all hope of my salvation, O Mistress and Virgin Theotokos. I, thy servant, pray thee, despise not me who have many sins, but behold my sorrow and my perplexity over them and grant me relief and consolation, that I not perish to the end."

why? You believe your god is responsible for all of it, aren't you? I mean... 'act of god' has to come from somewhere....right?? hahahaha... but then again... since it seems that this kind of weather is NORMAL in that part of the world... he cant seem to stop it...or he doesn't want to... or he doesn't exist and cannot control the weather...

      You said in your previous comment;
“God is not directly responsible. He can control the weather but he doesn’t always”
And what I had said is why do you believers pray to this god of yours who is the cause of this weather?? He creates all things, the light and the dark, the good and the evil… is that not what your silly big book of mythology says?
Why do you pray AFTER the fact? He CAUSES the weather…or he doesn’t prevent the weather which causes the damage… either way, he is RESPONSIBLE for it…

if he is lord of creation... why are you praying to him or to his mommy for the stuff he has caused to happen? Are they not called 'acts of god'?? Why are you asking him AFTER the fact for healing or protection or what have you....shouldn't you have prayed beforehand so he left you alone? hahahahahaha..... Illogical...

@@alahatzaifat1872 First, my prayers for you. I, too, once did not understand why bad things happened to innocent people. Sin entered the world because human beings, our first parents, disobeyed God and they brought evil and disorder and chaos and suffering into the world through their sin. God PERMITS evil, and suffering. He PERMITS the Prince of Darkness to act in our lives and even in the forces of nature. But God does not, necessarily ORDAIN that destructive event unless He sees that it will bring about good and for the sanctification of our souls. God is pure Good. He does nothing for the sake of evil itself.

**********I, too, once did not understand why bad things happened to innocent people
Seems you were pretty naïve then….
****Sin entered the world because human beings, our first parents, disobeyed God and they brought evil and disorder and chaos and suffering into the world through their sin
Nice story… but let look closely at the story, shall we?
Your god is supposedly all knowing. He KNEW ahead of time that his new creation (WHICH the book tells us, did not KNOW right from wrong, since they had not eaten of the tree of knowledge of good and evil…so I will think of them as 4 year old toddlers) would eat of the fruit. He is also supposedly all powerful… so, with the foreknowledge that they would transgress… he did NOTHING to guard the tree, hide the tree, put it outside the garden, etc. etc. He also KNEW that the serpent would try and tempt Eve… again, with all his power, he did not prevent the serpent from being in the garden, did not make it mute, did not kill it etc.
Now.. the serpent spoke to Eve… telling her only the truth (god lied to them, by the way) and convinced a ‘4 year old toddler’ that the fruit was yummy and good to eat. What adult could not convince a 4 year old of anything they wanted to convince them of? Is it the naïve and ignorant toddler’s fault for being tricked? Really? If you left you 4 year old with a box of chocolates and told them not to eat them… they may obey you… but what if your adult sibling came along and tried to convince them to have one bite… do you think your child would be able to resist? And if they eat one, who is at fault here? Think on that a bit, will ya? Hahahahahaha Then… your god goes on to have a temper tantrum because his ‘toddlers’ were tricked by an adult in eating that which he could not guard or hide etc… and ACCUSED all of those who would come after the fact… they aren’t even born, and already guilty??? Is this really what you believe? Does this sound logical/fair/believable? I am sorry…but it sounds like a fairy tale to me… replace god with a witch or something and it would make just as much sense…
*******God PERMITS evil, and suffering. He PERMITS the Prince of Darkness to act in our lives
Why? What is the reason for it? He supposedly knows every action and thought we do or think… he knows who is a true believer with or without testing… why does he allow evil in this world? He is supposedly all loving/benevolent…isn’t he? How do you square that circle??
*********But God does not, necessarily ORDAIN that destructive event unless He sees that it will bring about good and for the sanctification of our souls
Please explain that in terms that a child would understand because there is NO way this makes sense the way it is now. hahahaha… he may not ordain it, but he condones it? I don’t ordain child rape but I condone it? Does that make ANY sense to you? How badly has this religion harmed your logic and reasoning skills…
**********God is pure Good. He does nothing for the sake of evil itself
Of course he doesn’t, because he does not seem to exist… fables and legends can’t DO anything…
      Do better…

@@alahatzaifat1872As for some of your other points, there are more than I feel I can address at this time but will revisit later. But I can address one. The comparison of Adam and Eve to 4 year old toddlers. They weren’t 4 year old toddlers. So I’m not able to follow your line of reasoning here. They were adult human beings with adult human reasoning. And I don’t understand your point that God “lied” to them. Can you elaborate on what the “lie” was?
By the way, every single point you make here is addressed directly in the Catechism of the Catholic Church. I will try to find a link to an online version where you can type in your questions or issues with Christian doctrine and you can read solid doctrinal material.
