Okinawa Goju Ryu is a close quarter self defense system and teaches many techniques where it's assumed that initially you won't have the proper range for standard guard and strikes. I learned this exact stuff there.
Just a quick thanks. As a Paramedic I am put in some situations that can cause me great harm and having this knowledge in the back of my head can do nothing but make me safer. Thank you for the videos.
You can also pop that forearm neck crank, spear type, shot into the neck from that fence position for a disruptive shot that can also morph into a control position. Hatmaker's got some good stuff on the old school railroad administration of this and from being on the receiving end of this in pressure testing, I can account for how unpleasant it is. Good for those not so familiar with fighting techniques.
I'd like to know your thoughts on the reverse punch to the solar plexus followed by left hook to the jaw as an opening move or a pre-emptive strike. I'm a short guy and that seems like a good move to use against taller opponents. Thanks.
hardcore cardio is the best way... I am also a respiratory therapist and a registered nurse if you have any specific questions... email me.. john@thepit.tv
