i just said the same thing to my self if there is a video to reasure you to buy the spb143 is this one :D everytime spb143 shwoed up i said yep thats it. the heart wants what the heart want
All great alternatives. They were all in my list. Ended up going for the spb143 and cannot be happier. No qc issues, accurate movement (+1-2 secs per day) and just beautiful, a lot better than I imagined. To me the real negative is the thickness. It feels bulky for a relatively small watch
The Certina is a fantastic underrated watch. I own 2 of them. Its 38mm but wears like a 40mm. They make a 43mm diver also. I will be getting the titanium one soon
The titanium bracelet from the blue citizen fits fine on the black one. I have one on mine. I think people probably have trouble fitting it on because they’re trying to use fat spring bars like the ones that come on a Seiko. You have to use regular sized small ones.
SPB143 for everyday use with it's modest price. This has become my go to tool daily watch as it stands up to life on/in/under the water. Iconic tool watch look that will tickle the fancy many a watch geek and it pairs well with a blazer and shoes when one must, though i prefer it either barefoot or flip flops. Want to show off your $$$? Buy a bigger boat.
I choose a Baltic Aquascaphe SB01. Black textured dial and dual time zone steel bezel. Amazing vintage design. 😎 Just saying, 'cause you can't put them all here as you choose 5 watches.
At 900 bucks fine… If you want it, then I suppose that price is justifiable… But they Also just came out with a second version for the second time that cost over $3500. Stylistically it’s the exact same watch… They stuck in a better movement, not great however. Nice finishing and all the other specs that you would expect… But they want 3500 bucks for that watch… That’s just silly.
Excellent collection you assembled to go heads up with SPB143. I prefer many of your choices for the movements as well. Not a fan of the 6R Seiko movement, Well done.
It's a great watch. However, mi spb143 is way more accurate than my junghans max bill with an eta 2824. Apparently It's a matter of luck with this movement
San martin are doing all the specs for a quarter of the price , with adjustable bracelets to boot. They are amazing for the price and could dominate the market in the future for what they offer. Just like seiko did to the swiss , the Chinese could kill off a lot of average brands in that category.
@@atrain4980 my King Samurai 4r35 is averaging -15 secs per day. My 6r15 was averaging 40 secs after 1 year, whereas my Tudor bb58 1-2 secs/day, Glycine Combat sub ETA 7 secs/day, Omega SMP 300 +2 secs/day. So i said goodbye to Seiko since mostly i cannot stand the bezel, hour markers misalignment of their watches below $1500 price point.
San Martin is a great Budget alternative. I just tried to find the watches closest to the spb143's price. Maybe next time i'll make a budget alternative. Thanks for watching!
Every time the Seiko flashed up again for comparison to the others I immediately thought I would still get the Seiko😂
Haha. By all means, the seiko is the standard here.
Agreed!
Yes, and I did get the Seiko

Yeah nothing beats the spb..

I also like their Certina DS Ph500. Thanks for watching!
Nice Kirby. Some good alternatives there.
Thanks man! Glad to see you back.

Interesting! That makes sense. Thanks for sharing and watching friend!
The only thing standing between me and the Certina is that PARAGRAPH written all over the dial.

Oh man…. How could I have missed that. 5 is definitely too little. That Baltic looks stunning! Thanks for suggesting man!
I've bought Fuji Subo, I like it, but I steel want 143.
Nice buy, want one too, but the SPB143 prevents me from buying a lot more watches. Thanks for watching!

Oh yeah the sje093. It is quite expensive only because it is a limited edition.
Excellent alternatives.

Thanks man! Appreciate it.
Doxa sub 200 for me. With a ETA 2824, it’s unbeatable!!💪🏼
Good choice! Thanks for watching!

The doxa is an alternative however the lume is terrible.
And so I've heard.. Good looking watch but the lume is not on par with lumibrite. Thanks for watching.

I do not like Seiko movement at this price point. 6r 15, 6r 35.. they are not ... ok. Not to mention their markers' alignment. Tks.
Mine is averaging +2sec/day, can't really complain.

I think the Captain Willard is better
Err you can always get san martin
