Qian Tianyi is a pretty girl. Especially without makeup. But there are a few other beautiful ladies from Japan and S. Korea. The Chinese produce many champions for 1/2 century but pretty TT player is another story. Qian is an anomaly. Perhaps no pretty girls play TT from China. At least, not the champion-caliber players.

Same age as Sun, Qian is just breaking out. Based on the number of missed balls, Qian has much room for improvement, both in technique and physical strength. I think Qian caught a lucky break as Ito also underperformed in this match. Well wishes to Qian!
Qian Tianyi is so calm and collective. She doesn't get too high or low during the match. She was 2 points from losing the match and you wouldn't know it by her disposition. She has her uniqueness in her style. She holds that right index finger up during rallies as if saying I'm number one.
Her name literally means "A number 1". 天一is short for 天字第一號：the first of the top batch。

Was worried about this match when I saw the draw. I remember Mima thrashing QT twice in 2019, and playing some wonderful stuff. Now....her game seems increasingly ineffective; I can't remember one great singles performance from her for over two years. Well played QT, but as for Mima Ito - without some serious mental and tactical adjustments - she'll struggle to make the team at the next Olympics. Let alone win another Gold medal.

钱天一自始至终坚持打长球，把伊藤美诚逼得不得不退后半步，于是，她的成功率就下降了一点。因为伊藤美诚无论是正手还是反手，打的都是直线球而不是弧线球，要打上台角度本来就很窄，越往后退这个角度就越小。而钱天一的求都打在底线附近，使得伊藤美诚无法靠台太近。但是不得不说，其实伊藤美诚的实力，还是在钱天一之上的。

从第二局开始钱就一直在等伊藤打反手斜线然后直线反拉一板，效果很好。
其实两人实力差不多，胜负就在最后毫厘之间。最有福气的是看球的观众啊哈哈。

It's always entertaining to watch MIMA ITO playing. Sometimes she plays so well, and sometimes makes too many errors. I really hope her performance can be more stable and she makes less errors.
Qian Tianyi needs to make her arm muscles stronger by 25% at least. If she can achieve it, she will become top 3.
She has the smallest arm of all Chinese players. How did she pass the strength test?
Qian is the most feminine player in the Chinese team. She is not a robot like the others. In fact, it is a surprise that she has succeeded to achieve such a high place in the present female Chinese hierarchy.
Please don't make her arm like a man. I like her arm the way it is...beautiful. It is not all about table tennis you know.

Mima Ito stopped learning for a couple of years already.
Never seen such a beauty girl in China team before.
Qian Tianyi stuck to her prepared strategy even when it wasn't always going well. Notice she likes to serve quite fast and deep into Ito's backhand. And Ito sometimes was successful but also failed to pivot to attack it with the forehand, lacking a bit of confidence. The serve was sometimes heavy, sometime light. Then Qian attacked keeping the ball long to Ito backhand and if Ito returned to her forehand, Qian went down the line to Ito's forehand corner. Many times Ito did not even react. Surprised. Qian sometimes simply bumped the ball deep into the forehand corner, and Ito looped or hit long. Sometimes put underspin on it. So many little things to undermine Ito's confidence. You could tell Ito was getting more and more worried. And any hesitation on Ito's part is good for Qian, as Qian doesn't power the ball like Wang Manyu or Sha-sha.
