I Wish Times were Still like This.. People cared about each other and children Respected their Elders. I Love this old movie. Thanks so much for sharing.
It amazes me that life was that beautiful at one time...no chain stores, people with honor and dignity, the wonderful life of small town America. I love these old movies its like a glimpse into the past.
A movie about true character, taking personal responsibility, caring for the welfare of others, the value of knowledge, correct speech, social mores, and simple manners; the value of grace while enduring personal hardship, and the epitome of a true lady. This movie is also about how each of us can have a profound and lasting impact on many... A lovely movie.
Yes, this is a movie with some moral character, taking personal responsibility, caring for the welfare of others, but which now is "a thing of the past", for Jesus said that one of the features of "the sign of his invisible presence" (Matt 24:3), would be that "love of the greater number would grow cold".(Matt 24:12) And indeed, genuine love, of having and showing deep concern for others is now greatly lacking. Wonderfully, this "cold" attitude will soon be done away, because those showing it will be annihilated at what the Bible calls Armageddon (Rev 16:16), a world situation that places the political elements with its some 8 billion supporters against a heavenly government called God's Kingdom (see Dan 2:44, 45; Rev 19:11-21), and of which Jesus taught his genuine disciples to pray for to "come" (Matt 6:10) and restore the genuine peace lost in the rebellion in the garden of Eden to the earth (Gen 3:1-6), transforming it into a paradise for the "meek" ones that will "inherit the earth" forever.(Ps 37:11, 29; Matt 5:5)
Thank you. Yes. My sentiments exactly. The change in our society has been done deliberately and on purpose. The cause is clearly documented and the "entities" that caused these changes are know by name. I cry for my country's salvation and pray as often as I can for the deity's forgiveness...Schlom.
I used to work for a classic movie cable tv channel when I was in my early 20's. This was one of the first films I was assigned to to make the TV promo for. I can credit this movie for being amongst the first to spark my love for classic films that came out long before I was born.
4th time I watched this movie. Just as enjoyable as the first time. I'll watch it again and again. They just do not make movies like they use to. Such a shame.
My late wife and I watched this movie every time it came on T.V. cuddled up on the couch or in bed. I miss her very much. So when ever I watch this move now. It brings back sweet memories of my little angel. Thank you. Btw this is an all star cast
Yes, I also watched old movies with my husband. I miss him, too, even after 17 years. We had our favorites, especially, It's a Wonderful Life. He said I was a lot like George because I always wanted to travel, but other things happened where I was needed. Being married to him was like having the sun, the moon and the stars. Sitting next to him watching old movies was my little heaven on earth.
How I wish that generation of respect, caring ,love of community still exist of today . We have come too far but sadly to say 😢it become opposite of the above mentioned So sad . Love the movie thank you for sharing . It’s classic movie that will never be forgotten 🙏🙏🙏
It's not fair, is it? As we elders now watch this demise, and this is still our country and right to still be here, and yet we watch it being torn down, and other generations are taking over America now with bizarre interests and entertainments and more.
What a lovely movie! I was born when this movie was made and I will be forever grateful that I lived during those days. Love and respect like we no longer have today.
We don't often get a great movie like this. I have watched this movie a number of times over the years. Thanks for posting it where many more may have an opportunity to view this wonderful movie. The kids of today don't seem to have the thirst for a fine movie such as this.
This is a generation of teachers long gone, who we'll never see again. Cheers to all the great teachers out there, who truly care if their students learn and succeed. Miss my good teachers.
Made me think of my first teacher. First day of school and I didn't like it so I just got up and went home. She came to check on me on her way home (she lived in my street). She was the best.
She kept her family's honor intact, by the sacrifice of her dreams, yet she found grand purpose in helping and understanding children. It was a great movie. She had a wonderful life and everyone loved her. The movie made me happy.
One of the most beautiful and uplifting movies ever made. Great cast, great story about a woman who gave up the love of her life in order to "due her duty" to her community. She never gave birth, but she raised and influenced thousands of children and touched the lives of a whole town. She never gossipped or lied and taught life lessons to children and adults.
It's a grand old fashioned movie...when we all had values & the family was the greatest institution & the first school we attended...greetings from Puerto Rico..Maria
I’m 67.I first saw this movie as a young child. In black and white of course. A lesson she taught one of her students also saved my life. Good movies are like all my loved ones and friends. They are all gone, and such movies are no longer made. And: Nothing is gained by swearing.
I love your description of what old movies are to you...I feel the exact same, thanks for putting it into words. Amazing that the movie played a part in the saving of your life! I've watched this movie once before and now I'm here to watch again. Love her sound, no nonsense wisdom.
the best teachers are the ones you remember with love in your heart. hello Mrs Bradley, l have never forgotten you my 4th grade teacher. the only teacher who ever really understood me and gave me a love of history thankyou x
A wonderful film. A teacher can potentially rescue an orphan like William and set him on a sure and certain path. Dining with a Jewish family did more than just set a good example. She demonstrated the American ideal of tolerance and fairness.
Until a few weeks ago I didn't realize this movie was available on UA-cam. I have watched it several times for fear it might be removed. I am thankful that it is still available to watch.
A very sweet movie with a terrific cast. Chuck Connors before he was The Rifleman, along with Jerry Paris and Richard Deacon before they were both on The Dick Van Dyke Show. Amazing work and a beautiful story.
I had a teacher like Miss Dove when I was in elementary school. In fact, most of our teachers were also our neighbors! It was a wonderful time in our lives. I wish my children, grandchildren and great grandchildren could have the same experience but, things have changed so dramatically today, teachers don’t even live in the same community. Such a shame!!!
Excellent movie from beginning to end. All new teachers should be made to watch this movie. It shows the importance of their jobs and the difference they can make in the lives of others.
Love this movie and how it makes us consider all of the wonderful teachers who give so much, things we take for granted! Thank you to all the teachers who invest their time and are making a difference for children everyday.
What an endearing movie. Her profession touched every generation thus creating a community of family, friends, and children who cared. She is stoic and rigid but one teacher in the lives of so many youngsters brought decency and respect to the profession and eventually to the adult lives of her students.

This movie should be shown to all people who take on the position of teachers. We need teachers like this in our communities now days. Strick Stern but loving. I had several teachers like this in my day. I'm 63. They teach you more than books but life.
It's 2024, I'm 63 years of age, a teacher of 38 years...what a story. In a smaller way, my former students who had children and grandchildren in my classes share their "stories" with me on ocassion. As Ms. Dove recovered in bed hearing the bells...it was like a miracle bringing me to Jennifer's role as Bernadette...
How respectful she was of all the students no matter who their families were . She may have been stern but those children learned and remembered her fondly...
We all that that one teacher, the one who no matter how old we get we always remember fondly and bring a smile to our faces Its been many many moons since high school but I still think of Mr S and and smile
If you and I and the rest of who liked your comment stay true to our beliefs and expectations.. there is hope that there is good out there in the world still. I promise you others do appreciate our existence. 🤍✨
What a sweet and touching movie. My Great-Aunt was an elementary school teacher for 40 years. At her memorial service 20 years ago, some of her students came and spoke of her very fondly. To be a teacher who impacts students so greatly the come and pay their respects....this movie touched me deeply.
I knew I would become a teacher after seeing this film. I was eight at the time and near sixty now. Like Miss Dove I'm ill and am unsure if I'll ever be able to teach again. Its almost too bitter a thought to bear.
I retired and I had a stroke but I never forgot how much I influenced my students and how much they influenced me. Teaching is noble profession to the right people.
YOU ARE SO RIGHT KATHY, THE STORYIS VERY WHOLESOME,& ENTERTAINING,SHE WAS SO GREAT IN ALL HER MOVIES, MY FAVORITE, WAS LOVE IS A MANY SPLENDID THING, WITH HER & WILLIAM HOLDEN
We need ALOT of Doves in this WORLD. There's no more Compassion, MORALS, Forgiveness, ND Most of All LOVE. REAL LOVE FROM THE HEART. WITH THAT JUST MAYBE WE CAN SAVE HUMANITY.
could not agree with your words more....these movies are a look back in time when things WERE like this and we have nearly forgotten. No way to bring back the past in regard to good qualities but is it too late? Have we rationalized it all away? Are we afraid of simpler times? We can use these movies as lessons of the past that were valuable and need rescuing from the abyss they are slipping into.
I saw this movie when it was on TV back in the 1960s & just adored it, then I found the novel and read that, too. Haven't seen this movie in ages--or the book. Thanks for the upload, such a touching film!
Well, I would like you to meet my daughter as she is good as Miss Dove. She called her pupils my babes and my wee cherubs. She shares her shawl with them when they feel cold in the classroom.
Great movie. What a cast! When I was a teacher, a colleague of mine died of cancer. Her memorial service was held at Forest Lawn in Covina Hills, CA. The place was packed - so packed people were standing outside. When I drove up, a guard stopped me and asked, "Who is this person? There's so many folks!" I replied with a bit of pride, "...a wonderful teacher." I'll never forget his smile. Maybe he was thinking of a teacher he loved, too.. Thank you for downloading.
Teachers are revered by their students and parents and in the end are memorialized by all. My cousin died last week, was a teacher and she will be getting a second memorial for all those who had to come pay their respects. We were thrilled that people placed her in such high regard as she was important to them and their children. Teachers are special.
I'm a retired teacher myself...Mr Jones was my 5th grade teacher who helped and nurtured me....met with my abusive father one day so I could get tennis shoes to play baseball and get permission to attend a school field trip he had earlier said I couldn't attend....but he gave in to Mr Jones requests on my behalf....I'd like to think I became a teacher because of him🤗
Krista Harmon your comment reminded me of my history teacher, while on her honeymoon broke her leg. It became gangrenous and she passed away. I can still remember her laughing voice. She’d married a most handsome man. I’m going back 54years. At age 15, 1955 I was shocked that he’d remarried so quickly.
I remember watching this movie so long ago, I was still a kid. But I loved the precise manner of Miss Dove. great movie though it didn't get a lot of love back then.
I suspect most have had a special teacher like Miss Dove. I certainly did...two or three in fact ....among the many outstanding dedicated teachers and professors from K through my final year at College. This was a very fine story with , per usual, Ms. Jennifer Jones outstanding in the lead role.
One of the finest films we've ever seen. Once again, Jennifer Jones pushes the boundaries of character acting and pulls off another award winning performance (or it should be). The scene where Robert Stack and the other actor carry Jennifer's Character from the school to the hospital with everyone following her is among the most beautiful scenes we have ever seen! Thanks so much for this experience.
Thanks for this upload. I saw this movie when I was a kid in the 1960s and loved it, also found the book in the library and read it. Miss Dove was devoted to her students; she was firm, but fair & kind. She had high standards and her pupils lived up to them.
AHHH!!! LET ME COUNT THE TIMES I HAVE SEEN THIS! THANK YOU! IT JUST IS ALWAYS A CLASSIC! When I was younger I didn't really appreciate it so much, and now that I am almost 67, I just love, love it! I just reminds me of when my three sons were small I guess.
I cried! Her "kids" loved and what's more appreciated her. What we see as an empty life, on closer inspection she changed lives which then impacted generations. I hope at the end of my life I have that kind of testimony.
They most CERTAINLY were NOT “her kids”! That is only 1 of the 1,000’s of problems with our current so called public schools. They believe and acts as if they do own the children. Parents, love and protect your most precious children; never, ever allow them to step foot in a public school; no matter the cost to you! They are purposefully dumbed down, Godless, manipulating, indoctrination centers. Maranatha!
Very true statement "What we see as an empty life, on closer inspection she changed lives which then impacted generations." Very selfless of her to give her life for other people by sacrificing personal gratification Our perception is much different than what she saw it. Still wish she was about to have her own family though
@@oksills You dishonor and disgrace parents and good teachers by your comments. Truly loving parents appreciate that good teachers do care for their pupils and love them as if they were their children while they respect the parents of such children. A child taught right be good parents can withstand any dangers faced in any school setting.
There are two teacher I still remember - Ms. Bass - English teacher in middle school and Ms. Mandossian - Biology teacher in high school. They left a lasting impression in my life 57 yrs later.
Wow that was a wonderful movie I cried thank you so much watching from Australia 🇦🇺
I Wish Times were Still like This..

Such a gem of a movie. To bad they don't make them like this anymore.
Good old-fashioned story that pulls at heart strings that need to be pulled more often. Hooray for Miss Dove!
This has been a favourite film of mine since I first saw it as a child - I'm 60 now and still looking forward to watching it again, !

Excellent film, reminds me of my headmaster at primary school, Mr G N Kniveton R.I.P. A giant among men!!
Everyone lived with such dignity. And I remember several teachers, one in particular. They leave a lasting impression. A beautiful movie.

I DO NOT KNOW HOW I GOT HERE BUT VERY GLAD THAT I DID. I LOVE THESE TYPES OF MOVIES. ABSOLUTELY LOVE THIS MOVIE ESPECIALLY THE LAST 5 MINUTES.
I remember my 2nd grade teacher Ms.rose she was the best in P.S.81k in Brooklyn. Their should have been more like her.
I enjoy this film very much, simpler times, thanks for uploading
I can't thank you enough for posting this. I absolutely love this film.

Until a few weeks ago I didn't realize this movie was available on UA-cam. I have watched it several times for fear it might be removed. I am thankful that it is still available to watch.
A lovely old fashioned film .... now I want another just as good .... just lovely!
+voyageurlady Seek out Jennifer in Love Letters if you are no familiar with it.
Another movie --- _Treasures of the Snow_ .. .... Also. _Stars in My Crown_ .
Cheers for Miss Bishop is a great movie too
A very sweet movie with a terrific cast. Chuck Connors before he was The Rifleman, along with Jerry Paris and Richard Deacon before they were both on The Dick Van Dyke Show. Amazing work and a beautiful story.
fantastic movie with great moral fiber. Miss Dove have such great strength of character.

A Beautiful story!! A teacher with lots of kids and people that loved her..

We never get tired of this one, do we? Thank you!
Ms Dove was a very PROUD behaving woman , but kind in her own way. I truly enjoyed this movie . Beautiful ending.
My Primary teacher was Sr. Mary Thomas whose kindness I remember well 75 years later. It was the best time of my life.
My 5th grade teacher was Mr. P.
He knew what kind of subject i really liked. Not math, not science, some English, sure, but when it came to chorale class.. .
He'd walk about the classroom, listening & encouraging us.
Me especially. He was a wonderful teacher ^ encouraged me to audition for "The Mikado". Yes, in 5th grade summer, going into 6th, we were acting out Gilbert & Sullivan's "The Mikado"!
Mr. D in 6th grade ~ Complete OPPOSITE!
Hardcore, mean, harsh & YOU'D better pass his class cuz NOBODY wants to have him again!
Meanwhile, we learned SO MUCH that when we were freshmen in h.s. our teacher, Mr. V, was flabbergasted that we (from an "inferior" school system) not only kinda, sorta knew the diagramming on a basic level...
We were told that we were diagramming at COLLEGE level!
If you could've seen the looks on the faces of those freshmen from the "superior" school system!
Thank you, Mr. D!
You were hardcore, but we learned, oh, did we learn!! God bless the teachers that still care!
1st time to see this movie, had a tear at the end.👋💕🇦🇺
This movie should be shown to all people who take on the position of teachers. We need teachers like this in our communities now days. Strick Stern but loving. I had several teachers like this in my day. I'm 63. They teach you more than books but life.
Integrity and self-restraint are valuable assets, and today they are all too rare. The world is greatly in need of more people who are like Miss Dove.
I profess to have very little, if not none, but agree, wholeheartedly, with your wish.
great movie. The effect of a good teacher on the future of children!
Excellent. I truly enjoyed it. Thank you for the post.
I am so jealous of those people who were alive look how beautiful towns were before too many people , cars, and chain stores
"Ms. Dove would say..."Rebecca, jealousy is a fault in character, and also a sin."
A very good upload of a beautiful and inspirational film. Many thanks for posting this.
As a retired teacher I am touched and thrilled by this movie.
Wow such feel good movie. I really enjoyed it. Thanks for posting
How respectful she was of all the students no matter who their families were . She may have been stern but those children learned and remembered her fondly...
Love, respect, structure and boundaries. All the things kids nowadays are missing!!
@@dianabarrick4663 this movie is stupid
We all that that one teacher, the one who no matter how old we get we always remember fondly and bring a smile to our faces

Who Said One Person Can Change The World Must Have Watched Good Morning Miss Dove!!!! Superb Indeed!!!! # She Who Knows!!!!
Lovely movie! Miss the days of respect, courtesy, decency and good manners etc. etc.

I retired and I had a stroke but I never forgot how much I influenced my students and how much they influenced me. Teaching is noble profession to the right people.
What a great movie! Jennifer Jones was fabulous!
This was the first time I heard of Good Morning, Miss Dove. It was terrific! I texted my mom telling her she needs to see it as well.
My mom turned me on to classic movies like this. It's one of the best. Also check out Song on Bernadette. I see it posted here as well.

How do you know they are not? What do you think they are all hooligans and hookers?
What happened to movies? Old as this is it's like a drink of fresh water! Where is the magic that lifted hearts and made movies memorable?
Gone forever, I'm afraid.
not that long ago since we used "handkerchiefs" .....and sneezed into them, thank you very much.
thats such a good question😊

I had a teacher just like Miss Dove in the 7th and 8th grade. Her name was Miss Twitchell.I'm 72 yrs. now but I never forgot her. What a teacher!!
Fab movie ,fab actors, fab script. What more would you wish for...💪❤️🌺
May I suggest you read the book for further fabu moments. It is a short story.

what a beautiful movie, and what a good lesson for all of us.
So glad I watched this movie. It is one of the feel good movies of the past. Wish they made movies like this today.
This brought tears to my eyes had. I watched this movie in high school or college, i would have been. A teacher
As a high school English teacher for the past 20 years, this speaks volumes!! Thank you so much..
Ditto.
I love classic movies. Thank you for uploading.
I love classic movies and just can’t believe I’d never heard of this amazing film. Thank you UA-cam for the recommendation 😊
This movie has made an impression on me in so many ways. I say this with tears in my eyes as I watch the end of the movie. A fine lady, Miss Dove.
What a wonderful movie. I wish i had a teacher like that when i was growing up! Great quality. Thank you!
Can not believe I never saw this movie. It is wonderful. Thank you...
One of my all-time favorites. My mom turned me on to this about 40 years back. Thanks for the post.
This is my 'go to' feel good movie. I just love it!
1955 - Miss Dove (Jennifer Jones) is a prim New England school teacher who is treasured by her students in the small town of Liberty Hill.
That was probably the most old fashioned movie I have ever seen. Delightful. Wonderful righteous woman. So worth watching. Just nice. Real nice.
Such a wonderful movie! So many good lessons to learn.
I watched this movie a hundred times, it never gets old
Maranatha!
Very true statement
"What we see as an empty life, on closer inspection she changed lives which then impacted generations."
Very selfless of her to give her life for other people by sacrificing personal gratification
Our perception is much different than what she saw it.
