- The Controversial Scene That Got Home Improvement Kicked Off The Air
With its 1991 premiere and hilarious portrayal of traditional American family values, Home Improvement quickly became a household brand. It launched Tim Allen to fame and established him as an iconic figure in American popular culture while he was its host. This comedy hit a nerve with viewers thanks to its blend of relatable family relationships and humorous Tool Time episodes, which featured the now-familiar grunt. Even though it was well praised, few people remember the complicated and controversial making of it, especially the scene that got home improvement kicked off the air.
The intriguing history of home remodeling is explored in depth in this movie, including its ascent, influence on popular culture, and major accomplishments.
The "signature grunt" was part of Tim Allen's stand up routine long before Home Improvement became a TV series.
I ALWAYS have had ( AND STILL D❤️ ! ) have the BIGGEST CRUSH ON JILL !!!!!!!!!
I thought Jill was🔥🔥
This was a good show to watch it never got kicked off the air
They never got kicked off the air !
Home improvement was a great show! A sad day when it ended.
They screwed up the infamous "grunt". Tim Allen started that grunt well before the show during his stand up comedy routines. In fact, if you watch his stand up and then watch the first season of Home Improvement, you will see many of the first few episodes were in fact based off of Tim Allen's stand up routines, to include "Rewires America" and "Men are Pigs". You can probably still find those routines on Netflix or UA-cam videos. Hilarious stuff!
Awesome show, Tim Allen does great work
ABC offered to do a 9th season, but Tim & Patricia Richardson turned it down. Also, Johnathan Taylor Thomas left the show in season 8
Never got kicked off. It was a great show.
Patricia Richardson always the best wife
One of the best tv shows Ever! awesome video Thankyou. Tim is a Legend
i liked Tims garbage disposal that was made of a 2-cycle engine. Jill should have won an award. i also liked when Tim accidentally knocked out Bob Villa with a piece of lumber.
It just goes to show that both Hollywood and TV doesn't and never did have a clue about the standards that the PUBLIC wanted and lived.
I miss Home Improvement! I will never forget the segment when Jill's Nomad got destroyed.
I will always love tool time show..
The show ran its full term and wasn’t kicked off the air and I remember the towel scene big deal
How did Allen go from this liberal episode and defense of it, to Last Man Standing where everything he utters is "Trumpy" and anti Obama?
Many of us remember that scene,, Tim without his shirt,, he grounded a connection electrocuting himself which painfully rendered his left arm limp and useless. I busted a gut because like some of you,, "been there dun that" and remembered the pain 🙂
The series finale aired 25 years on May 15, 1999
This is all over the place
Accidents do happen. It's what you do. How you handle it.
Old school the best 😍🤣😝👍
We believe he was also “no longer needed” in the ABC family network- since he was becoming more vocal about where he stood politically - where he’s actually now is very casually open with his comedic views on his new show (on another network),that would allow him to make fun / puns on certain politicians in office. ~ we believe that’s more likely the reason why Home Improvement sitcom was dropped.
Howdy This is pure comedy ,just love it . Everyone can have a good time watching this show . And it seems like they care for each other . What a show just love it . Take Care Mike
I miss this show. Love it. However this you tube video is about Home Improvment. Why so many clips from Last Man Standing. They don't belong here as this wasn't about that show. I lost track of how many there where. They should not be there !!!
Great show!
Hope all is well with the cast ❤
I seem to remember Tim Allen complaining about being kicked off the air because he was a conservative. And made a comment when a female comedian show was ended because of her stands publicly.
Tim Allen is great, awesome, funny, amazing I loved HOME IMPROVEMENT SHOW IT WAS A GREAT,AMAZING AWESOME WONDERFUL FUNNY I LOVE THE SNOW... IT WAS GREAT..
1 episode would not get a series off the air.. if the network didn't like it.. that episode would simply never be shown and in fact that did happen often for some series.. though often the episode would get reworked to the networks liking.. though I have heard of a few sit-coms that did have unaired episodes for this reason.
In this movie?
They did an episode on drugs
nice video
THANK YOU FOR SHARING 👀 🤔
