    As a mother of someone with schizophrenia, families need to support their loved one's.

    I see four seperate social workers, and luckily for me they are all qualified and great. I actually consider them friends, and I engage in a different wellness activity with each one.

    I was shocked to discover that a month’s worth of Risperadal is about $187 in the States.
    I know a lot of American workers have health insurance, but the fact that drugs like this retail for such an extortionate rate means there are gonna be those, maybe the guy in this video, who will never have access to medication, and had some Obamacare-type system been implemented, maybe dude could’ve got the required help/drugs and tragic incidents like the train situation could’ve been prevented.
    (Apologies for bringing politics into this discussion.)

      Yes meds here can be expensive. However healthcare like Medicare or Medicaid make them much cheaper. That is however if you have the know how to get yourself on either of those programs. For myself personally without insurance I’d pay around $1000 for all combined. With insurance I pay $15 for all combined.

    Well...they want to bring back the state run mental hospitals and throw away the key, get rid of SSI..for poor folks like me whose families aim embarrassed to be adopted by when I was three. ( out of the frying....pan...into the fire..that's my tragic childhood.)

      Thank you for sharing. I think SSI is very important. I think we really need housing. Fountain House In NYC helps with that.

      You’re missing a key part. Treatment. Housing and food will not fix mental illness or people who refuse treatment.

    They've been shutting down psychiatric hospitals since the advent of antipsychotic meds in the 1950s. Every president since Kennedy promised to take the funding from closing the hospitals and put it into community support for the mentally ill, but no president has done anything but close doors. Last I knew, the biggest mental health provider in NYC was Rikers Island. NY needs to do what Los Angeles did and open a huge community hospital. It's a sad state of things. We need to keep our governments in check. Beginning July 16, 2022, all Americans can call 988 for mental health emergencies. I share your dislike of social workers (forced treatment/waste of time), but hopefully, they can help out in emergency situations domestic or otherwise

      @@SchizophrenicNYC Unfortunately, no. I checked my notes, and in the recent past (2018) the three biggest mental health providers in the United States were L.A. County Jail, Rikers Island, and Cook County Jail in Chicago in that order. This is the talking point in the movie, "Bedlam", which chronicles the building of the L.A. psychiatric hospital to help deal with homelessness. That the three biggest mental health providers in the country were jails I believe originally came to light in the 2018 book, “Insane: America’s Criminal Treatment of Mental Illness”. I saw "Bedlam" on PBS and later bought it on Amazon Prime Video. You might be able to still rent it on Amazon.

    عندما يكون ولي الامر عادل بين الناس فانه يخاف أن يظلم احد من الناس وكذا الحيوانات.انا عربي مسلم تابعت مقطعك هذا كاملا فذكرت حديث حول أن ولي الامر يجلب الامن لاهل المكان اذا فزعوا.فهذا الرسول محمد عندما فزع اهل المدينة في الليل خرج على فرس عري لابي طلحة يتأكد من الصوت الذي سمعوه خارج المدينة.فعاد من المكان الذي سمعوا منه الصوت فطمأنهم بقوله لن تراعوا ،اي لا تخافوا.

      Jesus Christ of Nazareth is God in the flesh. The only way to Heaven is through Jesus. If you haven't accepted Jesus as your personal Lord and Savior then you are doomed to an eternity separated from God Almighty and sentenced to an eternity with Satan burning forever in the Lake of Fire! Please come to Jesus before it's too late. He is the only one to defeat death and the grave and who raised people from the dead. He suffered such a horrible death because He loves us so much and wanted us to have a way to Heaven so He took on our sins on that cross! Jesus Christ of Nazareth is the Truth, the Life and the Way! He is the ONLY way! There is no other! Praise God!! 🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌

    What is your problem with social workers?

    • @SchizophrenicNYC
      @SchizophrenicNYC  2 роки тому +3

      Lol. My problem with social workers comes from my brand Schizophrenic.NYC. I have been told by people, who tell me they are social workers - therefore they MUST know more than me - that my brand is a label and it’s wrong. I’ve been told they are trying to teach me. That first person language is the only way to go and blah blah blah. And it comes 99% from social workers. I always thought social workers were supposed to listen and hear people out. Not tell me how wrong I am.
