toy freddy's joke status actually most likely starts around when fnaf 4 came out! someone made a post asking why scott hates toy freddy; given there are no nightmare toys/lack of unique mechanics/no fnaf 3 minigame. scott responded w/; "You people don't UNDERSTAND Toy Freddy. He's a very reclusive and private animatronic. He spends his evenings curled up reading a good book. He doesn't like the limelight. So please be respectful of Toy Freddy. He's retired." and i remember THAT'S when the community really upped the joke status. of course i will be ignoring ALL of that in favor of the dayshift at freddy's idea because it's funny
The kids turning Mangle into a metal tumble weed was actually a cover up for the Gamer Rage of 87. An event in which Toy Freddy lost a game of Tetris and proceeded to beat the crap out of Mangle for being in his general vicinity. He has since went to anger management and has mellowed down. In addition Mangle made a full recovery... right before being scrapped alongside all the other toy animatronics.
My favorite version of toy Freddy is definitely ar’s version. I like the fact he doesn’t really understand what he’s doing and genuinely believes he’s just trying to help, and it feels like a call back to the fact animatronics thought Night guards were Endo skeletons. Honestly he’s one of my favorite bears in this franchise! Glad he became more then a gamer.
It's my favorite because it plays off of the one thing that's consistently scary to mr about FNaF: these are robots, they're lethal _without_ the possession. The ghosts aren't actively biting you, they're taking advantage of the fact that they can activate pistons to make the vessel move and that if someone "just so happened" to get their head lodged between the animatronic's jaw while the "speaking performance" animation is activated, well... unless the ghost takes action again to deactivate the motion, the animatronic isn't exactly going to stop until there's enough flesh caught in the gears or a strong enough bone blocking the way.
Toy Freddy had a unique brand of uncanny to him. All of the Toy line are arguably the closest to what you'd see in a animatronic entertainment facility, but there's still the slightest bit off. I didn't really find the gamer thing from UCN funny mostly because it was just a meta reference to all the fans poking fun at him. Well that and I feel like it significantly reduced that original uncanny valley feeling his original appearance has.
I unironically like how difficult Toy Freddy is in his appearances. I feel like he's having a mid life identity crisis and it's funnier with his goofy voice
When I was visiting my mom in the hospital a couple of days ago, I got into a lively conversation with a paramedic about the games (I was wearing my Freddy Fazbear's Pizza shirt and he joked that he would never ever want pizza from there...) and when we got to Ruin, I recommended your video explaining what could've happened to Glamrock Bonnie and showed him how to find your channel. I hope he watches and sticks around for more.
As a teen, I actually considered Toy Freddy one of my favourite characters. I was all about him, Withered Chica, the Puppet and Shadow Bonnie when it came to FNAF 2. I think it's because he has that cuddly, chonky quality and that I also envisioned him as like a circus ringmaster of sorts. Years later, returning to FNAF, I was definitely surprised to see how he had evolved over the years. Even with his gamer angle in UCN, and sounding a lot like Barney the Dinosaur in Special Delivery, I still love him.
Given how active Scot is in the FNAF fan game scene, it honestly wouldn’t surprise me if he had heard of Dayshift at Freddy’s. One must wonder how Scott felt when he saw Ol’ Sportsy and fabulous Las Vegas.
I'd have done Toy Freddy as a bizarre anomaly even among the animatronics. Hints at something being wrong with it, not in a "it kills people" way, but in a "someone built it wrong" way. A note here or there by an employee remarking how weird it is that unlike the other "new" animatronics, the Freddy just _doesn't talk._ They had to put a third-party speaker inside its head and remotely operate it for it to sing as part of the band; no matter what they did with this Freddy, it just _wouldn't have a voice._ Dead silence and empty stares. Rather than keep spending money trying to "fix" it, they installed a workaround. Then in UCN and such, it has no kill lines. You just get its face staring at you without a word.
I love how Toy Freddy’s character went from being a spooky bear about a murdered kid getting revenge on there killer, to someone who becomes the most incredible gamer of all time who thinks getting jumpscared is unfair and also is Freddy but Chad.
Honestly, he has always been my favorite Freddy before this….but maybe I’m biased just because I can perfectly replicate his voice. He’s honestly just kind of fun, I had always imagined him getting along with the gamer kids and that’s why they made him the way that they did.
I don't know which is funnier, Scott knowing about Dayshift at Freddy's or Toy Freddy being such a potato of an animatronic that multiple people just decided he was to suffer like this independently. But, a lovely retrospective into the poor existence of the invisible step child that is Toy Freddy. May he either be the rising esports star he deserves to be, or just be an average alright okay animatronic. That works too.
I like to think that Toy Freddy is aware that he's a rebrand of a rebrand, but still tries to live up to his predecessors, by being more concerning with kids and persuasive with the other animatronics. Which makes it all the more tragic that he was scraped. In other words, I love Ar's depiction of this plastic gamer!
Just for anyone curious, toy freddy actually had his own unique gimmick in ar, that being a power drain that suddenly begins alongside flashing red lights. Just put the mask on for a moment and it stops, simple as that.
Honestly? He was introduced in FNaF 2, as the front runner of the updated/upgraded tracking software. The way he sounds and acts, what if it's meant to be for a kid? Like hes MEANT to treat EVERYONE like a child, to protect/care, which then gets overridden by his desire to kill. He always seemed gentle to me.
I always saw Freddy as the more mature character of the Fazbear characters. So seeing him made into this more childish version with the toy animatronics didn't sit well with me, even though looking more childish is the point of Toy Fred's design.

Tbh yeah, being able to talk about Dayshift at Freddy's is worth the credibility, can't disagree with that. (Also a potential vid about what other things those fangames may have brought to the community as a whole could be pretty nice ngl) Great vid as always, not much else to say on this vid tbh, I just hope they keep Toy Freddy's personality from AR if they plan on including him in new games. Also now that I think about it there's probably going to be a vid about Toy Bonnie now, that only makes sense given all the other Toys got a vid, but will there even be much to say about him? I mean apart from how kinda jarring he was when he first appeared in Fnaf 2 (i think the most accurate description would be "twink", but even then I'm not sure)
Toy Freddy definitely looks best with the black eyes, reminds me more of a teddy that way 😃 I wonder if they made him fuzzy how that would affect his popularity 🤔
Toy Freddy my beloved. Its honestly kind of inspiring how Toy Freddy went from one of the least talked about characters, to being on the same level as the other Toys. Although, if I were to say one other fangame (before UCN) that had Toy Freddy in a prominent role, it would be Five Nights at F*ckboys, the other RPG Maker FNAF game with 3 games in the series. In FNAFB 2 Toy Freddy is the protagonist, he's the cause of the Vile jokes, he appears somewhat frequently in FNAFB 3 Act 3, and he's also the only Toy animatronic to survive the series apparently. So if you count him in DSAF 2 as prominent, Toy Freddy has had 2 prominent roles in RPG Maker FNAF Games... neat. I also find it funny how Canon, DSAF and FNAFB Toy Freddy are all *completely* different from each other. Lol.
I do recall you did use to do some walkthroughs for dayshift at Freddy's, though the only one I’ve watched is the one that appeared in my recommendeds (which ironically was the eggplant ending lol) but it does seem like an interesting game! If this fan game really did help shape the Toy Freddy we all know and perhaps others, that’s something the whole fandom could be proud of. Great video!
At 9:14 Toy Freddy is basically like Pyro (TF2) where he isn't really aware what he is doing and he thinks he's playing with you but is actually attacking you.

I think it's worth noting that despite being the joke character in UCN, he's also basically the final boss of 50/20 mode's first major successful strategy right alongside FNaF 1 Foxy because they are both the unflinchingly and purely random elements you cannot do anything to mitigate while not letting other far more annoying and immediately deadly animatronics through. Circus Baby, Nightmare Bonnie and Nightmare Mangle get held up by a camera focused on their waiting room. Funtime Foxy demands your attention, but can be death-coined immediately before things cascade out of control. Most other animatronics can be dealt with without looking at the cameras due to being based primarily on visual or sound cues that happen at the door itself or through different sub-menus. Foxy himself can be slightly mitigated because once he becomes an inevitable threat, he still has a countdown in place that forces you to ration monitor usage before he actually gets you. Even the extra animatronics Dee Dee summons have methods of placating them that don't require any more or less effort with the cameras. Toy Freddy is not forgiving like them. You pray Mr. Hugs just stops at the same door all night, because if you look there you let Baby and her merchandise squad in. You can't death coin him because even if showtime is at 6 AM, Funtime Foxy's check takes priority over the night ending. And if Mr. Hugs takes a separate door, it's over. No matter what doors are up, what lures or heating you have up, or how many times you put up or keep down the monitor. If he gets jumpscared, YOU get jumpscared.
I never expected to hear anybody saying Toy Freddy's name so many times! Thought that everyone will just keep him in the corner forever. I am that 0.5% of the people who genuinely likes Toy Freddy (and not as a joke). But i was always ok with him being overlooked, because i never was like annoyed when i see "joke-of-a-gamer-Toy Freddy" moment. People do what they do and i have my headcanon Toy Freddy with the bigger role so everybody is happy. To be honest, it is very comfortable to have the "that other guy" type like Toy Freddy as favourite because you can do absolutely anything with him and people will don't say anything about it (i have a weird hangout with background characters, don't take it seriously) Love that one of my favorite UA-camrs made such a cool video of one of my favourite Freddy's ❤️
Since alot of people are speculating that Freddy Foxy Bonnie and Chica are coming to Fortnite for this years “Fortnightmares” I really hope we get a toy Freddy alternate skin. Also, you should do a full video on day shift at Freddie’s!
I personally would have LOVED if toy Freddy was a stereotypical gentleman. What I mean by that is like he has a fancy man British accent, extremely exaggerated, he was all into tea even if he couldn’t drink it etc etc. That would have been honestly more funny for toy Freddy because of how goofy he looks

I was one of the first people to cosplay Toy Freddy before FNAF 2 even released. I was a little awkward teenager and saw all the other characters getting love except him. I love what he has become. People used to characterize him as a vain pompous jerk, and I love the karma of Toy Bonnie getting that characterization instead.
Few things I learned from this video: 1. I now love Toy Freddy. His characterization in Special Delivery is amazing, his voice is great, and those voice lines now that I’m hearing them fully are really good. 2. Special Delivery can make almost any character more likable and better characterized. From Mangle to Toy Freddy they keep nailing them one after another. Kinda makes me sad the game is kinda dead now…
I remember during the early days of FNaF, everyone made "Toy Freddy is fat" jokes. INCLUDING ME WHEN I WAS A KID. That's all he kinda was back then. I'm so glad they gave him a proper personality in FNaF AR, I really like it on him ♡
Before I watch the entire video, here are my thoughts on Toy Freddy; I'd like to say I absolutely love Toy Freddy as a character. I remember always getting upset at people for making fun of him back in the day, and long before he was given the 'angry gamer' characterization. I was big into making AUs (alternate universes) and I always strived to make Toy Freddy this sweetheart of a character, sort of like someone you can always talk to- he'd be willing to listen. Sounds stupid considering I'm talking about animatronics here but you gotta remember this was in 2014-2015, the FNaF fandom was ripe with giving these guys distinct personalities, and I was simply one in the crowd doing so.
Funnily enough, from what I saw from other people's interpretation is that toy freddy was "the new and serious boss in town" and then in UCN he basically became the complete opposite
OH MY GODDDD YES this is my favourite interpretation of him. He’s just a jolly and whimsical guy. Gentle and friendly and would dress like a grandad if he wore clothes. He’s my absolute favourite, I love him so much
So that's Mangle, Chica, BB and now Freddy. I think you mentioned Bonnie's change up in Chica's video, and of course there's still your beloved Puppet. Interesting how along with the classics and other newbies without much prefix (Springtrap, Ballora, Baby), the Toys got as much attention with AR skins. While Silver Eyes makes sense to have the refurbished classics in 1995, might be interesting if Into the Pit described the bots like the Unwithereds for '85. The few times animatronics appear in Frights, I don't think they go much beyond the classics. And while only open for a few weeks, this was the Fazbear crew - around a 6 year gap to our knowledge compared to the 4 years between 83-87. I do recall seeing a future cover with Toy Freddy though... Almost wonder about a discussion on the Toys as a group, or even each roster across the games (plus Twisteds) Of course props that you could mention DSAF. Hope there can be more here like a re-narration of your older vids pre mic.

I mean, it makes sense for Toy Freddy to be silly in UCN. If the Toy animatronics were never haunted, and you’re playing as William in hell in UCN, the toy animatronics never really have a purpose other than to just annoy William
I have always defended Toy Freddy, not just from being my favorite character, but from the fact he’s more than an angry gamer bear. He’s actually like a grizzly bear: Intelligent, but naive. Friendly, but can get aggressive. And stepping away from the bear stance, Toy Freddy is shown to be remorseful in some way. Like you pointed out in the video, he thinks he’s playing silly games until something goes wrong and someone is dead. (FNAF AR) And as for the gaming part, because he’s a gamer he became aware of copyright and patents. It would make sense, right? He sat in the back playing video games and obviously became familiar with the copyright logos in the bottom left or right. (An example would be Five Nights With Mr. Hugs, having copyright to Scott for FNAF). You pointed out in not one, but two lines of his he says copyright or patent. Also, if this is the case he would probably be aware of the games within the universe. (FNAF 1-FFPS and maybe even FNAF VR as, it was made to poke fun at all the “lies” a rogue indie-game developer made.) It feels kinda strange for him to know those laws exist, without any knowledge of the games. He is also aware of his appearance, much like Toy Chica and many others, and proceeds to use it in his lines. “I have these fat plastic fingers and can’t press the buttons.” He’s always made me laugh and I even resemble his appearance in some ways. Either way, hope this informs people on the true light of my favorite bear and you know he’s more than meets the eye. Thank you and have a great day/night!
ngl i like his actually playful personality in AR i feel like SOO many of the fnaf animatronics play off this "let's play~" sinister persona that him being actually playful not only makes sense but also is a breath of fresh air for me. though mangle will always be my #1, and i def don't put him at the top of my list, i feel like this has made me like him more.
Toy Freddy does strike me as the type of animatronic who’d kill you brutally as an accident and immediately start apologizing to your mangled, bleeding corpse, as opposed to the others who’ll probably just feast on your remains.
In my headcannon(obviously not real) Toy Freddy retired after the FNAF 2 pizzaria closed down and he moved on to become the next best Twitch streamer and Discord mod
I really love Toy Freddy's personality of being clumsy and a bit dumb (I say that with utmost respect) and it really fits with and contrasts Glamrock Freddy's personality.
I wonder if Angry Gamer Toy Freddy was more the result of a game design decision. Scott or someone else involved (he had a full-on team by UCN, right?) were looking for different gameplay modes, and hit upon "we heard you like FNaF so we put FNaF in your FNaF" and needed a character to attach this mechanic to. Toy Freddy didn't already have a unique mechanic to replicate and no personality traits to suggest anything, so he got picked for it. And then they gave him a personality to match his new gameplay role. Maybe this process was nudged on by a general awareness that TF was only ever thought of as a joke if he was thought of at all, but I still suspect it was a game design decision first.
In the way that I enjoy Roxy in RUIN because she comes off as how she's intended to be I adore AR's Toy Freddy, he has that feel to him that this is how the animatronics are intended to function and behave I could picture him saying "are you sure you want that to be your hiding spot?" to children who aren't particularly good at hiding but are eager enough to want to participate or something, it's oddly precious and it just makes me want to see more FNAF content that strays away from the usual spooky shenanigans, the fabled Pizza Sim's infinite tycoon would be a great spot to show that off for instance :)
The way I see it, Toy Freddy from AR is him in general at work, happy. Toy Freddy in UCN is him in an episode where he gets fired for the episode and becomes an angry gamer until the place suffers without him and he needs to be taken back. Sort of like how a few SpongeBob episodes played out in slightly different ways. Squid on Strike, the first SpongeBob Movie, that episode where Patrick takes SpongeBob's place and he goes nuts. Probably more.

I use to follow somebody named Comyet/Myebi in deviantart that had her own AU of fnaf, based purely in fnaf 1, 2, and 3(Even after the reveal about some Canon lore and more fnaf games) she was very creative with her lore, and something that I really liked was her Toy Freddy Portraying, in that AU Toy Freddy Aka Fedric was a cold, no very friendly bossy animatronic, he was sassy even, he hated children and his way of looking his workmates Toy Bonnie/BonBon(Yes, Comyet made him a girl), Toy Chica/Chii, Toy Tricky(Comyets own Toy Golden Freddy oc) and even his girlfriend Mangle/Vixen was as some kind of harem, Myebi mentions that Fedric use to be more like that Teddy Bear that likes to sing and get his ego power up by children, but maybe like the Daycare Attendant he became more descencanted(is that the word?) with his live and work, specially after Mangle's now role as a repairing and destroying game for kids. Ironicaly(AGAIN, THAT IS HOW YOU SAY IT?) he was pretty much a cheater lol.
Oh, I like that characterization! 8D I love to see AUs where folks go at characters at a different angle. Because I could see Toy Freddy- especially UCN Toy Freddy- having a side like that!

But this creative Liberty doesnt not end here, She Make The robots be ALIVE. She didnt Make Them revengeful BEINGS, they we're silly robots that bcause of The Magic of The souls gifted by The Puppet(Whose Name was Nette and was an Antagonist and Pretty much The other animatronics Dictator) were Alive, but all of Them had a personality that matches The programmed personality of their AIs. Besides Myebi's Portraying of Toy Freddy, I loved her version of: 1. Golden Freddy, Aka Torikku, Aka Tricky..Aka Goldie. Golden was probably The favorite of Myebi, at least The fact of Him being very explore in this AU tell us that. Golden can fall in The UwU Uke stereotype, but Golden was Also a traumatized being that had The power to destroy NETTE but was totally nerf by his programmed personality that Make Him submissive, obedient and shy, this Guy was capable of pulling out of The floor a whole piano With one finger, float, teleport and since he did not have a voice box...FUCKING TELEPATY(IDK HOW TO WRITE IT IN ENGLISH). He was a good killer, and he Also was another Character 'Mask', an attraction in Fazbear Frights, and his dark side. 5. Last but not less important: Toy Tricky, Myebi's Toy Golden Freddy oc, this guy had two versions, one from the earlies of Myebi's AU and other from her AU Remake, He First was showed to being a more sadist and perverse version of Golden, He was able to float and another Magic things, and as Golden, This Toy Golden Freddy was a Magician. Torikku had a reference page now remove from Myebi's deviantatt we're we can see how much of a Monster and a *Child* he was, he was a Pretty cute gremlin(Balloon Boy was Nette's Voice box so somebody had to cover the problem child that nobody likes role), he liked sweets, he was a hats thieft, a Circus magician..and the most CHILD of all the animatronics by being Noisy, Extrovert and Selfish, he was Also the same heigh as Balloon Boy and was potrayed as Toy Freddy's little brother by Fazbear Entertainment. But, Tricky was Also a bloodluster, like, he literally likes blood, and was a cruel bully to Golden, somebody that could kill Him in anytime, he only cared about himself and was Also pervert in The gay way, since he's Character was meant to resemble The Shota stereotype in a deep way. Then The remake happend, and now he had an ACTUAL reason of WHY Tricky was so Selfish, and as opossite as one might thing, considerating that his BOSS and Big brother didnt really cared about Him It was a Smart thing. Now, Tricky did not have power, he cannot run or Make suddent movements bcause his fursuit was literally TOO HEAVY + His clothes!, Tricky now needed to only care about himself bcause in a place like Myebi's AU you literally could die for being a good person, that or being tortured by Nette. Tricky stopped being a blood lover, now, he became a really person...a helpless Child forced to became adult by his circunstances, he still a Bad person, but, he doesnt really had another choice. all The other characters think he is anoying and they don't like Him very much, Freddy that is a really Sweet Guy here finds Him..weird. Tricky is really fond of Toy Freddy(Has a weird crush on Him), Freddy(Bcause he looks like Toy Freddy, a perfect replacemnt in case he cannot charms Toy Freddy), and Golden. His relationship With Golden is one of fake power, Golden is The powerful one physicaly, but he is The weakest in personality, Tricky is cruel and Sweet at The same time With Him, he sees Him as his REAL brother, somebody that he can control..at least, he can pretend he is The BOSS and not The victim kid this time. I Also forgot to mention two things: besides Tricky, theres no other character in The AU that acts like The age of their souls, all The other ones had some childish parts, but they act as adults. The other thing is that nobody besides Nette remembers their past life.
Bro I would fucking ADORE any sort of videos on Dayshift at Freddy's Like do your normal character analysis series, but this time for Dayshift. Or just do an analysis of the story since Dayshift is geniunelly one of my biggest inspirations as a writer, i strive to be able to write smth that is equal parts shitpost and equal parts geniunelly heartfelt and beautiful.

I like the characterisation of him not knowing what he’s actually doing and thinking he’s just innocently playing, his original jumpscare actually fits that pretty well I think. It’s not scary. I’ve never thought it was scary. Toy chica and toy bonnie’s jumpscares are creepy and they full on jump at you, but toy freddy’s looks more like a “Boo! Got you!” kinda thing, like he’s playing hide and seek with a child. He’s so cute

For some reason as a kid Toy Freddy scared me the most out of every animatronic. I still have no explanation for this, and I still think he's weird and off-putting.

Toy freddy is the dad that Try's his best, he is silly and goofy, but he cares, though you mess him up when he is gaming he snaps in a fit of anger, making flimsy excuses

If one of the next games will be a circus one like people think I hope it’s some mix of the pizzaplex and Disney world and if you have it steroids and toy Freddy has his own area as I can see the circus being 1 land but toy Freddy would have an area that’s basically Disney quest and it is in the disrepair it was in before it closed but it’s due to toy Freddys gamer rage. For me Toy Freddy is a guy with diabetes who is an game enthusiast (or gamer) who is good with children and games since he still have his inner child but knows where to set bounderies. He is othervise quite ordinarly and might have grone up bullied or ostersised in school but don't let the lows of life keep him down, he might also have some undiagnosed mental illnes but he have learned to live with it and can control it. It's not really known if his diabetes is inherited or developed but he grew chuby from prefering to play games and hang out with his internet friends (might be Toy Bonnie and Toy Chica) and comfort eating
I can describe how happy i am to seeing this video, Toy Freddy was always my been favorite animatronic and i was so mad when UCN came out because he was reduced as a joke and is not very talked in the community so seeing this videos was a surprise

The kids turning Mangle into a metal tumble weed was actually a cover up for the Gamer Rage of 87. An event in which Toy Freddy lost a game of Tetris and proceeded to beat the crap out of Mangle for being in his general vicinity.
He has since went to anger management and has mellowed down.
In addition Mangle made a full recovery... right before being scrapped alongside all the other toy animatronics.

My favorite version of toy Freddy is definitely ar’s version. I like the fact he doesn’t really understand what he’s doing and genuinely believes he’s just trying to help, and it feels like a call back to the fact animatronics thought Night guards were Endo skeletons. Honestly he’s one of my favorite bears in this franchise! Glad he became more then a gamer.

Who guarantees that Toy Freddy is naive in AR? There is something called manipulation and another called provocation.
It's my favorite because it plays off of the one thing that's consistently scary to mr about FNaF: these are robots, they're lethal _without_ the possession. The ghosts aren't actively biting you, they're taking advantage of the fact that they can activate pistons to make the vessel move and that if someone "just so happened" to get their head lodged between the animatronic's jaw while the "speaking performance" animation is activated, well... unless the ghost takes action again to deactivate the motion, the animatronic isn't exactly going to stop until there's enough flesh caught in the gears or a strong enough bone blocking the way.
Toy Freddy had a unique brand of uncanny to him. All of the Toy line are arguably the closest to what you'd see in a animatronic entertainment facility, but there's still the slightest bit off. I didn't really find the gamer thing from UCN funny mostly because it was just a meta reference to all the fans poking fun at him. Well that and I feel like it significantly reduced that original uncanny valley feeling his original appearance has.

As a teen, I actually considered Toy Freddy one of my favourite characters. I was all about him, Withered Chica, the Puppet and Shadow Bonnie when it came to FNAF 2. I think it's because he has that cuddly, chonky quality and that I also envisioned him as like a circus ringmaster of sorts. Years later, returning to FNAF, I was definitely surprised to see how he had evolved over the years. Even with his gamer angle in UCN, and sounding a lot like Barney the Dinosaur in Special Delivery, I still love him.

Given how active Scot is in the FNAF fan game scene, it honestly wouldn’t surprise me if he had heard of Dayshift at Freddy’s. One must wonder how Scott felt when he saw Ol’ Sportsy and fabulous Las Vegas.
I'd have done Toy Freddy as a bizarre anomaly even among the animatronics. Hints at something being wrong with it, not in a "it kills people" way, but in a "someone built it wrong" way. A note here or there by an employee remarking how weird it is that unlike the other "new" animatronics, the Freddy just _doesn't talk._ They had to put a third-party speaker inside its head and remotely operate it for it to sing as part of the band; no matter what they did with this Freddy, it just _wouldn't have a voice._ Dead silence and empty stares. Rather than keep spending money trying to "fix" it, they installed a workaround.
Then in UCN and such, it has no kill lines. You just get its face staring at you without a word.
I love how Toy Freddy’s character went from being a spooky bear about a murdered kid getting revenge on there killer, to someone who becomes the most incredible gamer of all time who thinks getting jumpscared is unfair and also is Freddy but Chad.
Honestly, he has always been my favorite Freddy before this….but maybe I’m biased just because I can perfectly replicate his voice. He’s honestly just kind of fun, I had always imagined him getting along with the gamer kids and that’s why they made him the way that they did.
I don't know which is funnier, Scott knowing about Dayshift at Freddy's or Toy Freddy being such a potato of an animatronic that multiple people just decided he was to suffer like this independently.
But, a lovely retrospective into the poor existence of the invisible step child that is Toy Freddy. May he either be the rising esports star he deserves to be, or just be an average alright okay animatronic. That works too.
I like to think that Toy Freddy is aware that he's a rebrand of a rebrand, but still tries to live up to his predecessors, by being more concerning with kids and persuasive with the other animatronics. Which makes it all the more tragic that he was scraped. In other words, I love Ar's depiction of this plastic gamer!
Just for anyone curious, toy freddy actually had his own unique gimmick in ar, that being a power drain that suddenly begins alongside flashing red lights. Just put the mask on for a moment and it stops, simple as that.
Honestly? He was introduced in FNaF 2, as the front runner of the updated/upgraded tracking software. The way he sounds and acts, what if it's meant to be for a kid? Like hes MEANT to treat EVERYONE like a child, to protect/care, which then gets overridden by his desire to kill. He always seemed gentle to me.
Always feel like dayshift at Freddy's deserves more credit. The sheer amount of shenanigans in that game series is just gold.
I always saw Freddy as the more mature character of the Fazbear characters. So seeing him made into this more childish version with the toy animatronics didn't sit well with me, even though looking more childish is the point of Toy Fred's design.

Toy Freddy my beloved. Its honestly kind of inspiring how Toy Freddy went from one of the least talked about characters, to being on the same level as the other Toys.
Although, if I were to say one other fangame (before UCN) that had Toy Freddy in a prominent role, it would be Five Nights at F*ckboys, the other RPG Maker FNAF game with 3 games in the series. In FNAFB 2 Toy Freddy is the protagonist, he's the cause of the Vile jokes, he appears somewhat frequently in FNAFB 3 Act 3, and he's also the only Toy animatronic to survive the series apparently. So if you count him in DSAF 2 as prominent, Toy Freddy has had 2 prominent roles in RPG Maker FNAF Games... neat.
I also find it funny how Canon, DSAF and FNAFB Toy Freddy are all *completely* different from each other. Lol.

I do recall you did use to do some walkthroughs for dayshift at Freddy's, though the only one I’ve watched is the one that appeared in my recommendeds (which ironically was the eggplant ending lol) but it does seem like an interesting game! If this fan game really did help shape the Toy Freddy we all know and perhaps others, that’s something the whole fandom could be proud of. Great video!

Also in case you're wondering where, this was in response to someone asking about a lack of Nightmare Toy Freddy during the Halloween Update for FNaF 4.
I think it's worth noting that despite being the joke character in UCN, he's also basically the final boss of 50/20 mode's first major successful strategy right alongside FNaF 1 Foxy because they are both the unflinchingly and purely random elements you cannot do anything to mitigate while not letting other far more annoying and immediately deadly animatronics through.
Circus Baby, Nightmare Bonnie and Nightmare Mangle get held up by a camera focused on their waiting room.
Funtime Foxy demands your attention, but can be death-coined immediately before things cascade out of control.
Most other animatronics can be dealt with without looking at the cameras due to being based primarily on visual or sound cues that happen at the door itself or through different sub-menus.
Foxy himself can be slightly mitigated because once he becomes an inevitable threat, he still has a countdown in place that forces you to ration monitor usage before he actually gets you.
Even the extra animatronics Dee Dee summons have methods of placating them that don't require any more or less effort with the cameras.
Toy Freddy is not forgiving like them. You pray Mr. Hugs just stops at the same door all night, because if you look there you let Baby and her merchandise squad in. You can't death coin him because even if showtime is at 6 AM, Funtime Foxy's check takes priority over the night ending. And if Mr. Hugs takes a separate door, it's over. No matter what doors are up, what lures or heating you have up, or how many times you put up or keep down the monitor.
If he gets jumpscared, YOU get jumpscared.
I never expected to hear anybody saying Toy Freddy's name so many times! Thought that everyone will just keep him in the corner forever. I am that 0.5% of the people who genuinely likes Toy Freddy (and not as a joke). But i was always ok with him being overlooked, because i never was like annoyed when i see "joke-of-a-gamer-Toy Freddy" moment. People do what they do and i have my headcanon Toy Freddy with the bigger role so everybody is happy. To be honest, it is very comfortable to have the "that other guy" type like Toy Freddy as favourite because you can do absolutely anything with him and people will don't say anything about it (i have a weird hangout with background characters, don't take it seriously)

I like to think that Toy Freddy changed out his voice box and became a popular Vtuber
I was one of the first people to cosplay Toy Freddy before FNAF 2 even released. I was a little awkward teenager and saw all the other characters getting love except him. I love what he has become. People used to characterize him as a vain pompous jerk, and I love the karma of Toy Bonnie getting that characterization instead.
Few things I learned from this video:
1. I now love Toy Freddy. His characterization in Special Delivery is amazing, his voice is great, and those voice lines now that I’m hearing them fully are really good.
2. Special Delivery can make almost any character more likable and better characterized. From Mangle to Toy Freddy they keep nailing them one after another. Kinda makes me sad the game is kinda dead now…
I remember during the early days of FNaF, everyone made "Toy Freddy is fat" jokes. INCLUDING ME WHEN I WAS A KID. That's all he kinda was back then. I'm so glad they gave him a proper personality in FNaF AR, I really like it on him ♡
Before I watch the entire video, here are my thoughts on Toy Freddy; I'd like to say I absolutely love Toy Freddy as a character. I remember always getting upset at people for making fun of him back in the day, and long before he was given the 'angry gamer' characterization. I was big into making AUs (alternate universes) and I always strived to make Toy Freddy this sweetheart of a character, sort of like someone you can always talk to- he'd be willing to listen. Sounds stupid considering I'm talking about animatronics here but you gotta remember this was in 2014-2015, the FNaF fandom was ripe with giving these guys distinct personalities, and I was simply one in the crowd doing so.
Funnily enough, from what I saw from other people's interpretation is that toy freddy was "the new and serious boss in town" and then in UCN he basically became the complete opposite
OH MY GODDDD YES this is my favourite interpretation of him. He’s just a jolly and whimsical guy. Gentle and friendly and would dress like a grandad if he wore clothes. He’s my absolute favourite, I love him so much
So that's Mangle, Chica, BB and now Freddy. I think you mentioned Bonnie's change up in Chica's video, and of course there's still your beloved Puppet. Interesting how along with the classics and other newbies without much prefix (Springtrap, Ballora, Baby), the Toys got as much attention with AR skins. While Silver Eyes makes sense to have the refurbished classics in 1995, might be interesting if Into the Pit described the bots like the Unwithereds for '85. The few times animatronics appear in Frights, I don't think they go much beyond the classics. And while only open for a few weeks, this was the Fazbear crew - around a 6 year gap to our knowledge compared to the 4 years between 83-87. I do recall seeing a future cover with Toy Freddy though...

You bringing up Dayshift at Freddy's like that really made me realize how much i want to see a DSAF analysis video from you.
I have always defended Toy Freddy, not just from being my favorite character, but from the fact he’s more than an angry gamer bear. He’s actually like a grizzly bear: Intelligent, but naive. Friendly, but can get aggressive. And stepping away from the bear stance, Toy Freddy is shown to be remorseful in some way. Like you pointed out in the video, he thinks he’s playing silly games until something goes wrong and someone is dead. (FNAF AR) And as for the gaming part, because he’s a gamer he became aware of copyright and patents. It would make sense, right? He sat in the back playing video games and obviously became familiar with the copyright logos in the bottom left or right. (An example would be Five Nights With Mr. Hugs, having copyright to Scott for FNAF). You pointed out in not one, but two lines of his he says copyright or patent. Also, if this is the case he would probably be aware of the games within the universe. (FNAF 1-FFPS and maybe even FNAF VR as, it was made to poke fun at all the “lies” a rogue indie-game developer made.) It feels kinda strange for him to know those laws exist, without any knowledge of the games. He is also aware of his appearance, much like Toy Chica and many others, and proceeds to use it in his lines. “I have these fat plastic fingers and can’t press the buttons.” He’s always made me laugh and I even resemble his appearance in some ways. Either way, hope this informs people on the true light of my favorite bear and you know he’s more than meets the eye. Thank you and have a great day/night!

i feel like SOO many of the fnaf animatronics play off this "let's play~" sinister persona that him being actually playful not only makes sense but also is a breath of fresh air for me. though mangle will always be my #1, and i def don't put him at the top of my list, i feel like this has made me like him more.
Toy Freddy does strike me as the type of animatronic who’d kill you brutally as an accident and immediately start apologizing to your mangled, bleeding corpse, as opposed to the others who’ll probably just feast on your remains.
In my headcannon(obviously not real) Toy Freddy retired after the FNAF 2 pizzaria closed down and he moved on to become the next best Twitch streamer and Discord mod
I really love Toy Freddy's personality of being clumsy and a bit dumb (I say that with utmost respect) and it really fits with and contrasts Glamrock Freddy's personality.
I wonder if Angry Gamer Toy Freddy was more the result of a game design decision. Scott or someone else involved (he had a full-on team by UCN, right?) were looking for different gameplay modes, and hit upon "we heard you like FNaF so we put FNaF in your FNaF" and needed a character to attach this mechanic to. Toy Freddy didn't already have a unique mechanic to replicate and no personality traits to suggest anything, so he got picked for it. And then they gave him a personality to match his new gameplay role.
Maybe this process was nudged on by a general awareness that TF was only ever thought of as a joke if he was thought of at all, but I still suspect it was a game design decision first.

In the way that I enjoy Roxy in RUIN because she comes off as how she's intended to be I adore AR's Toy Freddy, he has that feel to him that this is how the animatronics are intended to function and behave I could picture him saying "are you sure you want that to be your hiding spot?" to children who aren't particularly good at hiding but are eager enough to want to participate or something, it's oddly precious and it just makes me want to see more FNAF content that strays away from the usual spooky shenanigans, the fabled Pizza Sim's infinite tycoon would be a great spot to show that off for instance :)

The way I see it, Toy Freddy from AR is him in general at work, happy. Toy Freddy in UCN is him in an episode where he gets fired for the episode and becomes an angry gamer until the place suffers without him and he needs to be taken back. Sort of like how a few SpongeBob episodes played out in slightly different ways. Squid on Strike, the first SpongeBob Movie, that episode where Patrick takes SpongeBob's place and he goes nuts. Probably more.

I use to follow somebody named Comyet/Myebi in deviantart that had her own AU of fnaf, based purely in fnaf 1, 2, and 3(Even after the reveal about some Canon lore and more fnaf games) she was very creative with her lore, and something that I really liked was her Toy Freddy Portraying, in that AU Toy Freddy Aka Fedric was a cold, no very friendly bossy animatronic, he was sassy even, he hated children and his way of looking his workmates Toy Bonnie/BonBon(Yes, Comyet made him a girl), Toy Chica/Chii, Toy Tricky(Comyets own Toy Golden Freddy oc) and even his girlfriend Mangle/Vixen was as some kind of harem, Myebi mentions that Fedric use to be more like that Teddy Bear that likes to sing and get his ego power up by children, but maybe like the Daycare Attendant he became more descencanted(is that the word?) with his live and work, specially after Mangle's now role as a repairing and destroying game for kids.
Ironicaly(AGAIN, THAT IS HOW YOU SAY IT?) he was pretty much a cheater lol.
Oh, I like that characterization! 8D I love to see AUs where folks go at characters at a different angle. Because I could see Toy Freddy- especially UCN Toy Freddy- having a side like that!
@@notrealnamenotatall2476 Honestly Comyet AU was really good and unique, She Made something that nobody did before: Making The souls of The children into pieces that ended inside of Every animatronic, example: Freddy, Whitered Freddy(Whos nickname here was Blue) and Toy Freddy/Fedric share one soul.
But this creative Liberty doesnt not end here, She Make The robots be ALIVE. She didnt Make Them revengeful BEINGS, they we're silly robots that bcause of The Magic of The souls gifted by The Puppet(Whose Name was Nette and was an Antagonist and Pretty much The other animatronics Dictator) were Alive, but all of Them had a personality that matches The programmed personality of their AIs.
Besides Myebi's Portraying of Toy Freddy, I loved her version of:
1. Springtrap, Whos NICKNAME was Tex!, he was another robot that became alive for a child soul, he had nothing to do with The man beghind the slaugther.
2. Withered Bonnie, Whose nickname was Lavender, he was a shy, nervous and insecure Guy, unfortunly Myebi's left The fandom before give more info about Him besides Him having a crush on Crimson/W.Foxy before getting together With Ocre/Yellow(W. Chica).
3.The Puppet, Marionette...NETTE. This Guy was The man beghind the slaugther in personality Even tought they were different characters; Nette's personality matches Purple Guy Aka William Afton future personality, NETTE was a horrible person starting With the fact that he was The one who forced the other animatronics to kill Nightguards, and the one that lure Foxy into making the bite of the 87(The victim was a girl that Freddy was really fond of, his motive beghind doing this is that Freddy didnt try to make Foxy kill Guards too, gay people basically.)
4. Golden Freddy, Aka Torikku, Aka Tricky..Aka Goldie. Golden was probably The favorite of Myebi, at least The fact of Him being very explore in this AU tell us that. Golden can fall in The UwU Uke stereotype, but Golden was Also a traumatized being that had The power to destroy NETTE but was totally nerf by his programmed personality that Make Him submissive, obedient and shy, this Guy was capable of pulling out of The floor a whole piano With one finger, float, teleport and since he did not have a voice box...FUCKING TELEPATY(IDK HOW TO WRITE IT IN ENGLISH). He was a good killer, and he Also was another Character 'Mask', an attraction in Fazbear Frights, and his dark side.
5. Last but not less important: Toy Tricky, Myebi's Toy Golden Freddy oc, this guy had two versions, one from the earlies of Myebi's AU and other from her AU Remake, He First was showed to being a more sadist and perverse version of Golden, He was able to float and another Magic things, and as Golden, This Toy Golden Freddy was a Magician. Torikku had a reference page now remove from Myebi's deviantatt we're we can see how much of a Monster and a *Child* he was, he was a Pretty cute gremlin(Balloon Boy was Nette's Voice box so somebody had to cover the problem child that nobody likes role), he liked sweets, he was a hats thieft, a Circus magician..and the most CHILD of all the animatronics by being Noisy, Extrovert and Selfish, he was Also the same heigh as Balloon Boy and was potrayed as Toy Freddy's little brother by Fazbear Entertainment. But, Tricky was Also a bloodluster, like, he literally likes blood, and was a cruel bully to Golden, somebody that could kill Him in anytime, he only cared about himself and was Also pervert in The gay way, since he's Character was meant to resemble The Shota stereotype in a deep way.
Then The remake happend, and now he had an ACTUAL reason of WHY Tricky was so Selfish, and as opossite as one might thing, considerating that his BOSS and Big brother didnt really cared about Him It was a Smart thing. Now, Tricky did not have power, he cannot run or Make suddent movements bcause his fursuit was literally TOO HEAVY + His clothes!, Tricky now needed to only care about himself bcause in a place like Myebi's AU you literally could die for being a good person, that or being tortured by Nette. Tricky stopped being a blood lover, now, he became a really person...a helpless Child forced to became adult by his circunstances, he still a Bad person, but, he doesnt really had another choice. all The other characters think he is anoying and they don't like Him very much, Freddy that is a really Sweet Guy here finds Him..weird.
Tricky is really fond of Toy Freddy(Has a weird crush on Him), Freddy(Bcause he looks like Toy Freddy, a perfect replacemnt in case he cannot charms Toy Freddy), and Golden. His relationship With Golden is one of fake power, Golden is The powerful one physicaly, but he is The weakest in personality, Tricky is cruel and Sweet at The same time With Him, he sees Him as his REAL brother, somebody that he can control..at least, he can pretend he is The BOSS and not The victim kid this time.
I Also forgot to mention two things: besides Tricky, theres no other character in The AU that acts like The age of their souls, all The other ones had some childish parts, but they act as adults. The other thing is that nobody besides Nette remembers their past life.

I like the characterisation of him not knowing what he’s actually doing and thinking he’s just innocently playing, his original jumpscare actually fits that pretty well I think. It’s not scary. I’ve never thought it was scary. Toy chica and toy bonnie’s jumpscares are creepy and they full on jump at you, but toy freddy’s looks more like a “Boo! Got you!” kinda thing, like he’s playing hide and seek with a child. He’s so cute
DSAF was where I went from "Oh yeah, Toy Freddy, he's neat" to "OMG Toy Freddy, my precious little dumbass baby boy, I love you so much, let me hug you"

For some reason as a kid Toy Freddy scared me the most out of every animatronic. I still have no explanation for this, and I still think he's weird and off-putting.
Surprisingly Toy Freddy is actually my favorite Toy Animatronic.

He went from being the second most fattest animatronic in the series to being a heavy giga chad Gamer in Five nights with Mr. Hugs. This Teddy Bear is an absolute meme legend.
If one of the next games will be a circus one like people think I hope it’s some mix of the pizzaplex and Disney world and if you have it steroids and toy Freddy has his own area as I can see the circus being 1 land but toy Freddy would have an area that’s basically Disney quest and it is in the disrepair it was in before it closed but it’s due to toy Freddys gamer rage. Also I could see it being them making all old animatronics there and it might be that WB triple A game talked about all that time ago and it’s a celebration title mainline sequel hybrid

For me Toy Freddy is a guy with diabetes who is an game enthusiast (or gamer) who is good with children and games since he still have his inner child but knows where to set bounderies. He is othervise quite ordinarly and might have grone up bullied or ostersised in school but don't let the lows of life keep him down, he might also have some undiagnosed mental illnes but he have learned to live with it and can control it. It's not really known if his diabetes is inherited or developed but he grew chuby from prefering to play games and hang out with his internet friends (might be Toy Bonnie and Toy Chica) and comfort eating
I can describe how happy i am to seeing this video, Toy Freddy was always my been favorite animatronic and i was so mad when UCN came out because he was reduced as a joke and is not very talked in the community so seeing this videos was a surprise
