    this definitely saves my day!!! I found it's the same issue and the relay click got stuck on the bottom. I used a screwdriver to nudge it a bit and now it works again!! The next thing is that I need to lubricate it a bit in order to avoid it get stuck again

    I just wanted to reach out and say thank you for your videos. Extremely helpful. I know you made this video back in 2017, but here we are in 2022, and I just had this problem occur. While I figured it was a relay that had gone bad, I did not know how to tell for sure. Your video helped fix that. Also below you were nice enough to tell another person what part number to purchase in order to replace a bad relay switch. That's another one that is very hard to find. You can't see any info on the relay while it's still installed, and I have been trying to figure out what part number to look for to replace it. I will be following your videos from now on. Again, thank you so much for doing these! Signed a fellow Texan :)

    I’m having trouble with fuse keeps blowing up.
    Incoming water actuator got cut twice by rat and splicing them fixed the issue.
    Then today got return water actuator cut so I splice it and fixed the issue for pool mode. Tapping mode button to go spa doesn’t switch. When I try switch spa mode on the app, it burns the fuse.
    I’m getting actuators replaced but im worry that won’t solve the issue with spa mode…

    Hey I have a question and maybe you can help and I'll appreciate your help as well. I just got a new pool and have a Jandy system. I have two relays that are not being used for Aux3 and Aux4. I have low voltage lights around my house and will like to hook up directly to Aux3 for the front of the house low voltage lighting and aux4 for the rear. Question is this possible. What is the max output voltage on each relay and if I hook up to the low voltage cables directly to the relay do I use the line one load out screws next to each other. Any help you can provide would be very appreciated and helpful.

    • @truelightpoolsllc4441
      @truelightpoolsllc4441  Рік тому

      The relay on the Jandy system is activated when you push the button for that relay. Hook power to legs 1 and 3 if 240 voltage and then the item being powered to legs 2 and 4. If 120V then power to leg 1 and the item powered to leg 2. When the relay is activated, it should allow voltage to connect between leg 1 and 2 for 120V or a lower voltage for low voltage operation.

    Thank you so much for this video. I have an AquaLink RS by JANDY and I have the same issue with the service mode not turning off the pumps. My pool guy says I need a brand new controller which with installation would cost about $1500 to fix. I noticed you responded to an earlier comment with the part number needed. Does that part works for my AquaLink RS or do I have to look for a model number on my AquaLink? Im a first time pool owner so I’m becoming familiar with the pool equipment as I go. thank you for your help

    • @truelightpoolsllc4441

      You need a Jandy low voltage (24V) relay like the others in your panel already. But a Hayward one should work also.

      @@andreadelgado4212 No, but turn off breakers, remove wires, remove relay, note which slot connection wire is plugged into on board, unplug it, then do reverse to install new one.

    Great video and exactly the issue with my Aqualink. I replaced the relay and all was good again for about 60 days. Then same issue of the tab sticking. Figured I got a bad relay so ordered another new one and about 60 days later it started to stick to. My initial one was issue free for at least six years. Thoughts on why I seem to be going through these pump relays now? Very much appreciated!

    • @truelightpoolsllc4441
      @truelightpoolsllc4441  Рік тому +1

      Glad it helped. The relay may be getting too much voltage to it from the board, check for 24V AC from board to relay, the wires on top. Also could talk to Jandy tech support about the problem also. If button is sticking on the board, that is just a button/board issue, not related to relay operation.

    Thank you for the great video! I have the same equipment, but my pool light will occasionally not turn on unless I "hit" the panel and then it works. I suspect its the relay. Does the relay for the pool light also use the Zodiac R0658100 3-HP, or is it a different one? Thank you!

    Thanks for this video, I have an Aqualink and I’m having intermittent issues with my filter pump not starting and I’m suspecting the relay has worn contacts. Can’t I just replace it with a 2 pole contactor? Or is the coil not 24 volts?

    Hello! My pump does not turn on whatsoever none of the buttons turn anything on either. I’ve reset my breaker boxes, reset the gfci and hit the small reset button on the Jandy Aqualink panel. Nothing has worked, are there any other things I should be checking? Thank you so much!!

    My Pump (220V) as no power - whether in Auto or Service Mode. The PIN pushes out and in for Service Mode correctly (still no power at the pump via multimeter) but in Auto Mode, the Pin Pushes out and immediately pull back (Light stays on). Its an old RS4 Aqualink System so not sure if I should be looking at the Relay or the Transformer? I already changed out the Capacitor and nothing improved.

    • @truelightpoolsllc4441
      @truelightpoolsllc4441  3 роки тому +1

      Check to see if you have 120V power at each leg 1 and 3 on the relay pictured. If you have power there it's probably the relay stopping the transfer of power and not working to send power to pump in service mode. Another way to see if pump is working or not is to turn off all breakers to pool equipment, move pump wires from legs 2 and 4 and attach them to legs 1 and 3 with the incoming power wires. When you turn the breakers back on the pump should have 240V sent straight to it like the pump was wired directly to the breaker. That is how you could troubleshoot the motor working or not working. Only do this if it makes sense and you know how to work with electricity safely.

    Hello. Have a similar issue with Jandy Control box same as in your video. I have iAqualink and noticed my connection on my phone changed from green to red so was unable to operate my spa. When checked the Control Box, it was on Auto and none of my 3 pumps would turn on until I put it in Service Mode. It appears my relays are working as can see the plastic black pin in the bottom moving when actuate; however, my wired remote to the box from at the spa wont work (even when in Auto) as well as no LED lights (green, yellow, red) are working the on iAqualink remote antenna. My program that I made to have all 3 pumps to go on at certain times of the day appears to be working though. At this point, have no way of controlling spa unless at Control Box on Service.
    Confused why both remotes (wired one at spa and iphone) dont work and only works in Service mode and unable to connect to wifi iphone iAqualink? thank you

    • @truelightpoolsllc4441
      @truelightpoolsllc4441  2 роки тому

      I would un-wire the wired remote coming from the spa. The spa side remotes interfere with the main control box when they start going out and can cause weird results. After disconnecting, turn all breakers off to pool equipment, wait 10 minutes, then turn them on to reboot system. See if your app on phone is working after that to turn stuff off and on, if not call Jandy/Zodiac tech support to troubleshoot IAqualink connection to your control board. Consider a SUPER THANKS!!!

    Hi Rich, I have a 2 speed pump but the low speed is not kicking in. Could that be a faulty relay? I hear the relay click but slow speed isn't working. Pump works fine on high speed.

    • @truelightpoolsllc4441
      @truelightpoolsllc4441  2 роки тому

      You could replace the relay first just to check. But probably the Low Speed has stopped working on the motor if you still hear the relay click to try to activate the Low Speed.

    So, my HEATER button won't turn on. It's the only button that does not light up when i press it. All of the other functions, to include the water heater light up and operate normally. Any suggestions on what it might be? Thank you!!

    • @truelightpoolsllc4441
      @truelightpoolsllc4441  2 роки тому

      Check the communication wire between the control box and heater to make sure it's not broken. Next, run the heater manually to see if the heater itself works fine. If those check out, the heater button on the board may have stopped functioning.

    I have an Aqualink Power Center where the board has no lights at all. I have had the board tested and it works. I have replaced the 24V Class 2 Transformer and no go. I have tested the power coming from the breaker it is good. The way my box is wired the black wire power to the transformer goes through one of the relays. Could the relay be the problem?

    • @truelightpoolsllc4441
      @truelightpoolsllc4441  4 роки тому

      Thanks for the question. I don't know why they would wire the black wire to the transformer through a relay. I would think this is a problem or at least an abnormal way to wire it. So either the transformer is not getting proper voltage to it and can't send the proper voltage to the board and thus the board won't work. Or the board itself is bad.

    Replaced one light with led, standard bulb in other one.

    • @truelightpoolsllc4441
      @truelightpoolsllc4441  3 роки тому

      Not sure, you could replace relay to see if there is a problem with the relay itself, but my guess is that the board is sending that signal to turn relay on and off.

    Jandy RS turns pool off&on randomly. Ran a boost and it shut off a couple of hours early. Couldn't get it to come back on then several hours later it started running. Will run for 30 seconds to a minute and shut off again for about the same time period then start back up. Any suggestions?

    • @truelightpoolsllc4441
      @truelightpoolsllc4441  5 років тому

      Sure. It sounds like a bad board but could be an issue with the pump motor. The motor may be overheating after running for a short time and cutting off. To check let it run for like 30 minutes doing its thing, then touch the metal part of the motor quickly to see if it is very hot. If the motor is overheating it has a thermal switch inside to cut power for a few minutes then it will allow power to flow through the motor again , but the motor overheats again and cuts power, etc. If the metal part of the motor is very hot, that could be the issue. If the motor is not extremely hot, you probably have a bad board that is doing things randomly because it's a messed up circuit board.

    Hi I have a client and the problem there the pump stop working and doesn’t start again and in order to start we have to turn the main breaker of and start again what can be ?

    • @truelightpoolsllc4441
      @truelightpoolsllc4441  4 роки тому

      It sounds to me like by turning off the breaker you are actually resetting the board and then it works to turn on the pump through the relay. So it sounds to me like your are having a board issue or maybe just a board issue with that button and relay. The relay takes commands from the board to send electricity or cut the electricity. So check the other relays to make sure they are working correctly turning things on and off. You could always swap out that relay for another to see if it's doing the same thing, if it is, then it's something with the board or something with the pump. Wire pump directly to breaker and see if it runs fine with no issues. If it does then you have eliminated the relay and the pump being the problem, so it comes back to board having issues. Hope this helps and thanks for the question.

    Can a relay go bad without signs of stuck pin? Mine is reading 98v all other relays are reading normal. I'm not sure if relay is bad or my pool pump is out. Thanks

    • @truelightpoolsllc4441
      @truelightpoolsllc4441  6 років тому

      Yes it can. If you have proper voltage coming to the relay, but not the full voltage going through the relay, I would replace the relay.

  • @adam1035
    @adam1035 6 років тому

    I replaced the relay but it did not fix the problem. My problem: control panel unresponsive but lights up. I switched off breakers then reset. When in auto, the filter goes on then low speed kicks in. (No programs input!) service mode and time out: no effect.

    • @truelightpoolsllc4441
      @truelightpoolsllc4441  6 років тому

      When the board has power and the buttons are unresponsive, especially multiple ones on a board, it's should be a bad board. Have a pool tech come check it for you.

    Intelli touch automation. IN SERVICE MODE IF YOU PRESS SOLAR IT TURNS ON AMD ACTUATOR TURNS.
    IN AUTO MODE I PRESS ON SCREEN LOGIC SOLAR IT DOES NOT TURN ON. IS THAT THE SOLAR RELAY??

    • @truelightpoolsllc4441
      @truelightpoolsllc4441  4 роки тому

      I don't think it would be the relay since you can activate it in service mode. It may be some problem with the screenlogic interface to the IntelliTouch. But I would recommend you call Pentair tech support to have them help you troubleshoot that further. Thanks.

    I also have a jandy outdoor panel and an inside panel. One day the pool was running and I shut off the breaker belonging to the pool section on accident, and when I switched it back on, there is absolutely no power to either panel. The gfci outlet still has a little light on it but nothing else. I have pushed test and reset on the outlet but nothing. Any ideas?

    • @truelightpoolsllc4441
      @truelightpoolsllc4441  6 років тому +1

      I would shut off all breakers to the pool equipment and reset them. If still no power to the main control box, sometimes another breaker on a different panel box controls parts of the pool equipment. Sometimes you see weird wiring setups. If you check other breaker boxes and still nothing, I would then recommend contacting an electrician to figure out what is going on.
