      Do you have any flight in bad weather( avoiding storms, landing in rainy snowy conditions) since it's winter, beautiful weather doesn't represent the entire reality of flying!!

      @TheReverses78 Most of the time, the weather is good. Here on the channel are also videos of autoland approaches in fog or a stormy approach or flights with weather avoidance and more. This represents my real life as a pilot.

    Looked really hot in Greece, you could see when you did the runup on departure the AC had some extra cooling and a bunch of condensation/fog appeared behind the captain's chair. And another runway that looks like it needs some smoothing, really working that suspension and seat cushions! Had a classmate that worked at Boeing for a while and was able to get a factory 'tour'. Really great experience and so fun to see the insides of a 747-8F. Great video, thanks!

      Thank you very much for watching and for sharing your interesting feedback! Yes, the condensation is visible. Sometimes you also see it in the passenger cabin.
      The full takeoff runway was redone a short while ago. Some of the vibrations may have been caused by the centerline lights of the runway which are not 100 % even with the asphalt/concrete surface. The only airplane factory production line which I visited was Piper at Vero Beach airport in Florida. This was a great experience and I hope to have a chance to see more, like Airbus or Boeing, in the future. Have a nice day!

    Great video! I remember when I worked in load planning, we had an A320 flight with only 4 passengers onboard and the only way to get it into trim for T/O for the load sheet was to sit 1 passenger at each of the over wing emergency exit seats. Strange how something so small makes such a difference.

      Thanks a lot for your financial support as a channel member! Loading is always very interesting. With a full plane, small changes between the sections do not really matter. But with a nearly empty plane, it may matter a lot and result in an out of trim condition. We have to consider those things for example if our cabin crew sells upgrades to business class. Before they can do it, they have to ask us and we have to calculate an updated loadsheet to see if the center of gravity would be still in limits. If not, the passengers cannot be moved from the aft or mid section to the front and stay in their class.

    32:42 Departing, the FO said: "so the markings are confirming that we got full runway length". What was he refering to, F10 taxi lines ending up at the same point as F9 does (one being 90° the other 30° entry)? Or are there other "full length" markings as the TORA markings elsewhere?

      Normally the entry to a runway will have both directions so 10 and 28 marked at the hold short lines, one each side of the entryway centreline. For full length, it will only have one direction.

    I've heard you use the expression 'overlapping engine start' a few times now and I assume it means that you start engine 1 a little earlier than normal, before engine 2 is fully stable, but could you explain please?

      Standard is to wait until engine 2 is stabilized and it says AVAIL on the engine 2 display before starting engine 1. The overlapping engine start is allowed as soon as the start valve of engine 2 is closed. It reduces the total required time to start both engines.

    I can confirm that thermals are quite annoying in Florida, even in December when it's "only" 25C outside, still getting bumped around at 300' AGL

      Thanks for watching and for your question! The smoke is coming out of the air conditioning outlet due to condensation. You can see this in several of my videos. Sometimes it is also visible in the passenger cabin. Have a nice day!

Ist es eigentlich so, das jeder call zwischen den Piloten auch wörtlich mit check des anderen Piloten gecheckt wird oder ist es Companyabhängig oder kann man es so einfach nicht sagen, was ich auch verstehen würde?       Vielen Dank fürs Anschauen und die Frage! Die Basis für die Operating-Procedures werden von Airbus vorgegeben. Allerdings weichen die einzelnen Fluggesellschaften hier und da ein wenig ab. Dazu gehört auch, wann und wo wer "Checked" sagt. Es gibt in unseren SOPs einige Dinge die immer mit checked bestätigt werden sollen. Bei anderen ist das nicht erforderlich. Zum Beispiel, wenn wir "1000" sagen vor dem Erreichen der vorgegebenen Höhe. Da ist kein "Checked" erforderlich. Manchmal sagen wir es aber trotzdem. Andere "Checked"-Calls sind extrem wichtig. Zum Beispiel der "100 knots"-Call. Das ist ein incapacitation-Call. Der muss unbedingt mit "checked" bestätigt werden. Hier wird nicht nur überprüft, ob der Kollege oder die Kollegin auch 100 Knoten auf dem Geschwindigkeitsanzeiger sieht. Es ist auch die Überprüfung, ob der Kollege noch munter ist. Falls das nicht der Fall wäre, würde der Start dann abgebrochen.

      Yes, it was a little bumpy. Some bumps are caused by the centerline lights of the runway. The lenses are not completely even with the runway.

    overwight-landing , ohne abzulassen funktioniert "immer" ? zumal luftfahrzeuge so zugelassen werden ... ich verstehe nur nicht die windmassen sowie wassermasse um die landerichtung zu bestimmen ; ist es ähnlich wie moped fahren auf langen brücken mit seitenwind und beschleunigen ?
    oder sind piloten-sorgen eher um die fahrwerke wenn "durchstarten nach landebahn kontakt" UND erneut landen ...die fahrwerke sehen sehr stabil aus

      Die Fahrwerke können zwar tendenziell eine "Overweight" landing ab, jedoch ist danach eine Inspektion auf mögliche Schäden notwendig, wie zB Teile der Zellenstruktur. Dazu kommt die erhöhte Landedistanz und die Gefahr auf Beschädigung bei einer harten Landung. Somit wird soweit möglich mit der Landung gewartet, bis das Maximum Landing Weight (MLW) erreicht wurde, entweder durch das Ablassen (soweit damit ausgestattet) oder Warteschleifen.
      Bei der Landedistanz ist natürlich auch der Wind entscheidend, da dieser die Bodengeschwindigkeit beeinflusst, und damit die Bremsdistanz. Hinzu kommt die Landerichtung, bei nur einem Triebwerk ist es tendenziell Vorteilhaft nicht in hohes Terrain zu fliegen (deswegen wollen sie über Wasser bleiben bis das Problem abgearbeitet wird), ebenso die Gegebenheiten hinter der Piste, sollte Durchgestartet werden. Und es wird die längere Bahn präferiert, aus den genannten Gründen.

      ich hab dat so abgeleitet weil der flugkapitän spritsparend fliegen will ...da liegt es nahe das er auch sorge für die hydraulik "stempel" ( so nannten wir im streb die zylinder mit 450bar fülldruck) hat

      Flugzeuge, die auf keinen Fall mit dem maximalen Startgewicht wieder landen können, werden mit einem Ventil ausgestattet, mit dem man den Sprit ablassen kann. Ansonsten gibt es die "Overweight Landung". Bei der Overweight Landung muss man besonders vorsichtig sein, denn die maximal zugelassene vertikale Beschleunigung beim Aufsetzten (G-Load) ist wesentlich geringer als bei einer normalen Landung. Falls diese bei der Overweight-Landung überschritten wird, muss das Flugzeug einer besonderen technischen Inspektion unterzogen werden. Ein guter Anhaltswert ist, dass bei einer Overweight-Landung die Vertikalgeschwindigkeit beim Aufsetzen nicht über 360 Fuß pro Minute sein sollte. 300 Fuß pro Minute fühlen sich schon extrem hart an, beschädigen das Flugzeug aber nicht. Das Fahrwerk hält extrem viel aus. Bis da etwas beschädigt wird, muss schon viel passieren.

      He did mention, 17:48 "I'll ask again our operations (control centre)" and 18:45 "So they'll work on it, spoken to Ops," regarding take off slot.

      Yes, I called our operations control center. They monitor our operations and file and modify the ATC flight plans. They know the detailed causes for the ATC slots. Sometimes it helps to change the cruise flight level or the routing a little bit to avoid or improve a slot.
