Great community back when I was growing up... born in the 50's and a '74 grad. So many great memories, we were taught at home "if you get in trouble in school, you'll have worse waiting for you at home." My brothers did get swats during their jr and sr high school years and my parents were all for it. Robert Frost poem "nothing gold can stay" always stuck with me since 11th grade (Mr. Toneff's English class)... looking back now it's pretty fitting in what Garfield Hts. looks/deals with today.
2:38 Lynette Kopp & Chris Dugas. .... 2 of my favorites in the class of 1981..... hope they are doing well ! George Farr 2:41. went to elementary school with him.. wonder of his brother Homer is alive
That’s because they didn’t want us going to their schools. There weren’t that many of us that lived in the deep part of Garfield and the ones that lived up the hill off E.131st were forced to attend Cleveland Public Schools. Our parents used to go to the townhall meetings demanding us to attend, since we lived in the city of Garfield, because most of us were bused to the west side just to go to school.

The memories, I was on wrestling team in 80s and went to State. And used to sled behind that school. Awesome memories.
