The text REALLY helps. I downloaded the audio by itself, and I don't get nearly as much out of it as when I see the text on the screen. Thank you. The teacher has the most profoundly penetrating of minds.
At 23:05 Peikoff says he had already covered the question of how do you reconcile free will with the laws of causality and logic elsewhere. Can someone help me and point out where he went over this?
This overview missed the essence of what Spinoza really endeavored to communicate. Spinoza wanted man to come to the knowledge of himself and of God or Nature through reason and intuition. Intuition being the highest level of knowledge. Without intuition it is impossible to understand Spinoza’s philosophy. Reason alone will not help. Spinoza understood that man is governed by the laws of nature; example, the law of necessity and the law of self-preservation explains that man does not have freewill. That man is influenced by what stimulates his desires and his emotional states are easily triggered. Freedom is to understand our emotions and the nature of God; happiness and blessedness follows. Some of what Spinoza asserted is being proposed by the multi verse view of physics.
How can there be a multi verse in a universe of universes ? Faux pas af.

Nobody understands what you are saying.
@@dcissignedon in reality, you do not understand.
@@lewisalmeida3495 Peikoff discusses 'scientia intuitive' briefly at 52:30. Perhaps you didn't listen that long? If not, why not give it a try?
@@dcissignedon Simply put, if you didn't understand the comment you haven't understood Spinoza.
@@rappakalja5295 Forget about me and Lewis Almeida - do you really think Peikoff doesn't understand Spinoza?
Does not have a clue on Spinoza, sorry
