  • This was on April 27th, 2012, this spring. When we went to hunt for these it appeared that they have been around this area for a while already, as bugs were already all over them. So we are well into the season for morels! TELL ME about your tips for hunting morels!

Hey, I just recently moved to Spokane. Would you mind giving me an approximate location where you found these?

That is awesome. I'm originally from Spokane and have heard they grew in the area but never found them myself. I'll have to go exploring next spring when I visit. Thanks for the cool Vid.

These are by far my favorite mushrooms. They actually grow around my house as well and I get them every April! :D Cheers!

Have you found any boletus edulis yet?
Here in Italy they are the king of mushrooms along with the amanita caesarea.

It's so easy to recognize them, you cannot fail, search on a mushrooms book or even on the internet to understand the two things you have to know.

Hello. Were you finding these on the north side or south side of the river. How far from riverside state park? I’ve been looking outside of Spokane but River is too high.

Seems like certain areas of the country seem to have mite problems. I'm in Michigan and I've never seen any bugs ( mites ) on any of our Morels. Maybe an occasional slug. I've picked in Alabama and they were really buggy .

When hunting morels, please use a mesh bag to place the in so that their spores can land in the soil and produce more!

Absolutely! Mushroom picking hasn't been good this year, but we'll definitely be back out in the spring.

I'm new to shrooming and interested in going out to find some of these treasures. Are you still shrooming these days?

No...I'm careful with mushrooms...I only pick ones that I am absolutely certain about...and that one is not on my list. Yet.
