Looks wicked man! One big hurdle in film photography for me is that I was spoiled with access to a fully stocked darkroom with enlargers and all the bells and whistles in school, and switching to developing in a bag and scanning or sending off for development just won't be the same.

That sounds awesome. That sort of setup would be awesome. I'm starting the other way, and will try home at some point. Just been out to buy some 120 film and some more 35mm for a few different cameras and projects.

Hello sir, I want an advice, which camera would be better Praktica MTL3 with pentacon 50mm f/.18 OR Vivitar v3000s with Vivitar 50mm f/1.7

I doubt that you would notice the deference. The Pentacon 50 f/1.8 is a very fine lens, I think the one in the video must have had something wrong with it, perhaps a poor repair in the past. The Vivitar 50mm f/1.7 came from the Tokina factory and their lenses were very good too. Praktica's are very reliable solid cameras much underrated. With all these old cameras, there are no spares and less and less people with the skills or the knowledge to repair them. Of course you can have a CLA easy enough but if something actually breaks, the camera is a paper weight. This applies equally to a Leica R series as it does to a Praktica or indeed a Canon. So find yourself a nice well looked after one, enjoy it and do not worry about it, if it does break, there are plenty of Praktica's for you to buy a new one. I would stick to Pentacon, Carl Zeiss Jena, Pentax or any lens of whatever brand made at the Tokina factory. For example the Chinon 55 f/1.2 lens was such a brilliant performer, I remember the ship photos in Amateur Photographer magazine, they command rather silly money on Ebay. Rollie had a number of lenses made for them at the Tokina factory. There is at least one UA-camr who thinks the Carl Zeiss Jena 50mm f/1.8 Pancolar lens is the very finest lens in its category ever made. I cannot say he is right, I have not tested every lens, or as many as he has, but it certainly is a very good lens and at least on a par with the West German Zeiss Planar f1.7 used on the Contax RTS. I note that your post is 3 months old so you have probably bought something but I hope my comments help someone.

Hey. Great video! What light settings would you recommend to use if outdoors? My light meter is broken

Depends really. without a light meter i generally use the sunny 16 rule. If not i have a light meter app on my phone, or use a modern DSLR to get an idea of exposure.

Do you need a battery to use this camera? Can it function without?

There is a button battery located at the bottom. It only powers the light meter within the viewfinder, though. So the camera can take pictures fully without it, if you don't rely on the metering for exposure and aperture.
