      I've noticed this. I'm not sure how difficult it would be, but it would be interesting to see how far along in the block they are in different shots. That would give a better "feel" for the transition and breakdown of the pattern.

      I bowl mate and while yes it is a mental game that takes quite alot of skill it is not a sport. Saying that it is, is kind of disrespectful to the athletes who actually hurt and grind to be at a peak physical performance. Bowling takes alotttt of practice but it is not physically demanding enough. Here's a good test, if you can drink beer, and be successful at that game, then its not a sport

    Hey Kyle / Brad, I’ve been following Norm ever since his first TV appearance and his first title. We are the same age. I’ve been bowling all my life and wanted to go Pro, but lifestyle wouldn’t let me. Bowled Regionals though. Anyhow, about the old man thing with aches and pains. OMG YES! I can make about 9 games a day and during that I hope my back or knee or Sciatica holds out. By the time I drive home I can hardly get out of the car. Bring on the beer ! You all keep doing what you’re doing and enjoy it while you’re young. I love the sport (yes it’s a SPORT ) so much and wish I was young again. Take care and hope you all bowl fantastic to see you on the old flat screen on Fox kickin butt!

I ended up placing 193rd place out of well over 10k in Standard all-events Nationals 2017 at Southpoint Casino. So much fun. I threw 10 in a row to end the first game of team event and start the 2nd game. Kyle Troup was right behind my pair too with people, he might have eye-balled at least a couple of my strikes in that 10 in a row

    I've always thought of bowling as a sport. But now that I'm retired and can keep up with these vlogs and watch the quals on FloBowling, I really appreciate how grueling the Pro Tour is. Plus it's just so much time on the road away from any home life. With that too, I wish the USBC could really get its act together in governing the sport right... so we might finally see bowling as an Olympic sport.

      How many countries have bowling lanes?

    • @janderson8401
      @janderson8401 4 роки тому +1

      Won’t ever be an Olympic sport until they figure a way make sure everyone is using the same equipment. Has to be like the Teen Masters where each bowler has a plastic ball and a urethane one. Otherwise scores are too dependent on your equipment matching the lane condition.

    • @brianmccauley7711
      @brianmccauley7711 4 роки тому

      @@pamelacass9642, current estimates suggest there are more than 100 million bowlers in over 90 countries around the world today. The PBA itself has grown to over 4300 members from 14 countries. Compared to certain Olympic sports like bobsledding, which only has 16 permanent competition courses worldwide, I can assure you it's not an issue of how many bowling lanes there are.

    • @brianmccauley7711
      @brianmccauley7711 4 роки тому

      @@janderson8401, exactly right... and that's where a governing body like the USBC plays such a key role. However, no governing body alone can get this right either if proprietors don't cooperate as well. Trouble is there... if proprietors put out challenging conditions for league play, they lose business. It's a viscous circle right now.

    • @mikewhite735

      The criteria the Olympic Committee uses is how many tickets can they sell, and how much $$$ can the Sports Organizing body pay to the committee.

    Thanks Brad and Kyle for the video. Bowling was definitely less athletic in my prime (1970's). We only had to carry one 16 lb ball around with us. Now bowlers have to be in prime condition just to get their arsenal (weighing greatly in excess of 100 lb) to and from the tournament site and within the bowling center. To bad bowlers do not make the money that golfers do, so that they can have caddies do all the heavy lifting. 47 games in 3 days was a lot less of a workout when you only had to carry one 16 lb. ball from lane to lane.

OOOH! And I started using a cheap Wahl version of those massager guns you see all over. This one has a heat function. Using that to activate the quad before stretching has helped soooo much! Highly recommend something like that. Gotta take care of yourself.

    Awesome video as always!
    Anyone, or if the channel sees this and gets back to me, know how much the annual membership thing is? I looked around in the link that we can click on and didn't seem to find much info, or I easily could have overlooked it. I'm wanting to sign up if I can after we buy my sons b-day presents.

      Annual membership. Ball is $170, so another $330/12 months is about $28/month to join after ball cost. Not bad really.

      S C Soccer, football, and baseball is different in that you have both an offense and a defense. Bowling is like Track and field in that you achieve a time, height, distance and your opponents don’t cause you to achieve a worse time, height, distance.
