- Allama Iqbal once called by King Nadir Shah to evaluate a syllabus for Afghan Youth.
Allama Iqbal with Syed Suleman Nadvi and Grandson of Sir Syed Ahmed Khan went to Afghanistan for the said meet.
When King Nadir Shah put up the preposition in front of Allama Iqbal he replied.
King, how can you miss out your own Khushal Khan Khattak.
His teachings are good enough for making an efficient syllabus for Afghan youth.
Khushal Khan Khattak although worked with Mughals till Aurangzeb Alamgir when he arrested Khushal Khan and put him in prison for 4 years.
From here on Khushal Khan was a different man, he then worked with other Pashtun tribes for the safety of Pahtuns and their culture against the Mughal onslaught.
Khushal Khan wrote many books and his poetry was also translated in English by a Britisher.
A great revolutionist who is the National Poet of Afghanistan.
Machiavelli a Western philosopher defines State as ruthless and a power greedy organisation and rules set by Machiavelli for the ruler were very inhuman.
on the other hand Khushal Khan Khattak wrote a complete different concept for an ideal ruler.

The Philosopher
The Honor Scholar

Well done for bringing the story of Khushal Baba to the non Pashtun/Afghan Diaspora of this region...
His concept of Bathoor was taken up by Allama Muhammad Iqbal Lahori in the form of Shaheen.
Both wanted their nations to flourish...
One enticing & encouraging Pashtun/Afghan nationalism of NANG, PATH, GHAIRATH against the imperial Mughal advances deep into the Afghan/Pashtun territories.
Whilst the Allama wanted the same for the entire Muslim Ummah particularly the Indian Muslim.
Though we tend to romanticize the whole concept of collective wisdom along with nationalism put forth by both these gentlemen & in doing so we forget that, due to the prevailing geopolitics of the that time & that of today it had/has its own implications... i.e. being exploited by the imperial, socialist, & capitalist powers of the day by supporting leadership that has never been sincere to its people; be it in Afghanistan or Pakistan.
I would say that Afghanistan is still better than Pakistan in many ways. Despite being a poor nation, they have shown courage on many occasions by experimenting & are still trying all sorts of leaderships for a sustainable future for their people in line with the principles of Islam & Afghan Nationalism (e.g. The Current leadership of the Tailbs fits well into this concept; without going into its merits & de-merits.... that's a separate debate altogether), but this has come at the cost of precious human life.
Thus this Great Afghan Nation is proving that they are striving towards achieving the suggested goal which was set for them by these two Hakeems. But more so based on the true Islamic Principles which automatically covers the ideas of these two wise men.
Regrettably its Pakistan's that has lost the way over the years. Though its first generation paid a price & got that independence based on which they would have led a free, progressive & prosperous life; but unfortunately the second & third generations have let themselves down by looking for shortcuts in life & forgetting the tenets of Islam & true nationalism. Thus still towing the lines of colonialism & slavery. Unless these shackles are broken by the people of Pakistan, no mater how many philosophers give a remedy, nothing can be achieved.
Apologies for the lengthy comments with a disclaimer that its not meant to upset any single person or any nation; rather take it as a kind self reflection to be called a true Islamic nation....
Thanks for watching the video and commenting on it precisely and comprehensively.

just wanted to mention that the gentleman you quoted was not Major "Rahooty".
The correct name is Major Henry George "Raverty" he also came up with one of the first Pukhto to English dictionary & Pukhto grammar.
He was a pupil of Qazi Abdur Rahman Khan Muhammadzai and Mirza Muhammad Ismail.
Thanks for the pronunciation correction.
