I'm hoping to join a CNA program in the spring or fall of 2020. It's 1 semester program for 1200$ for the course, and an additional 300$ cost for books, etc. I'm nervous but excited. I'm not looking forward to being a CNA per say, however I wanted to start off at the bottom, aka the backbone, of the medical field and work my way up to have a stronger appreciation for what I and other's in the field do 💙
Same here 😭 but after my I get my CNA (you can be 16 and get free classes) when I turn 18 I’m gonna go to school for my phlebotomist license and start earning my LVN,LPN,BSN and a lot more nursing degrees and hopefully one day I can get a good job and show that people CAN do something if you put your mind to it 😅
Going into CNA after years of not going to school is a big step forward into medical fields, highly recommend it. Future Sonography Technology here. 🙋🏽♀It's not recommended but its super helpful.
I'm starting my cna course on August 23 for the second time around. I'm very excited but I'm ready to get it over with so that I can work somewhere else and make more money. Bless me well.

Hi Von! I know this is an older vid and I am sure you have even graduated Nursing School by now - Congrats!! I start my CNA school next month, in Virginia. I hope to work as a CNA for a year as well, and then apply for an LPN program. I am curious about the level of difficulty it is to get into a program. I plan to go to a Vocational School, and assume you have to take the TEAS test, like everyone else. Was the TEAS test pretty difficult? I am mostly scared of the Math portion because I am TERRIBLE at ALL Math subjects :( It is really discouraging and gives me anxiety already just thinking about it. Any advise? Also, any advise on how to make themost money per hour as a CNA?
First, congrats on starting CNA school. Great accomplishment. There is not that much math on the test however, every program requires different test and or requirements. I would strongly urge you to study for the test for a week or two and take the test. Apply to LPN school and I'm sure you will get into the right program for you. Continued success to you.
You have to renew your CNA license to continue to work as a CNA. It varies state to state but I know for NY, you have renew every 24 Months and work Atleast 8hrs for pay as a CNA.
