After buying this kit from guitar center, I can say that this video is one of the best and most simple tutorial on UA-cam. You’ve earned a new sub, god bless you man🤘
Cory: Your videos are getting better every time - so impressed with this one. The directions and steps are clear and you walk through every step. BTW, so glad to see your REAL face (along with your cute kitty)!
Kind of confused on their fretboard conditioners. There's the brown one, the lemon yellow one, and the white coconut one. Do they all serve a different purpose? Should they be used together?
Oh wow that looks as hard as hoovering my house, more detailed than that! I cleaned my hubby’s guitar once with a wet cloth and wondered why he gave me a funny look afterwords, now I know 😳. Amazing detailed video Cory! Well done
This was great tutorial thanks there is just one thing that I dealing with now and its back of my guitars neck and I dont know how to clean it wich product I have to buy for it
How can I maintain a bare-wood guitar neck? Some people like it like that but for me it just feels a bit too "woody", is there a way to give it a simple finish so it feels a bit smoother? I don't want a full lacquer finish, just something to make it feel smooth and protected. I feel like it's just going to get all dirty black after a few months (and I wash my hands before playing). How would you clean then such a dirty neck? Sand it? I'd rather have it protected with something. Great video btw! Clearly explained.
This is a good question! I have never done this personally but people that I talk to have done anything from a light sand to using gun wax or true oil to fill in some of the pores and grain. I'm thinking that may work or even clear sealer rated for the wood you're trying to work on. If i can get a bass with a neck like that I'll definitely experiment! Thank you sooooo much for watching!
Great question! In my experience, If it's a painted neck I've used a light amount of the System 65 cleaner to rub out the dirt and whatnots left from playing. If it's a small job on most guitars, I've used a little bit of lighter fluid on a damp (not wet, don't want to put too much moisture in the neck!) Cloth and that has worked nicely. Make sure to always test on a small non-visible area that way you can adjust or stop depending on your finish type :)
QUESTION: Maybe I'm a beginner, but after I used this kit to clean my guitar, it has a really strange sound. It sounds like if I would always be using the rear pick up with a lot of hall-reverb. Has this happened to anyone of you guys? How did you solve the problem?
That is a very good question! I don't believe sand blasted guitars have a finish over them so it may be risky to apply. I've never owned one so I may be wrong but it's better to err on the side of safety!
Best tutorial ever! So i got some of the cream of Carnauba on one of my gold humbuckers. Tried rubbing it off. Now it's hazy and gross. Any advice? I know gold hardware is more delicate too, so I'm open to suggestions. Thanks 🙏
Hi Rob! Thank you so much for watching 🙏 I have heard that isopropyl alcohol can help dissolve the wax on surfaces. I would try in a small area to make sure there is no damage before trying to remove it all. It should be relatively safe on the gold since it's also used to clean certain computer components. If this works please let us know! I've also heard vinegar may work but have never tried using it to clean any components
UPDATE. I experimented with Isopropyl alcohol (75%), Distilled White Vinegar, and Hydrogen Peroxide. Sadly, no avail. My gold neck humbucker is still hazy after getting Cream of Carnauba on it. I really put in some good elbow grease too, i got all sweaty lol so now, I'll have to wait about a month to see if the wax deteriorates a bit, and repeat my attempts. If there are no signs of improvement from there, I'll have to try getting the humbucker cover replaced. But idk if Epiphone Probuckers are all one piece or if i would be able to get away with replacing the cover. We'll see!
@@robgarcia6770 You more then likely lightly sanded the surface of the pickup using the cloth and the wax. No cleaning will remove that. You can just get any "chrome" polish from automotive store and with a very small dab just rub it on. It will disappear in seconds going back to a shiny shine. This usually happens if we push too hard while applying waxes or using a cloth that had contaminants on it.
Can you use the polish & cleaner 65 on a matt and or satin finish guitar body, if you know what i mean, it kind of has a texture feel so im not sure if i can use it or not, its a donner dmt-100 guitar all black????
Hi Jonathan! Thanks for watching! To my knowledge, the product has a silicone base to it which may damage some of the finishes commonly used on acoustic guitars. Depending on the finish on the fretboard, you may be able to use some of the fingerboard cleaner and fret polish but that would also come down to the finish and if the fretboard has been treated or not.
It was a used one I got for a really great price! I do this to all of my incoming family members for this exact reason! If I'm going to have gunk on the fretboard it's going to be from me! Haha

same question, did u get any answers? since the lemon oil isnt included in the kit im assuming its fine to just use the brown one on its own
I love your kitten 😍 Nice video Cory - keep doing the good work 👏
You need more subs. Just remember not to give up! Thanks for the vid. It helped
Thank you for the kind words Dante :) I truly appreciate you watching!

Merry late Christmas to you and yours, Jacob! Thank you so much for watching :)

Hi Adnan! Sorry it took me a while to get to this. Thank you for your patience! What kind of neck do you have? Is it a finished neck or bare wood?

Enjoyed this informative video. Heading to music 🎶 store to purchase Dunlop 65 guitar 🎸 clean system for me strat. Thank you for this site...👍👍
Quick question, what do you use to clean the neck (back side of the frets board). thanks for the video.

Great video Cory, I didn’t know that you need to clean guitar with special spray
Thanks for watching! There are even more specific cleaners depending on the type of finish! That's why I love this kit. It is pretty universal
What about the back of the neck? do I use both 65's?
Time to clean my guitar!

I have a sandblasted guitar so could I still clean the body? Thanks

@@CoryPlaysBass thanks homie! I've heard of both those methods, but I'll try tomorrow morning before i setup my guitar. I'll keep ya posted 🤘

Am I able to use this on a acoustic?

Try zippo lighter fluid, it tends to be great for cleaning up / degreasing
Can i use this in acoustic guitar?
