Apologies if you're getting a second notification for the same video! I got in a teensie bit of trouble because I accidentally used music that wasn't copyright free, so I had to take this video down to fix it. I was very sad to have to lose so many lovely comments! Please help me feel better by leaving me a new lovely comment 🤪
You always have such great ideas Catherine! Your channel has inspired me to be creative with clothes I don’t love anymore. Or just to be brave and cut those sleeves to a better length for me. I’ve already transformed a few shirts and now when I look at my clothes I think “what would I like to change about that… 🤔” Thank you for all this great content 😘
You are right. The sweater looks more sofisicated without the trim. Beautiful sweater and skirt. Wow. Thank you Catherine. I have gotten Soo many great ideas from your upcycling videos. Luv, luv, luv, your videos. 💕💕💕👏👏👏
I just had to tell you that watching your channel has made me a much more daring sewer. I used to get so discouraged when my product didn’t fit right but watching you go at it until you’re satisfied and the garment/ outfit is perfect has inspired me to sew on!!!! Yesterday I made a skirt that ended a disaster but I rethought, repinned and resewed and it turned out darling. Thank you 😁😁👍👍
Wow! Until I started watching your videos, I never knew you could cut apart a sweater and manipulate it with a home sewing machine! Thank you SO MUCH for your content! I especially appreciate it that you show us times when your machine seizes. I thought that only happened to beginners. ❤❤❤
every time the machine gave you trouble I jumped!! I thought it was my inexperience but nice to know it happens to the pros too! Beautiful redo!! Thank you for sharing
I notice you choose nice makes of clothes to work on Catherine! Also, I love your attitude. It teaches me a lot about problem-solving for life in general.
Even if I had hated this video, I would still be SO grateful because you allowed us to see - and hear - your machine being disagreeable. I live in fear of that noise and assumed your machine would never treat you that way. Glad also to hear that the solution is doing those things it balks at by hand. I thought I was just being defeatist. And I will always take an opportunity to thank you once again for your video on resizing a T-Shirt. You have improved my wardrobe SO much!!!!!
This turned out soooo cute! I like the trim, too. But, I agree -not on this suit! I really enjoy watching you work. It's cool that you take on difficult projects & calmly make them happen! I love your excitement when you model the fnished product! I remember beeing like that... You are making me want to sew again! Thank you! ❤❤❤
You may never see this, my 3 month behind comment, but I wanted you know you did the right thing taking off the trim!! Well done, it looks so good!!!!!
I AM sorry, Catherine, but I am just LOL! I thought that I was the only one whose machine would throw fits like that! Your videos are my consolation sometimes. 😂
You are so full of creative ideas. I just love your videos although I’m not as adventurous as you. I agree, the trim needed to come off. Well done, as usual😊
That turned out super cute. I agree that it looks better without the trim. I do like the buttons you decided on. The striped set together is nice, but I especially like the top paired with the black pants and the the skirt with the black top. Thank you for not cutting out all the oopsies and including your thought and decision making process throughout, and also how you work through how to solve any issues that come up. I also love all the tips you provide as you go, like how to downsize correctly through the armhole area. So much great information presented in such a fun, enjoyable way. As an aside, I actually prefer videos without added music.
That was a nice upcycle. I think the trim might have worked without any buttons but with hooks and eyes as the closure. So invisible. For me the problem was too many elements together. I could be wrong though. I agree that the curve at the “lapel” area didn’t match the collar shape perfectly. But the whole result is very cool and versatile.
Great job!! Love your videos so much. The delicate floral trim with all it's small curvey lines are romantic in personality. The sweater stripes are hard straight lines with extreme black white contrast making this a dramatic personality. Although a fun idea...the two personality styles don't blend...so it's good you listened to that inner voice and pulled the delicate trim from the project. Very successful outfit 😊!!
I have been upcycling tees and love the waistband exchange in the jeans. Can't wait for more. Not a fan of my upper arms. Hopefully the warmer season videos will keep that in mind for some of us gals with the same issues😊
Recently discovered your channel and I LOVE it…especially your style of teaching. I live on Coastal Massachusetts. Am finding a ton of Hand Knit Irish Aran sweaters discarded as well as many similar from Norway. Would love a tutorial on lining these sweaters…itch factor is a problem.🌻.
WOW! Well done thrift flip! I didn't like the fancy trim before you finished applying it. The stripes of the sweater seemed a bit sporty for the trim. It looks darling on you. You are very creative and secure in trying to create new outfits. I'm going to purchase a serger and I was happy to see you have a video for new folks like me.😂 I'm subscribing to see your new creations! Keep on sewing!
I love your upbeat attitude and how you are not afraid to experiment! It's nice to see how not everything you work on is a complete success at first, but you keep going until you are happy with it. I want to get my own sewing machine and serger so I can modify clothes for me and my wife!
Bonjour =) Je préfère les boutons finalement choisis, et j'adore le résultat, comme pour chaque vidéo d'ailleurs ^^ Prenez soin de vous, merci pour les vidéos très bienvenues, à bientôt =)
Haha, I liked the music, lol, I just didn't realize it wasn't meant for public use. My bad! I was sad to take down 3K views and so many sweet comments! 🥲
Such a great flip! The top is very striking alone, and together make such a cute outfit. Like it better without trim, and the sweet buttons with the hard geometrics of the stripes is perfect. Thank you so much for your inspiration 💕
Hi Catherine! What a great project, nicely done. It looks lovely. I am really looking forward to learning as much as I can from you. I have a jumpsuit I ordered on Amazon that I am hoping to make a pattern from, it has tank top style top which isn't really my thing but I'll wear it that way, it's really cute. I am hoping to figure out how make one myself but add sleeves. I am guessing I should practice making a simple t-shirt pattern and t-shirt before making this pretty basic jumpsuit though.

I enjoy your videos so much I don't hear what music is playing in the background. I love your ideas... very inspiring.
This issue makes me so mad, Catherine. My Robocop video got demonetized, and I didn't even use a single bit of sound.
Catherine it looks beautiful on you. I liked the larger buttons but I think they all looked good with the cardigan. Have a great weekend 😊
Wow, what a super cute outfit, it looks great on you! Way to go, Catherine!

Cate!! That absolutely makes my day!

I love the whole ensemble. Your creativity is inspiring.

So great to hear, Suzy! Thanks so much!

Adorable. Loooooooove both pieces and yes, the trim did need to come off the cardigan
Loved the sweater and the skirt. I like the sweater without the trim.
You may never see this, my 3 month behind comment, but I wanted you know you did the right thing taking off the trim!! Well done, it looks so good!!!!!
I never liked the added trim, so glad you removed it, it looks so much better w/o it!! Love the outfit!
I think you should use the decorative buttons. They look fabulous with the trim
I AM sorry, Catherine, but I am just LOL! I thought that I was the only one whose machine would throw fits like that! Your videos are my consolation sometimes. 😂
So happy to see you removed the trim. You look fantastic 🎉
You are so full of creative ideas. I just love your videos although I’m not as adventurous as you. I agree, the trim needed to come off. Well done, as usual😊
Wow that massive sweater turned into usable clothing!
That turned out super cute. I agree that it looks better without the trim. I do like the buttons you decided on. Thanks so much for all that great feedback!
I like the larger two tone buttons.
I agree with you about the trim, much classier without it. Sometimes less is definitely more. Thank you Katherine. X x x
Clever & creative project. Thanks for sharing.
Cute suit, love it without the trim. If you use a ‘walking‘ foot on your machine, you’ll be able to easily sew through bulky fabrics❤️✨
I love it without the trim. Very cute sweater.
I really like both pieces together with the black top and the black tights. You were right about leaving off the trim!
I love your videos, I like how you take the time & explain things from begging to end. The out come is always beautiful too
I love this transformation. I'm glad you removed the trim. So much neater without it
So glad you dropped the trim. LOL!
Thank you! Great video.
Love this video.. I have a sweater dress and will do exactly what you did. Thanks for the inspiration! You have the best attitude. 👌
It’s great without the trim!

I was thinking the ribbon was going to be to much. Love your videos.
Yea I kinda liked it without the trim but they turned out perfect and so versatile.
Love, love, love it! Definitely better without the trim. So clever!
Lovely results!
Oh my heart stopped when the machine started doing those noises!
Reminded of when I broke the needles!
Great refashion! I agree, removing the trim made the cardigan look 👌.
Love the trim!
Later in the video I love it even better without the trim!!!
I have been upcycling tees and love the waistband exchange in the jeans. Can't wait for more. Not a fan of my upper arms. Hopefully the warmer season videos will keep that in mind for some of us gals with the same issues😊
That's an excellent point! Thanks for the feedback.
Cute! Yes, def better without the trim - great work, that was fun to watch. ❤❤❤
Glad you liked it!! Thanks!
Love the trim and buttons!!
I think you called all this right. I love all the looks!
Glad you took off the trim!!
Really cute! I agree, the jacket looks so much nicer without the trim! Great job!

You sure have sparked my create. Absolutely love your videos
Bonjour =)
Je préfère les boutons finalement choisis, et j'adore le résultat, comme pour chaque vidéo d'ailleurs ^^

Here for the new and improved version...without the bad music!
Haha, I liked the music, lol, I just didn't realize it wasn't meant for public use. My bad! I was sad to take down 3K views and so many sweet comments! 🥲
Turned out really cute😊
That's fantastic
Such a great flip! The top is very striking alone, and together make such a cute outfit. Like it better without trim, and the sweet buttons with the hard geometrics of the stripes is perfect. Thank you so much for your inspiration 💕
Love what you created Catherine it’s beautiful, I agree better without the trim but love the buttons. So very clever thank you 🇦🇺💖
Great job and I jumped at 16:26!
No trim 😊
What a sweet sweater set it came out to be!! Great idea and great job. Love your videos, looking forward to the next one. God Bless
I jumped with you when your machine gets nasty! Mine does it occasionally and I jump then too!
It’s great. Good idea.
You are such a inspiration!
I think your sewing machine was telling you "NO" on the trim.
Sooooo cute! I love it!
Very cute!
Thanks!
Awwww, Julie! Thanks so much for the SuperThanks!! That really means a lot to me!!
I think it looks better without the trim
considering it's for winter season, i would've added a bit of lining to the skirt. don't know if it would've worked 😅 but i would've tried.
I think that trim would have looked perfect around the neck edge only because it breaks up the black when wearing with a black t-shirt

I like it better without the trim too.
It looks great - so pleased you removed the trim. I was wishing I was your phone a friend, just to say ‘don’t do it!’.
Haha, yes, I wish I had phoned you!
Glad you removed that trim!
No trim
Skip the trim
Glad you ditched the trim
