      The Olds was a bazillion times better than the low-rent Caprice with its Chevette hardware and cheesy knobs and speedometer graphics. The Buick was also very nice with silver, round instruments though I don't think Buick offered the optional gage package like the Olds. I've never seen a Buick with the extra voltmeter, oil pressure, and temp gages.

      Around the early 2000's I also had a 1980 Delta 88. It was debut year for the 307 and the only year that it wasn't saddled with the Computer controlled emission system (Check Engine light). My granddad was a car salesman at a local Oldsmobile and Cadillac dealer. He drove many of these same Oldsmobiles as a demo. Those things would just float down the road, and the seats were like the nice recliner in your living room. Every time my parents and I took a road trip to visit family out of town, we’d always go in his demo car. He got new ones very often.

      I drove many of these early to mid-'80s B-bodies when they were new. The Ford Panthers (Crown Vic and Grand Marquis) rode softer and more pillowy but I think the GM engines from this era were better. I don't recall wind noise being an issue with any of the GMs. The Fords seemed to soak up bumps better but the handling was probably better with the GMs.

    Not bad at all. I see it has a 4 speed in it. Is it a 200 or 700R4 or something else?

    • @Dinkymaster7
      @Dinkymaster7  6 місяців тому +1

      I think it's the weaker 200. I'm not sure actually, but it is overdrive (though I didn't use it during this video so that I could keep the revs up).

    Nice looking and riding cars but you could make a sandwich, then eat it in less time then it takes that thing to go from 0 to 80 mph.
