I'd say yes. You have resources and equipment. So basically you just get some extra kp, even if less efficiently. And you will max and use Ragnar next anyhow - big improvement with respect to Guan. But I wouldn't separate Guan Scipio since you have them maxed and synergy on rage when silenced would be wasted. IMHO Liu/Gorgo, Guan/Scip and Ragnar/Tariq.
Not gonna argue about "3 infantry marches", this is not what you are asking help for. On a quick note: i'd not even run 2 cause you appear to not have a single legendary accesory ... On topic: You should run: LuChe-Alex Ragnar-Scipio Guan-Sargon (cause Guan's 4th do trigger Sargon's Awed debuff, making him the best pair) And once we get the Swap, change Alex into Philip and profit, trust me Slow invest on Ragnar + swap on Philip should let you enough time to get back to 700gh for the next inf release (~160days) while having all the very best comms for a triple infantry set up
So first of all with just your current marches your 2 inf marches should be guan/scipi and liu/alex. As for Ragnar it depends I am also deciding on if he is worth investing. Short term say you max him your 3 inf marches would be scipio/rag then you have the classic guan/alex, and gorgo/liu. Long term assuming inf keeps on the smite damage meta next inf cycle you would probably end up with scipio/rag and 2 full smite marches or one full smite and liu/alex depending on who the new commander pairs with. I am an inf main running 3 inf marches and I have not yet moved in on ragnar simply because he doesn't match the direction that the inf meta has been going in. I may yet max him knowing guan is headed for the bench soon though, especially since we have the commander reset coming in Jan.
Very insightful. Question. Everyone keeps saying to use liu/alex. But gorgo trades insanely better. Do you think it’s better to use alex over gorgo? Or is it because most people don’t have gorgo
@WarKoopa I have gorgo maxed and ya she does trade better in some situations. However in my experience when ball in open field ball fights it can be hard to get consistent skill cycles to pop off because she is too slow and your targets retreat as soon at they get hit. Unfortunately, that is most fights I have in this game and there Alex's instant proc performs better.
If youre going to invest in ragnar, you really should fully invest and expertise. His damage overtime to one target becomes aoe to all 3 targets hit. If you dont expertise him, youre kinda just wasting your sculptures. Some commanders just arent meant to be "budget built", and hes one of them. Hes a monster in the mb, and worth every gh.
I still have not seen any hard data on Ragnar pairs. Content creators are all saying he's great, and perhaps he is indeed the new skill meta, but no one has the receipts in a video. I would wait till someone provides definite testing in the new RoK battle simulator or something in the Ark practice arena. Idk...

I had the same problem. Watched wardaddychadski 1st video on 3 inf marches and he said best of 3 inf smite setup: ragnar/scipio, lc/alex and ww gorgo. If skill dmg its: ww/lc, scipio/alex and guan/ragmar. I dont have ww, sargon and tariq so i think i will run: gorgo/lc, scipio/alex and guan/ragnar. My gear is similar to yours, but the problem is march speed on gorgo/lc and guan/ragnar, so i might just dump guan on the bech and make the best of march speed. If i were u id run lc/alex, guan/scipio and ragnar/tariq. Hope my experience helps u and if u have any advice for my 3 inf marches im wide open!:)
never put sargon in murderballs. its just not good enough anymore. I would advise you to hold on your gold heads, and not invest into ragnar. Is he better than guan? -yes definatly. But that much better after next inf cycle? -no Keep your current marches and safe up for the next inf cycle, seeing that you play siege, you most definatly would be interested in the new siege commanders as well
