Hi Gabbi, I graduated High School (US) in 1988. I have worn every single fragrance in this video. Oh how I miss the 80s ( really I just miss how I looked in the 80s 😂) but my favorite 80s perfume that I still wear to this day is Giorgio of Beverly Hills - my father gave me my first bottle in 1985 for Christmas and I have been wearing it ever since. Thank you for the wonderful memories.
I have recently been going back to all the 80s perfumes. I'm so exhausted with gourmands. I'm loving Ysatis, Giorgio, Jontue, Obsession (but a dupe), and a rarely heard of scent called Touch of Venus. It's so nostalgic, and so wonderful, to revisit these loud florals and spicy musks.
You are the QUEEN of the 80s! Classic selections. I bet everyone remembers what these smell like. Do get a vintage Obsession formulation. I am hunting one down myself! Worth having. 🥰🥰🥰
I also want to try and find a vintage formulation of Obsession. I currently have a very new one and I think it's great! Although, I tend to wear my vintage Krazy Krizia more often because it's a bit smoother and powdery and more "every day" yet still statement making.
I remember the shoulder pads because I always cut them out. You might remember Mary Quant Havoc, I loved it. It was my girls night out fragrance. It came out in the 70’s, but I discovered it later.
I love 80's fragrances. Vintages in general had so much personality. I have been re-collecting many of them. Anais Anais, I wore in junior high, I remember thinking how beautiful the bottle was. I don't remember antlers...were they a thing? I do remember big hair and loads of hairspray...and leg warmers. xx
Grange Hill was brilliant Gabbi, favourite fragrances for me Ysatis, Rive Gauuche, I think that was 7os, Obsession, Opium they made stronf perfumes then! ❤❤❤
I heard Anais Anais was named after the sex writer and intellectual, Anais Nin. Have no idea if it’s true but I remember so many aunties and older teen girls owning it along with most of the ones you mentioned. 80s and 90s were the last golden age of childhood in my opinion. Wonderful video, Gabby ❤️. Things I remember: leg warmers, jelly bracelets and shoes, enormous hair bows, Atari computers, pac man, Back to the Future movies, synth pop, He Man and She-ra cartoons after school, and so much more ❤️🥰.
I wore Exclamation! Sprayed and sprayed and thought it was the best fragrance ever! Also, I wore the Classic Chloe from the 70s by Karl Lagerfeld. As I did jazz ballet and dance, I wore pink and turquoise leg warmers and leotards (often neon-coloured) several times a week! Headband, too. Think Jane Fonda :D And once I had a perm - but only my fringe! :D haha!
One of my favorite perfume genres! My picks are in my "Powerful Perfumes of the 80's" video (my favorite one I ever made!). Obsession is still a fantastic cold weather scent! ❤

I recently got my hands on a 90's version and yes, it's a bit dated, but I don't care!!!! It's soooooo incredibly beautiful. Soft and sensual but also commanding and undeniable.

Hi Gabi. I see that you have a bottle of the original Obsession. It smells so gorgeous and opulent. The new formulation is ok but doesn’t last as long.
Gabi, I got married in 1981 so this video brought back so many memories. Obsession, Poison, Halston, Ysatis, I loved them all. I wore the shoulder pads and pencil shirts. Another fragrance that I’d forgotten until recently seeing it in a video was Mary Kay’s Intrigue. I loved that fragrance and if I can find it at a reasonable price I’d buy it. The 80’s were truly special for me as it was my coming of age, watching my children develop into amazing folks and making lifelong friendships while smelling fabulous.
The vintage extrait of Poison is available at pretty decent prices on EBay if you keep an eye out. It’s absolutely insane! I love it but when I wear Poison, it’s the modern formula for me. I adore the sweetness and juicyness that’s missed for me in the vintage version. I’m not sure if that was lost with age or not as present in the vintage.
I'm on the hunt for a vintage extrait maybe I should get a modern poison. I think the sweetness may have come either the newer formula Dior states it is accords of tuberose coriander and opponax which us sweet myhrr maybe that is why.

Last year I bought a bottle of Poison from Walgreens, wore it a bit but had to return it because I needed the money )-; I can see Poison being one of my signatures too, it’s so juicy and intriguing. I’ve been wanting to try Ysatis so badly. Haven’t smelled Lou Lou. But really want to. And Obsession never gets old! One sprits is enough hehe
