    Do you have a clean up video? Which of the supplies are one and done vs cleaned up to re-use? I assume you clean off your paddle mixer and trowel then toss out the chop brush.

    Couple of questions:
    Is it possible to convert an existing bevel edged island and square edged countertops into rounded/bullnose edges? Also, does your website offer swatch/sample kits? I'd like to do an epoxy patterned after sodalite on our existing formica countertops/island but hate the edges currently on both, and would like practice on creating the pattern.

    Hello, I’m about to get started on my counter top and I have all the supplies ready. I’m doing your White and Brass Marble dirty pour. A few days ago I called and asked how long I have to wait before I reinstall the sink after the clear coat. One of your reps told me I’d have to wait 4 days. Today I called with another question and asked again about wait period. I was told that after applying the clear coat I have to wait 7 days before reinstalling the sink? However, if instead of doing a clear coat on top of the color coat I do your Ultimate Top Coat, I only have to wait 24 hours after the UTC to reinstall the sink. I am a little frustrated to be honest. What is the best advice?

    Focus less on colors and more on basic process. My countertops have dried for 4 months. I was using a temp kitchen and it took that long to reassemble the new kitchen . I just put a cutting board on my brand new Stonecoat counter top and it left dents. I did some research and found it's called a "soft cure" because my room was not between 70 and 75 degrees. I've watched endless hours of SCC videos. Nowhere do they stress the specific temps that will allow proper curing. My countertops look beautiful, but I can't put anything on them.

      That's interesting... I've heard about improper mixing ratios, but nothing about temps. Thank You 👍

    When can you reinstall your kitchen sink? Literally just finished laying the clear coat.

    • @StoneCoatCountertops
      @StoneCoatCountertops  Рік тому

      are you applying the top coat too or are you wrapped up now? If you're done with epoxy steps you can go ahead and install it, if you're gonna top coat, wait until thats fully cured as well then install the sink. hope that helps!

    • @The_San_Juan
      @The_San_Juan Рік тому

      Interesting, one of your costumer service people told me that you have to wait 3-4 days after the clear coat. Then I called again and was told I have to wait 7 days before sitting the sink back in place. BUT, if I do the Ultimate Top Coat on top of the color coat -a and not do the clear coat- I can install the sink in 24 hours after that? So which one is it?

    Is it possible to pour epoxy resin over true granite stone?

    • @StoneCoatCountertops
      @StoneCoatCountertops  Рік тому

      yes! it can be applied over any slick natural surface with the right prep steps. First clean with TSP, scuff with a diamond cup wheel grinder or at minimum 60 grit, apply bonding primer, then you're off to the races

  • @1dariansdad
    @1dariansdad Рік тому

    So, after doing a couple of pieces, I now skip the chop step. It makes a mess and accomplishes nothing if your mixing and troweling are solid. Fact is, the heat will liquefy the epoxy and smooth all the "trowel lines". By skipping the chop, I get less air entrained in the product and a much shorter process.

    • @StoneCoatCountertops
      @StoneCoatCountertops  Рік тому

      the reason why we dont like to skip chopping is because it's insurance of making sure it's completely mixed. mixed in the bucket, mixed on the surface with the trowel, and mix a final time with the chopping. you're correct though it definitely is a skippable step, but also by doing so you're ensuring you have no under mixed epoxy

    • @1dariansdad
      @1dariansdad Рік тому +1

      @@StoneCoatCountertops I get it. But, I machine mix in the bucket for at least 4 minutes, scrape the sides and mix again for one minute. If it ain't mixed by then, it ain't getting mixed with a chop brush.
