Very cool kits! Chrysler is lookin sweet. Good move on Painting over it. Must have been awesome driving around in your T,-bird. I'm lookin forward to seeing what your dad has in mind
Excellent update on your projects Eric. Hopefully you can locate the parts for the '67. I bought a '69 T-bird last year without the box for $10. The Chrysler is looking good. I'm sure the front bumper will work out. Cool looking '57. Enjoy your weekend.
@@CycolacFan reverse engineering of tools is possible in many cases, if they still have the tool, negating need for new tooling. I spoke with AMT at the Detroit model show this Spring about another T-Bird model, and the representative said it can possibly be done and they may look into it. No guarantees, of course.
@@rayrussell6258 they won’t have the 1967 tooling, as I said it became the 1968, then 1969 etc. So reverse engineering a kit or backdating the most recent tool - the 1971 maybe? - would be the only alternatives to new tooling. Don’t know if the demand would be there… as for a new Thunderbird I’d guess a 1960 (if the 1/32 version sold well) or 1963-64 would be a good bet.
@@CycolacFan you don't "reverse engineer" a kit. You are not understanding the process. The tooling dies themself are reverse engineered, they get slightly re-surfaced back to previous years with "inserts" (so they can use the same die for multiple models). The parts from those dies are the same, just re-sculptured. And the tool for the 1970/1971 would not at all be the same as for the 67/68/69. the bodies on those two generations are not alike at all. The 66 Tbird is the one I talked with AMT about, saying they could go back to do 64 and 65 with very small tooling revisions. The rep wrote it down for discussion and review back at headquarters, to look into feasibility. They have the 66 tooling for both hardtop and convertible. They've issued re-releases of those 66 kits, and I told them they are limiting sales that way, for instance I won't buy more 66 models, but would buy 64 and 65. The 63 and 64 are not the same body/tool. Right now, when they re-release kits on those bodies, it is a '62 or '66.
Man, I like that 67 Tbird. Very nice looking work on all of your builds. That Chrysler and the 57 Ford are great! I'll be watching to see your progress.
Your custom looks very interesting, Yes, Yes, Please continue with the build! It does not look to be complicated as to the front end blending at all. I like the look of the body lines and how it flows from front to back. That '67 is a very fine kit, Good luck with finding the rest of it. It will look very nice built up too! I would like to find the '67 Cougar kit. I do wish Your Father well, I will keep him in Prayer. Well, Take Care, Be Safe, God Bless, Later
Nice work Eric, on that 57 Ford how would a grill off of a 49 Mercury or Ford sedan ? Awesome shine on the rebuild. I would like to see that dehydration thing you talked about. Thanks for sharing!
Thanks, John! I'll give the 49 merc grille a try and see how it looks. Heres a link to a video that I did with the dehydrator: ua-cam.com/video/mErNMKkd7Ac/v-deo.htmlsi=tOwbhaqtkBuXdQmM. Thanks for watching!

I sure would like to have a re-release of the '67 T-Bird, AMT!!
Agreed! Thanks, Ray👍
Pretty sure it became the 1968, then ‘69 and so on… although they could re-tool it if there was enough demand.

Classic T Bird, bummer on that grill/bumper for the 67, nice repair Eric, 😎👍
Thanks, Tom!
Nice looking Tbird, the search for the missing parts begins.💭😟
Thanks, David! I have a feeling this one may be a bit tougher to find parts for. It's still fun looking around for them👍
Two good looking projects. I'm diggin the 57 Ford.
Thanks, Zippi!
Very nice shine on the 67 300.
