Her character development is the best thing in tvd. She went from a superficial self-indulgent person to a badass with sass to support her heart. Caroline is my favorite character. She is the strongest one...she manages to get through everything so well...she just keeps smiling and taking the shit for her friends, when she's just ignored by everyone. She tries to fix when she's so broken...I love her. She is the best role model you could have from series.
Reasons that Caroline is and always will be my favorite character: She was extremely relate-able in Season 1. I instantly understood her insecurities and felt for her because growing up I always had the best friend that everyone loved and everyone liked. All the guys I had crushes on would talk to me to ask about HER. It sucks and it hurts. But, she blossoms in Season 2. And it's always good to see the underdog blossom and grow! Caroline is proof that not all Vampires just become a more heightened version of themselves! She did keep a lot of her personality traits that became stronger, yes. (Planning, controlling, multitasking, etc.) But, her insecurities eventually faded and she became this confident, kindhearted and compassionate person that she desperately wanted to be when she was human! She went from "kiddie pool shallow" to "ocean deep". =P

Actually no she is a caring person. Every single vampire is bad but they are good too. All of them are caring. And no she isn't just using people. She loves all her friends. Caroline let her sexual vampire drive get in the way which is a flaw in being a vampire but that doesn't mean she is using her friends. Elena is the one that is the worse character after she became a vampire.
Well it's okay if you don't like her that's your opinion. And yes, she has her flaws. Like you said, i didn't like the whole Klaus thing either (nor do I ship Klaroline), but everyone has flaws, that what makes characters sympathetic. He showed her boyfriend, who hurt her in more ways than one, mercy. He was pissed at Tyler. He wanted to kill him on Caroline's behalf for hurting her and he had his own reasons. Klaus never once lied to her, he never once made her feel like she was worthless, like she was shallow. She was beautiful, and full of light to him. He wanted to spend the rest of his life with her. Being by her side. But she chose her friends. She wanted to get away, but her loyalty made him not go. (And very minimally Tyler) but he was always choosing her over anything. He chose Caroline over Rebekah when he was in Tyler's body, but he still chose Caroline over his little sister. She came to him when he was getting ready to sacrifice his life for Hope, and said that that was all she had ever wanted. For him to be a a good man, and a good father. She knew about Mikael and his abuse, but Caroline never once used it against him to make him do something for her. (Okay, that one time, but she was fed up with him being a bad father in not talking to his daughter for 5 years)
Why are people saying that Klaus left her, I mean she made him promise to never come back, and he understood what she meant. now, I hope nobody kills me for this, but I think the only person who can even come close to understanding and being with Caroline is Klaus. yeah, he did all this bad stuff to her friends and all, but despite that and all the times she has distracted him and tried to hurt him for her friends, he has always put her first and has always cared about her safety. I mean, at first he used to her to get to Stefan, but once he went to go cute her, I think he saw himself in her eyes. he could see all her loneliness and her insecurities. but he could also see that if she gave vampirism a chance, that she would blossom and become a strong, beautiful, smart woman that would be a force of nature. he's always believed in her, challenged her, and he shows sides of himself that he didn't show with anybody else. like even though they weren't officially together, they are a believable couple because they understand each other in a way that's extremely intimate and deep and beautiful. and it all comes down to the fact that when Klaus was human he was always second best compared to his siblings and his father never cared about him. this can be considered a parallel to how Caroline always feels second best when it comes to Elena. and you know, I'm glad that even if it hasn't been officially confirmed, though the TVD finale did open the door to their relationship finally happening, that they both have people that can understand them. and I feel like even after a long period of time they will continue to teach each other things. like Kkuas will definitely reach Caroline how to embrace vmapire life and how to live it to its fullest capacity. but he will also teach her about the beauty of life, all the good and the bad. But Caroline, she can teach him how to be human and compassionate and to be a bit more lenient. before they spent time together, he was this ruthless hybrid killer that didn't give anybody any second chances, but she peeled back the layers and she discovered this beautiful, broken man that was looking for lifelong companionship because that was something he never felt he had. that's why they are the best ship ever and I hope that if the Originals gets renewed for a 5th season that we can finally see what Alaric meant about Klaroline being the beginning of a completely different story. #CarolineRocks # Klaroline # KlausisAlphaMale #TVD/TO #Elenaisabitch #butistillloveher

You couldn't truly learn anything because they are too worried about hurting you. Even if it isn't klaus, i just think someone who has been alive for a while should teach her about living life as a vampire. I truly adore caroline... she has grown into the beautiful and strong lady she is now... After all the sorrow and pain, she still stands on both her feet and puts on a smile and protect those who she loves, no matter what. I just love how she grew in the serie... really...
And then klaus came along to be the first person to see the best in her immediately, and love her unconditionally and treated her the way she’s never been treated before by any other guy. As cute as steroline was, even Stefan couldn’t make up his mind for a while. With klaus it was automatic, and simple instant love and he admired her immediately. Where other guys saw her as bossy, klaus saw her as strong. When other guys found her organization and leadership of big events annoying, klaus found it endearing and one of her best traits. When other guys saw her as neurotic, klaus saw it as beautifully intense and goal oriented. Where other guys just wrote her off as being insecure, klaus saw the truth in it just being her hidden deep need to just be loved. He admired her so much it’s insane, and without question. He’s the only boy whose love she never had to fight for.
He was finally the man she wanted him to be, she finally could acknowledge her feelings for him and what she wanted, and then JP and herTO finale took that away. Caroline deserved better.

And Caroline is totally right when she says everyone always picks Elena first and I don't even know why like what's so special about her. Elena is the most boring, stupid and self absorbed character i've ever seen(and I watch a lot of shows) and still everyone loves her. It's always Elena, Elena this Elena that.
While I think in the course of the series Carolines storyline got a bit better, she still didn't get what she deserves as the awesome female character that she is.

Actually no she is a caring person. Every single vampire is bad but they are good too. All of them are caring. And no she isn't just using people. She loves all her friends. Caroline let her sexual vampire drive get in the way which is a flaw in being a vampire but that doesn't mean she is using her friends. Elena is the one that is the worse character after she became a vampire.

Well it's okay if you don't like her that's your opinion. And yes, she has her flaws. Like you said, i didn't like the whole Klaus thing either (nor do I ship Klaroline), but everyone has flaws, that what makes characters sympathetic. But i do like her and i think that she is actually a really kind person with a tender heart and so much love to give. I never said she is perfect, i said that as a character the show didn't treat her right, because they were focusing so much on Elena and these stupid romances. Doesn't matter if she is bad or good, she is one of the main characters and not just some sidekick, so they should have given her some proper storyline from the begining, that's all.

(And very minimally Tyler) but he was always choosing her over anything. He chose Caroline over Rebekah when he was in Tyler's body, but he still chose Caroline over his little sister. She came to him when he was getting ready to sacrifice his life for Hope, and said that that was all she had ever wanted. For him to be a a good man, and a good father. She knew about Mikael and his abuse, but Caroline never once used it against him to make him do something for her. (Okay, that one time, but she was fed up with him being a bad father in not talking to his daughter for 5 years)

now, I hope nobody kills me for this, but I think the only person who can even come close to understanding and being with Caroline is Klaus. yeah, he did all this bad stuff to her friends and all, but despite that and all the times she has distracted him and tried to hurt him for her friends, he has always put her first and has always cared about her safety. I mean, at first he used to her to get to Stefan, but once he went to go cute her, I think he saw himself in her eyes. he could see all her loneliness and her insecurities. but he could also see that if she gave vampirism a chance, that she would blossom and become a strong, beautiful, smart woman that would be a force of nature.
he's always believed in her, challenged her, and he shows sides of himself that he didn't show with anybody else.
like even though they weren't officially together, they are a believable couple because they understand each other in a way that's extremely intimate and deep and beautiful. and it all comes down to the fact that when Klaus was human he was always second best compared to his siblings and his father never cared about him. this can be considered a parallel to how Caroline always feels second best when it comes to Elena.
and you know, I'm glad that even if it hasn't been officially confirmed, though the TVD finale did open the door to their relationship finally happening, that they both have people that can understand them. and I feel like even after a long period of time they will continue to teach each other things. like Kkuas will definitely reach Caroline how to embrace vmapire life and how to live it to its fullest capacity. but he will also teach her about the beauty of life, all the good and the bad. But Caroline, she can teach him how to be human and compassionate and to be a bit more lenient. before they spent time together, he was this ruthless hybrid killer that didn't give anybody any second chances, but she peeled back the layers and she discovered this beautiful, broken man that was looking for lifelong companionship because that was something he never felt he had.
that's why they are the best ship ever and I hope that if the Originals gets renewed for a 5th season that we can finally see what Alaric meant about Klaroline being the beginning of a completely different story.

You couldn't truly learn anything because they are too worried about hurting you. Even if it isn't klaus, i just think someone who has been alive for a while should teach her about living life as a vampire. To teach her to cope with her losses, years and years, decades even, after she has lost all her human friends and family.

And then klaus came along to be the first person to see the best in her immediately, and love her unconditionally and treated her the way she’s never been treated before by any other guy. As cute as steroline was, even Stefan couldn’t make up his mind for a while. With klaus it was automatic, and simple instant love and he admired her immediately. Where other guys saw her as bossy, klaus saw her as strong. When other guys found her organization and leadership of big events annoying, klaus found it endearing and one of her best traits. When other guys saw her as neurotic, klaus saw it as beautifully intense and goal oriented. Where other guys just wrote her off as being insecure, klaus saw the truth in it just being her hidden deep need to just be loved. He admired her so much it’s insane, and without question. He’s the only boy whose love she never had to fight for.
He was finally the man she wanted him to be, she finally could acknowledge her feelings for him and what she wanted, and then JP and herTO finale took that away. Caroline deserved better.
