I think treble hooks would increase the hookup rate but as a downside they do more damage to the fish

Nothing wrong with the plug, everything wrong with the hooks, too open, lacks penetration. Change out hook type and you’re on. You will stick and hold occasionally but lots of misses. How beautiful your area is.

You don't loosen the pulley. The fish is strong. So the place where the hook enters the fish's mouth becomes bigger. And when the fish moves its head right and north strongly, The hook is freed from her mouth. You have to tire the fish. By relaxing the pulley.

Wicked stuff bro🤙 that one big fish made up for all those other fish that pulled hooks, it was a beast😎 hoping you show us you trying to get some big reef fish and big snapper on bait on the next episodes😁that's my typ of fishing.. I swear if I wasn't living in South Africa and lived there I would have been there with you fishing bait and live bait from those rocks that's some of the most beautiful untouched unspoiled coastline ever and can only imagine the amount monsters that must be swimming in their!!

Are you not allowed to keep those fish? Figured you'd be eating it while camping.
They are just to large to keep, I had no way of keeping the meat fresh so it would be a waste to keep one on this trip. I was keeping the smaller Kahawai for food as they don't have a size limit and they are good meal size fish

When you first opened that box of lures I must admit, even I was impressed, but, apparently, that lure is crap! So, to answer your question you asked at 18:35......cuz it's crap!

That was a crazy session! Do you sharpen your hooks Joe? I have never seen pull hooks usually if you connect their yours unless they rub you off.
I usually switch them out for new ones when they blunten, but I do have a hook file that I sometimes do a quick touch up. I think sometimes you just get unlucky with the hook set placement

I get too jealous! you have amazing spots over there! here in South Africa we call the kings Yellowtail, but our spots are difficult to get to and really foal! they bust you up, keen to get one on film on lure! got some good kings on bait before an some smaller ones on lure! great videos bru!

Mate you just lost all theses fish because you were blocking the reel from spinning with your other hand and didn't gave fish sometime to get tired and to give up for you, you were doing a tug of war with fish and that's why you lost so many many big ones.
You were pulled almost to the water even, that's not safe at all.
Take those treble hooks off and put a single circle hook, better for big fish. That’s what they are blowing it
Check and sharpen ur hooks mate...and troll back just a little bit slower. I think u had too much coffee today. 👍🏼
