Fun fact: If you go with the "Not taking Lyrium is probably a bad idea at this moment" option when Cullen first speaks to you about having stopped taking it, you'll get different options and speeches afterwards. For example, with Cassandra, you get a special saying "I told him this was a bad idea", whereas when you go talk to Cullen later, instead of "I never meant for this to interfer", he'll say "You were right, this was a mistake", to which you can answer "Are you okay?", "I'm not here to gloat (Inquisitor proceeds to say "I'm not here to tell you I told you so", to which Cullen responds "You might as well")", or "Will you listen now?". It doesn't interfer with the last options, but it's still fun to watch their bromance (if you're a male inquisitor) unfold.
I can't tell if this was intentional or not, but at 9:48 it almost looks like Cullen's hand is shaking when he's about to take the lyrium. I really have to applaud Bioware and Cullen's VA for such a fantastic portrayal of drug usage and withdrawal. You can really feel the pain Cullen is going through: the way his voice cracks when he says "I should be taking it!", the way he slams things (irritability/mood swings), trembling, dizzy spells (when he groans and falls forward, leaning on his desk for support), the paranoia and nightmares and possibly also hallucinations. I fortunately have never been addicted to nor ever had to suffer the effects of withdrawal from substance abuse. However I do know somewhat how Cullen feels because I still struggle with some bad habits and resisting the urge to engage in them. I think anybody who has ever struggled with breaking a bad habit, from nail-biting to binging on junk food, can get a sense for how Cullen feels in this. And of course, anyone who has struggled with drug or alcohol abuse and trying to overcome either of those will definitely know how Cullen feels. Well done, Bioware, well done.
Thanks for the vid. Good Work. The decision about the lyrium is even more troublesame for the carta dwarf Inqiusitor. Encourage one templer to abandon lyrium and many more are going to follow Cullen example. Thats rather terryfing news for dwarven economics.
P.S. What on earth are all those tools for at 4:33? I understand having a box with a lyrium potion but what are the two knives, the weird-looking spoon, the pump/dropper thing, and the spice grinder for? XD
For a split second I thought the spoon in the box was like a crack spoon, so I had this mental image of Cullen smoking the Lyrium and his office is just filled with magic blue smoke 😆
I'd like to make a video essay about Dragon Age, and I thought it would be fitting to put some scenes as background. May I use your recordings? Of course, I'll credit you and the videos I've used, both in the video itself and the description.
LOL. That bird at 11:26! XD
I’m glad i’m not the only one who noticed that! 😆
Its break dancing🤣🤣
Someone ordered same day shipping at 11:59 PM
Hahaha I saw that! Cole is slaughtering a Thanksgiving turkey in midair!
FORGET!!! XD

"Well...good luck finding a sword." Dick!Inquisitor kills me.

Still got the mage market who don’t seem to grow a addiction to lyrium
The end is pretty sad, but I really like that they put all of this in the game.
That bird at 11:26 took the lyrium!!! 😁
I always encourage him to stick with it and not give in, I’d seen Cullen go through enough in two games to let him fall to addiction.
14:27 “Everything’s fine inquisitor”
Umm Cullen I’m pretty sure that sword isn’t

Its probably like how people cut and grind pills to turn into powder or a liquid.. idk
Haha! Good question. I'm assuming it's for cutting and grinding lyrium. I think they ingest it in a suspension.
@@Thisisabunny That makes sense actually, thanks.

8:43 Cullen reluctantly agrees as he bottoms for the Inquisitor 🥵

Fun Fact: There's a secret third option, in which you convince Cullen to take Lyrium, but after defeating Corypheus, he stop taking it.
