Great video! I'm still tempted to learn about trading, I know people say 80-90% of people aren't successful and lose money, but a 10-20% success rate is not that bad. Something like 90% of people surely fail at a lot of things - weight loss, quitting smoking, learning an instrument, becoming self employed... We don't tell people never to start a business because a lot of them fail. Trading probably attracts a lot of get rich quick without doing much hard work type of people as there's no barrier to entry, no interview process etc. Then again I may be horribly wrong but I wouldn't bet the house on trades unless it was in the hands of a man I met here on UA-cam, Mr. Nicholas. who help me in the trading with his winning streak strategies. I was just thinking, Badger and TJ would be HILARIOUS together! I got nothing going but love for Norm, too! I guess Uncle LoJo was too busy feeding up his pond monsters! While the rod is pretty short, I typically use 6lb test for bass. My 9yo son caught his 1st bass, a 3 pounder, on a 6 1/2 ft, medium action spinning rod with 6lb test. The rod is at least 50 years old. (Shakespeare Wonderglass) So, you hit your "juicy bass hole"...too funny dude! I have been looking for a telescoping combo to keep in my trunk...JUST in case.

I know this is 2 years late but Ugly stick now makes a medium action 4 piece travel rod and reel combo, the reel is the GX2-30 with 5.1:1 gear ratio. I have it and love it, comes with carrying bag you can throw over your shoulder.

I know this is an older video but I have to comment on this. Just bought this rod and I LOVE IT!!!! The catch is that I removed the spin caster and installed a bait caster on this rod with 50lb braided line and this thing is a beast. I can cast this 70ft +. This will by my main go to when ever I go fishing.
What type of bait caster did you install?

Good quality operating wise,pole is like5'2" or close med lite action for anything up to and including 1/2oz traps.
not sure if you're still looking for a nice travel rod, but I go creek/pond hopping on my motorcycle and can say I like the kastking telescopic rods, got mine years ago off amazon. I have the 6' and the 7'6", it's just the rod, gotta put on your own reels, but they're a nice medium-heavy, and collapse small enough to easily fit in a backpack. I Always carry both, a small plastic tackle bin with various lures, hooks, weights, bobbers, etc.. still have plenty of room for other stuff, fillet knife, drinks, snacks, etc.. For me, it's the ultimate portable fishing combo, as they expand to a full sized rod, and they collapse down to just 17" (1'5") which easily fits in any backpacks I own. I have "yet" to snap one too, and I've hooked some decent sized fish!

Everything aside you will grow quick can feel the energy when you fish and how much you love it fished my favorite farm pond saturday evening with my niece got about a 16in largie her biggest fish and biggest bass ive seen come out of this usual crappie/big gill pond with usual 10-12in bass at most was so pumped i scared my neice with my triumphant yell when she pulled the fish out and dragged it on bank she just turned 5 . Some reason your vids get me pumped to be a fisherman and get the next generation started

Somebody probably already covered it but that frog that you were fishing with is the boom boom frog from what I saw as far as the specs on it they have a third eye to kind of make it look like a dying bait fish to attract the fish’s attention so that’s why it gets such a strong hook up ratio Plus it’s some thing that’s never really been seen on any other frog I like it

Bass have very little little teeth. That velcro will get stuck in their teeth leaving the frog in their mouth longer for you to set the hook, Making it harder for the frog to spit it out. I never knew they made a frog like that. That's just what I put together at this very moment and I bet you I'm right because I am very good at figuring things out.

There's a lot of telescoping rods on Amazon bro. Really good, different sizes, pull out to like a full length rod. You can get ones that are 6' - 7' + that collapse down to around 2'.

Meanwhile up here in Canada i send out with the light rod 4lb line after brown trout, ya know leave the baitcasters and spinnerbaits in the truck right, not targeting smallmouth at all, end up hooking into 4lb smallie....no trout but ya know a new pb after a half hour fight woth a reel screaming for mercy lol
I've caught giant smallies on erie many times on very light line. Never had anything close to a half hour fight. They burn themselves out way quicker than that
@@adamsmith8533 lose drag, and try river smallies they spend a lot more time swimming against the current building up there endurance. I find they fight harder and longer. Also with the amount of rock and structure in that area i had to really take my time to make sure she didn't get wrapped up in anything. Just a combination of factors all working in tandem drew the fight out significantly, had i been using heavier tackle she would've come in a lot faster

I was out of town a few weeks ago and didn't have my fishing gear with me, so I bought the cheapest rod and reel at Walmart . It was a Zebco slingshot for $9.99. I caught my biggest bass on it . A 7 pounder , stripped a lot of my line and was lucky and happy to land it
You should try a telescoping rod and reel combo that might be more of what your looking for in a travel rod
