Shame? Hardly. This is variety. In Shetland, for example (and i'm sure elsewhere), the 'same' tune differs from island to island, even from village to village, as does the dialect. But there's nothing new in this.
@@alastairedwards9388 it's not variety it's the product of untrained, unqualified personnel who don't know what are doing. When they don't know or understand particular figures or footwork they stick something else in.

These dances are similar to the way I used to do it when I started dancing in 1946 when I just left school,in the local country hall.
