Can u try Scrapping Metro and only shop at Nofrills for groceries for a month to see if tht makes a difference in groceries. Would love to see tht change 😊
I have very similar food related spending goals to you. It's nice watching a Canadian channel and not having to do any mental currency conversions to compare.
I like the videos that you guys made, the layout is always clear (I like black and white), and the content is always informative and fun. Thank you for making those high-quality videos:)
Ive found it helpful when planning variable monthly income to make an average of the last 3 month's income, and use that amount to create a monthly spending plan with.
food was always my pain point too. until I accepted reality that I enjoy food and just boost that category and cut off from other less important fun categories for me.
Best thing you can do is make it a conversation where you both put out what you're comfortable with and come to an agreement. 50/50 split is common, a buddy of mine and her husband go by percentage of their individual incomes, and my partner and I pool all our money into one account and pay bills from there. Find what works for both of you and make sure you revisit the conversation to make sure it's still what you're both comfortable with
Ugh I've been thinking about resubscribing to Crave to watch House of the Dragon but I can't make up my mind! What are your thoughts on the show so far? Has it been worth it?
We like it so far! Definitely still undecided on how great it is, but we’ll be watching for sure. 😊 (I’ve seen a few comments about finding it for free online, though!)
Have you considered cutting your own hair? I have long hair like you and I just separate it in two on each side and chop off an inch every six months. It saves a toooon of money and really doesn’t make a big difference when you have long hair already.
I’m surprised you guys haven’t relocated yet considering you can now work from anywhere. Do you plan to move from Toronto once your lease is over or do you plan on staying in the city long term?
I love this video! Honestly I just really enjoy watching budgeting videos because it keeps me motivated to work on cutting down my own costs. And yours is so detailed and thorough!
Thanks, Steve! We're luckily able to pretty much everywhere we go - sometimes we take the street car in Toronto, but only have to reload our passes every few months or so
@@stephandden is street cars free in Toronto? Lol I recommend you also communauto in case you don’t know (car sharing, very useful if you need a car from time to time)
Thanks for the video 🙏🏾 My budget for the month is 2k, with a big goal of shoveling away 1k a month. Tbh I’m not sure how I want to divide that 1k from my savings…definitely want to invest it but I’m like a baby investor right now! So lots to learn, especially about cash back rewards & things like that. 😊 I guess my monthly budget is pretty similar to yours so this video was very helpful. 🤍
Thanks for watching! That’s amazing that you plan on keeping 50% 👏🏿👏🏻 we have a video about investing for the first time (it’s called ‘How To Invest Your First $1,000’) - hopefully that’s helpful, too 😊
Do you have any budget or spending goals right now? Let us know! 👀

That's a great point - there are a lot more American spending videos out there! Thanks for watching 😊

Love monthly budget videos!! Keep them coming 😊
Thanks, Kim! More to come 😊

That's a great way to do it, especially if you're able to cut from other categories 👏🏿👏🏻
Thanks for sharing! Here sitting at the desk and you reminded me to update my monthly budget. Love your content😀🤓
🙌🏿🙌🏻 love it! Thanks so much!
Could you make a video on how you come together with your boyfriend and decide who pays what?
We can definitely talk about it more in future vids! Recurring expenses we split 50/50 though 😊

House of the dragon is Fire! Yess. Pun intended. P.s i just watch it for free online. Good ad blocker and you're good to go
Ha, love the pun! 😂
Biggest goal right now is to keep our groceries budget at $700 a month, including dining out. Grocery inflation is relentless right now
👏🏿👏🏻 that’s a good one! It really is

How are your utilities $35? Do tell....:)
That’s my half of it - since Den and I split in half 😊

We plan to stay in the city for a while longer! We love living here still 😊
Cutting down on restaurants is such a struggle when you meal prep then get the ick for it the next day🙃
This literally made us lol 🤧 so true!

Thank you! So glad you liked it 😊
love the quality of the videos! what camera do u use
More of a saving than a spending goal. Need a new phone. Currently with a OnePlus6 from 2018. She's an old gal and on her last legs.
Ha, it sounds like an upgrades coming soon! It’s great that you’re planning ahead 😊
how do you plan to invest when you max out your TFSA contribution limit?
Hey Tyler! Good question - we can talk about this more in a future vid, but I’ll likely use my RRSP 😊
You should consider getting amex cobalt considering you spend a significant portion on food and dine in.
Thanks for the suggestion!
Hi Steph!
Do you have a template of your budgeting system?
Hi! 😊 yes, we have the template on our website (stephandden.com) under ‘Resources’ for free!
i lovee monthly budgets thanks for being so transparent about yours!
Of course! Thanks for watching 🥳
Would you consider doing 1:1 budget coaching?
Hey Doris! We don’t have plans to do that at the moment 😊
The nonstop hand movement is a bit distracting
I do a lot of hand talking! I try and keep ‘em down whenever I can remember 😊
Do u have a template of the budgeting sheet we can use?
We do, it’s on our website for free 😊
Can I get a copy of your spread sheet?
Yes! It’s on our website 😊
Thank you. I needed this!
Thanks for watching! 😊
The nicest couple !! Tell me I miss it. Why don't you almost ever have transportation charges ?
