Actually, Notre Dame was favored by-1.5 on a lot of sites. Georgia has a reputation for being an elite program in the modern era but they were the second best team on the field tonight. ND has closed the gap in terms of physicality and they’re getting better athletes as well. The Irish have an SEC caliber roster this season with a lot of depth forced into action. Notre Dame is missing a bunch of their best players on defense too…
This definitely wasn’t a stomping I picked Notre dame to win. This was actually a pretty good game. Probably should’ve been much closer. 10 yard line fumble. Georgia was knocking on the door twice and came away with zero points but if they score on those that’s 14 point swing. Just saying they were 20 yards away from 14 points this wasn’t a blowout not 13 points.
Congratulation Notre Dame! For the fellow that corrected me when I picked Georgia I was wrong and Notre Dame exhibited a great coaching staff starting with the head coach. Irrespective of his age and race he is just an absolutely great coach which is a profession much harder than it appears. As Coach Bryant (from my era) would say: He's a winner!
Georgia couldn't get off the field and Notre Dame had energy like it was the first quarter. We got a Tour de France PED thing for sure. I'm calling it now
worst call for Kirby: 2nd quarter, UGA has the ball 4th and 3 on their own 45. That's a clear 'go for it' situation. But UGA punted without even thinking about it. That's not playing to win.
@@derricksilvers9577 There were a handful of spots where Kirby's decisions were strange. Punting should be considered very carefully. If 4th and short near mid field, the offense should go for it.
Based on how Georgia played in this game, I think Alabama's case for being inserted into the semifinals game instead of Penn State is very solid. Almost unassailable really. I think the ESPN computer would agree with me.

They were not the same team as 2023 to be sure, but to claim some kind of dominance by ND is ridiculous. UGA had a backup QB in first college start, and ND gloating on here. Get real.
ND fans can't deal with the fact that they beat a much weaker-version UGA team. Beck is the 8th ranked qb in the country and it would have gone very differently with a healthy Beck. If UGA had the option of playing a weaker schedule, they should do so--but in the SEC this would be hard to arrange, and schedules are in place years in advance.
ND has beaten 6 ranked teams btw. But regardless ND can’t control that Florida State and USC are historically bad this season, they were good when these schedules were made, teams like Army actually ended up undefeated and ranked when ND played them which is unusual. Hypothetically, could Serena and Venus Williams in their primes(as adults)have success playing high school football with the boys? Did they have the athleticism for it? Why or why not?
The answer is no. The top high school footballers are already bigger faster and stronger than the Williams sisters. The guys playing receiver run sub 12 second 100 metres and due to their height they could only play receiver running back or defensive back. It’s not an equal fight
lol - no what position would they play? Serena is 5'9" 155 and her sister is 6' 160. Outside of kicker, they are too slow, too small for any position and I doubt they could take a hit.
Indiana fans using the score of their game compared to this one to justify being in the playoff is so funny to me. To Indiana fans, that it was 27-3 with less than 2 minutes left when ND finally let off the gas. You scored two TDs in garbage time to make the score look better for your coach. With that being said, you absolutely deserved to be in. You can’t retroactively use the result of a playoff game as justification for why a team does or doesn’t deserve to be in. Indiana was an 11-1 B1G team. Was their schedule weak? Yes. But they won convincingly, and their only loss was on the road to a very good Ohio State team. They also were helped by late upset losses to other teams that may have been ahead of them (Alabama and Ole Miss). There shouldn’t be any doubt whether Indiana deserved to make the playoffs. However, the reasoning is not because they “only lost by 10 to ND”
