Today is the first day I’ve thrown for a while and I kept hearing your voice saying concrete on my hands and not on the clay. That worked better than anything I’ve ever tried! The results were amazing. I can’t say thank you enough!
Thank you Sally. Your video on throwing large was awesome and very informative. And your ocean views are to die for. I'm Green with envy. Thanks: Norren
Thanks Sally for that excellent tip. I’ll concentrate on my hands not the clay when I lift the clay. I must do that next time I’m on the wheel. Great video 👍
Thank you so much Sally, that was really well explained, I’m a thrower but find it hard to express what’s in my head 😆 Saturday I’m doing a demonstration in throwing with my new portable wheel where I sell all my pieces, so you’re words hopefully will stay in my head!
I make a lot of mistakes (calling glaze clay towards the very end) but everyone should get the drift. Just tell your viewers what you are doing and you will be fine
@@SallyRoperPottery thanks I'll give it a go....getting better at my throwing just getting ready for a couple of Christmas markets,I have a question for you regarding selling pieces. My kiln overtired the other day and some pieces are salvageable wondering if they're safe to sell. I made some Apple bakers and just want to be sure it's safe to sell them. To me they'd be vitrified would they not.
Happy Thanksgiving, Sally!! I think your tip to concentrate on your hands, not the clay is excellent advice! I'm new to throwing and so will keep this in mind during my next practice session! Thanks for sharing!! From New Mexico USA
Wonderful demo....Great advise, you are a great teacher. Take away from this is...."The clay is in the way of my fingers" Brilliant!!

I am a hand builder. I almost never envy wheel throwers, but this is beautiful!
Thanks Jackie. I don’t think I would every try to hand build this form but like everything else in pottery, it takes time and practice

Scared me the first time. My hands have good memory so the more I make, the easier it becomes.

It took me a long time to take my mind off the clay and concentrate on my hands. Since then, throwing larger pieces has become much easier.
Thank you for showing us your talent and skills. You always do great work. Merry Christmas and happy new year 😊
Thanks for sharing
Thank you, I am still new at pottery, I don't know yet how high I can pull. but my max amount of clay so far is 2 lbs. :D
Excellent demo Sally! Thank you for sharing! I might give this a try, it’s very pretty. I wonder if I can make it with porcelain without warping.❤
