Those dancers play the role of walking souls keeping somehow company to the living performer. It's a poetic way to say that the people we loved are always with us... watch it from this perspective end everything will be clearer... :)
Was just thinking of that when I watched it again the other day (it's a daily thing for me now!) And the begging really makes the dancers look like shadows or ghost with also could represent souls or memories of people. I can totally see that whole perspective, wasn't really able to express it in the video. But you can definitely feel it when you watch it. Thank you for your insight!
I cried when I watched this performance. I have loved this song since I first heard it in 2020. When I heard the audience sing with him last night, my heart swelled because he sang all alone in the Arena di Verona in 2020. A truly incredible performance, and Diodato sounded amazing. I love the choreography, the lighting, everything. It meant so much to me and I’m sure to Diodato to perform on the Eurovision stage, as it is the stage he deserves. Loved your commentary too! 💜

It would have been even better if they could have made him sing for the final so that even more people would have see him. The semi finals are not as watched as the final. Still i think this is the most beautiful performance i've seen on Eurovision.

Thank you David. Yes, multicam directors made such mistakes. Probably they were not used to have all those 25 cameras and working with an Ukrainian team, for the special cameras. Italian, english, etc. But the hosts were amazing and funny. The porca vacca moment of Laura Pausini was so funny. Her's and Mika's interval acts. Diodato's act. It was plenty of humanity and our soul. Of course, we are not organizes and precise like Dutch and Swedish, but I am proud of what RAI has created. The lighting. The stage, despite the slow sun. It'a sad there is people still criticizing but they would criticize even if the show was perfect. Thank you.

They both were competing in Sanremo 2020 and this is the video of her song. Obviously, fans think he wrote "Fai Rumore" for her and she actually wrote a song for him called "Antonio" (which is his name) ua-cam.com/video/xM35pAC8VUE/v-deo.html I wonder if this was the staging he wanted to do in 2020 if Eurovision wasn't canceled.
There is a striking similarity between the two for sure! I think a lot of time we get inspired and create out of the subconsciously. I think I have to do some more research on the lyrics and meaning behind his song. I think it is possible that what we saw was an elevated version of his desired staging.
