Pay attention to your fears! Clearly they have a lot of plans to put T-8 ships in campaigns, I’m surprised they don’t try and hide it, because that is the quickest way to fill the new tier. They don’t see that this is a horrible idea, there is 0 skill required to reach the highest tiers of the game. As you said, one only needs to sit and wait to be in Legendary. Currently, a day one new player can jump straight into a T-7 match if they immediately buy out the campaign. Nothing will stop those same player types from buying the T-8 campaign ships.
Holy content explosion! I’m simply blown away by all of the wowsl channels today. I don’t know why but I’m really only curious about maybe the roon and donskoy. The rest of the boats don’t spark my interest, but maybe that’s because I’m a bigger fan of French, Italian, and European boats. So I guess I’ll be waiting for 2023 to that next wave of excitement.

You haven’t missed one, and I think that explains why.. 🧐 I did choose it from the campaign (yes, WG does give it to me, but in principle).. personally, I think it is a solid “meh”. The radar (IMO, obviously) is too short range and doesn’t last long enough for everything you give up. As is, it seems very easy to outplay in anything but an IJN torp boat.
Exciting ! Hopefully a few more lines added by time im back playing in September. Does this mean you need 200k Elite XP on a ship to be ready for the T8 ?
Volunteer to get doo doo on by a noob in a dd with 15 torps that do 20k+ dmg each or a reversing Yamato with 20km+ range. All for the price of 35 million credits. While Legendary could be earned just by logging in every day.

One of the cc’s mentioned that t8 would get an additional mod slot? I believe it was Tommyboy? It’s 5.6 mil for the initial upgrades on t7 so I’m guessing the additional one (assuming that’s correct) will be another 3 mil on top? Just a guess there.
I'm actually very sad that T7 will be stuck technically double bottom tier for 5 more weeks post patch. Let LT matchmaking be a dumpster fire for 5 weeks instead. Sounds much better to me since all the potatoes seem to live there anyway

Glad for tier 8 just wish they did it like 2 years ago. I have every legendary tier ship released so far and I feel like I have no incentive to grind for the tech tree ship that comes before each legendary I have
I only have the Baltimore(but I just got Des Moines) and Mogami past 300k with the Fletcher and Kagero around 250k so I can push those past 300k especially with the mission(Road to Tier 8) I just don't know if I want to yet... Not a big USA destroyer fan and an IJN torp boat is meh as well so I might just get the Tier 8 Ibuki and wait to see which ship is worth matriculating down the field...
This whole thing is good for the game but meh to me personally. I like my tier 7 ships. I have all the LT ships. I don’t have a real desire to grind a ship that fits between them. I actually don’t have all the TT likes ground out because they made doing so kind of pointless with several campaigns-why should I grind Richelieu when I can get JB out of a campaign? Why grind Bismarck when I can get Tirpitz for free xp? Etc. Anyway, I’m glad this is happening. I’m glad they’re fixing the mistake with the Weimar. I also don’t really care.
@@metajerk I honestly am not in a rush to get to t7, I started the Soviet destroyer line and cruiser line to t6, I mostly was playing Shchors as the Budyonny before her was extremely enjoyable, I'm now abroad so I haven't been able to play since April and can't until February next year so I am looking forward to how the game will look likem

I think the tier 8s are just coming here to separate the 7s from the legendaries, Nobody likes playing against legendary potatoes and doing so in a slightly better boat won't change that in my opinion. Personally i think i'll just get Sumner and z46 and wait for the French ones to arrive seing as that the cruisers and bbs will get shat on by the legendaries. As for legendary carriers ? I dont mind so as long as they arent Soviet . I enjoy carrier games no matter the ship im in and i have gotten comfy with the playstyle of being able to push and flank without the fear of an unspotted dd foiling my plans. All in all the only thing im excited about is the fact that Zeppelin is coming and my Baltimore will no longer be gathering dust in drydock
The Ruskie lines though the easiest to play are also my most hated ones , and that's coming from the guy with a Wichita as his most played ship (First tier 7 I got don't bully me :)

Aah, that’s funny, I remember your name looking familiar.. I took that ship out as I’d just finished grinding the kagero for T8 and needed to decompress 🤯 But to answer your question, with completing kagero, I am officially ready for all T8👍

T8 is going to suck for more than 1 year! Des Moines etc... Worcester... fun... I'm glad of only 1 thing. my T7 campaign ships are making 40% more money now and worthwhile playing.
I've ground around 120m silver so I'm looking forward to the Roon and the Ruski. Will then add whatever french cruiser comes along. Definitely the best thing will be eventual isolation from the bin fire that is recent LT gameplay.
It just seems odd that you’ve got a tier that will be the longest term players grinding out, then the tier above you have more powerful ships that people just wait to get..
@@metajerk True, but when you're fixing a problem those kinds of ideals tend to be out of reach. i still think the smart way to fix the issue is to have teams compiled from a more stats based analysis of each player's abilities.
@@angusmackay7281 funny you should mention that, there was some talk about statistics and average players etc etc on the CC discord yesterday and I said “there is only one way to make your teammates better, and that is for you to ‘Get Bad’”. The better one gets, the worse everyone else appears.. some day we’ll have training rooms and people can do custom matches, but for now, it is what it is, and I don’t see that ever changing.
@@metajerk Why so they can further disappoint me with garbage campaign ships and more creative ways for them to separate me from my money? All whilst either refusing to or neglecting to fix some of the most basics of problems with the game. My problem is I love the game. Remember the good old days of like socom era servers? Where you could collectively vote to remove shit players from teams and games. It forced people to become good players or play with people that were on their suck level. We need better in game mechanisms for stuff like that. The training/team rooms idea is amazing. I just think we will get the iteration of what we expect.

I could be wrong. But my guess is more sliver will become available in the store to purchase. T8 premium ships will be available day 1, or shortly there after. If a T8 comes to the forge it will be for 50k steel, and after almost 2 years, I have 26k and have not used any. But whales will whale, Legendary is still top tier, and anyone can get a Legendary ship much easier, cheaper, and quicker than T8. So basically, nothing has changed except more grinding and more to buy in the store....
Tier 8 = End Game Content for long time players 🤣 Unless.... unless we see a big change to how folks earn legendary tier ships.. and beings as we have the research points thing in the UI that does nothing... well, a guy can dream!
It will be joyous when the devs say “unfortunately it is taking much longer than we expected to populate tier 8, so high tier games will remain +/-2 for the foreseeable future”

Yeah, that makes sense. I got it earlier this week and it just doesn’t play like Fletcher due to all the nerfs versus PC.

Yup. 100k to max out your T7, then 200k after that. The T8 ship will require 150k xp for all modules.

I still haven't got a tier 7 ship, I'm probably the closest withthenew Orleans despite never really 0laying it because of the path to t7 xp boost.
Honestly, by the time you grind out Baltimore, not having to face legendary tier ships in it will be a good send.. take your time!
