"Tera ghar bhi chandni se abaad ho. Tere ghar bhi beti ho." This line is very very deep. As a kid I believed that having a daughter was a curse. But as a grown up I understand why its said so. This dialogue showcases the rage of a mother who was insulted unnecessarily. Therefore she blessed the family with the hope they have a daughter soon, so they realize what it feels like to be at the recieving end of abuse.
But in today's world, women too can be very problematic. Take Meghan Markle for example. Or even Kangana Ranaut. They claim to crusade for women, but secretly are just after limelight. So for me, the most important dialogue from this scene is "Sikka sahi hai ya galat, uski pehchan aawaz se hoti hai". Absolute gem of a line. The deeper meaning is that you should never judge a book by its cover.

At the end Paro was a source of pride for mother, she's has kept her dignity and integrity in tact. wealth and status didn't keep Devdas from alcoholism and brothels. Anyways Paro was too valuable, too good for Devdas's cold hearted family
U r partially correct. Yes parvati's mother was able to keep her & paro's dignity.. Dev's parents were the main culprit.. But parvati failed to find happiness in her married life also. 1st, she was in true love with devdas, she got married to keep her family's pride but she alwz loved devdas. 2nd, Parvati's husband never loved her.. He was much elder than parvati even his son & daughter were same aged compared to parvati.. He told parvati on the 1st day that he cant forget his 1st wife(dead) so there will be no mental & physical relatiion.. Parvati was just married, nothng more than this.. Later she devoted herself to take care households, mandir & to serve poor needy people of the village.. 3rd, it is natural that she got tremendous pain when dev died at the door of parvati, just to see her for the last time.. Parvati was not allowed to see his dead body also.. Later his body was dumped into garbage, dogs & jackal ate his corpse.. Parvati heard everything.. It is expected that all these incidents haunted her for the rest of her life.. Which never gave her happiness.. Moral: wealth & honour failed to save Devdas, same manner wealth & dignity failed to give happiness to Parvati as well..
@@wowser2153 Yeah thats true..but I feel her way of givinng happiness to her daughter was different.
