Anyone familiar with Lazy Bear and Graveyard Keeper know what thay are getting into. After putting so many hours in Graveyard Keeper this is my new obsession. Game is AMAZING!!! Hard to put down.
For the map it shows the character buildings off to side to make it easier to see. If you click on the door of gramps house off to side it will then show you the corresponding spot on the map to where your character is! It took me a second to figure it out too!
@@MissBubbles i played on PC with controller but I imagine it’s the same mechanic! When you click on the houses that are off to the side you’ll see a little blue door open and then that same blue door will open on the actual map where your player is to show you where the location is! I definitely did some aimless running around though before I discovered that lol!
I had some of the same feelings you've expressed. I was so excited for this game - been counting down the days. It's so cute, and I enjoyed the beginning. But as I played more, I got frustrated. There were a lot of things I couldn't figure out how to do. I'm not a gamer. I've only recently started playing games other than Animal Crossing. I figured most of my trouble with the game was because of that. Just inexperience. I'm glad to know it wasn't just me. I do plan to play more. I have been going back and forth on whether I want to purchase this game. But I would definitely be stressed with the things you mentioned in the game. Thanks for sharing your thoughts 🥰
this is the downside of bandle tale. i spent an hour to just collect orbs since you really have to grind so much to collect them. one time, i built a machine indoors and went to make a component for another component. then i realized, it needed a certain aura and i was at the wrong island. and when you want an aura, you need to go some place to use it. but the sad thing is, you need to build the machine OUTDOORS. and alas! I already used the materials to build the machine INDOORS!!! i was so frustrated! and why the hell does it need a recharged string thingy to gather CLAY!!!!!
Thank you for this! I was super excited about it, too, but I guess I'll wait for it to go on sale now... I might still have got it if they'd done the first week sale thing we often see on Steam, but they don't, so I'll wait. And by then hopefully they'll have fixed the map issue and such. Thank you for this feedback!
The main issue is, when you market a game to be cozy and relaxing (cutesy, involved knitting) we aren’t going for a frustrating challenge and a “good luck” map mechanic. It seems like the design/marketing is wrong for the type of gamer they want to play this.
For me it took me awhile to learn and get used to the game. A little frustrating figuring out where to get the things you need and when to unlock skills but after looking up some answers I started to really enjoy it! I like the tediousness of it! The art and music really immerse me plus I love the storyline.

I bought it before watching this and I agree. The game is just too repetitive and I am getting stuck constantly. Very disappointing because I was enjoying it. Also I really found the parties you host to be so boring. Like walk around and press A. You don’t even do a fun animation when boosting the music or drinks. You just stand there and hold A

I definitely found this game confusing and frustrating when I was first learning it. I do hope they can update the map and bring back the little arrows that show you where to go. For example, when it wants you to go talk to someone, it would be cool if you could select the person and then a little arrow would guide you to them. I also needed some more little hints, such as the fact that I could craft a firefly trap, so I didn't necessarily have to revert back to a previous save if I failed a food stand. Thank you for this review. I've been watching several of them to get an idea about this game. I was super excited about it, and I honestly still want to play it, but I think I will pick it up on sale one day. I want to wait and see how much gameplay there is to the game before deciding to pick it up. The game can take you 30+ hours to complete so if you equate 1$ = 1hr gametime (as an example), you do get your money's worth. The question is, do you only want the hr = $ value; or the hr = fun time you are having

Ahhhh... this is the one you were talking about! I get it now :) I was looking forward to this one but approached it with a healthy amount of scepticism since it's tied to a much larger franchise that has literally nothing to do with the cosy game genres. I appreciate them trying to branch out and use the IP for newer titles, but I feel this idea would have benefitted more from not being tied to League of Legends. Informative video, as always :)
I liked that you can play it without any knowledge about LoL. However, many gameplay mechanics were so tedious that they ruined an experience that could have been so much better
@@MissBubbles I'm guessing the developers had to limit what they could and couldn't do with the game because they had the brand attached to them, but I can see what you mean by the mechanics being unnecessary. It looked like a way to pad the playtime out by adding extra steps that weren't needed, but that's just my guess.
Omg maps are already the bane of my life but that sounds frustrating with the map and the stamina thing. It does look suuuuuuper cute though, even with tonnes of skill trees and stuff, I find that even if intimidating at first, it makes me feel more accomplished when I do start getting through it. Sometimes this can put me off playing for a while if I know it’ll be a big time commitment, but at least it makes it worth the money, sometimes!!! Oh, and I ALWAYS refer to game guides when I get lost, so I can imagine there were some uncomfortable moments which is a shame - can really make or break an experience for you. Thank you for sharing all of this, super useful to note and means I can hold off for a bit before jumping in (to have UA-cam walkthroughs close to hand if needed, lol!)

@@BaverIy a game being cheap when it's not even fun enough won't encourage consumers to buy it.
I would recommend waiting for a sale if you feel the shortcomings I mentioned to be game breaking or immersion breaking for you. If you do try it, I would love to hear your thoughts!
@MissBubbles you got to be kidding, game is already cheap and provides a lot, don't be stingy.
@@BaverIy a game being cheap when it's not even fun enough won't encourage consumers to buy it. It's not about being stingy it's about choosing how much you'll pay based on how fun you think the game will be. A mostly tedious game like Bandle Tale should not be at 30£ ☺️
So based on what Phianixx said is making her worry, I recommend she waits
@@MissBubbles The standard edition is priced at £19.99, but with its incredible gameplay and breathtaking artwork, its value far exceeds that. Calling it tedious is a perspective I strongly disagree with.
Saying it has incredible gameplay is something I strongly disagree with. We have different opinions, expressing them respectfully is what my channel is about.@@BaverIy
I also had big expectations on this especially because I thought I would see the Yordles from League of Legends! Where are Teemo, Ziggs, Tristana, Lulu, and others!?!! They are featured on the Bandle Tale website, but didn't find in your gameplay, did I miss them? lol 🥲
The game looks veeeeery cute, but because of the map issue and the grinding, I think I would get this on sale... Thanks for the great and accurate review!
They are in the game, I refrain from showing far gameplay to avoid spoilers so you don't have to worry. Tristana is there very early on and she is in this footage as well!
@@MissBubbles Aaaaaaw, makes sense, thank you!! 🤩
