It's likely company policy to forbid site photography by employees. It isn't a huge jump for them, absent specific training, to assume the public can't photograph through an open fence or via drone. What would happen if you told them the air space above their building is owned by the CAA and you have a CAA-issued license to fly in that air space? I know, bring "bumper stickers" that say, "The Eye Cannot Trespass" to hand out.

"Send the drone..", seems to be many auditors "this'll get 'em" line. I'm subscribed to many auditors channels, but the 'drone-as-a-trigger', seems uneccessarily provocative - and could be used later, without prior announcement. THEN, get some permission/ show them what you done.
