Omg, I have so much to say about this song. Back in 2019 I almost lost the battle against myself, and that broke my husband. He was able to bring me back to life thankfully but when this song came out, it was really hard for him to listen to it. That experience helped me realize that I wouldn't be ending my pain, I would be passing it on to innocent people, and my pain is something I wouldn't wish upon my worst enemy. I related deeply to this song in its entirety but mostly with the third verse or scenario. I feel trapped in my thoughts when I'm not inebriated (when I haven't taken my medicines). It is fair to say that I'm fairly sedated most days of the week (I have to numb my mind with medication, otherwise I can't work properly), and most importantly, I might've made it if I lived on a different street (I would've been a different and happier person if I didn't grow up in the trauma I grew up in.) The very very last "or redecorate" gives me goosebumps. It feels like an ending, I don't know how to describe it but it feels and sounds different to me. I can't sing this song without crying and without thinking about everything that I've had to endure to stay alive. But I'm here today, alive. If I'm alive that means I still have a chance to learn and make choices that will lead me to get what I've been craving my whole life. Thank you for liking Scaled and Icy as much as i do😊
I am emotionally affected by this song every time I hear it because of the same reasons. I can’t help but sob every time it comes on but it’s a reminder of my strength and what I would be giving up if I were to lose the battle against myself. I am happy that you made it out and that you are here. You matter. 🖤
Speaking in an interview, Tyler said that Redecorate was inspired by a friend whose son had sadly passed away. He explained that they had told him that they didn't redecorate his bedroom, leaving everything exactly as he had left it. Tyler explained: "I remember thinking how crazy powerful a story that is, and how it makes me wonder, like, 'What will people do with my stuff?' It can actually bring you back down to earth, to make sure that you don't make any horrible decisions. I'm realising now how difficult it is to talk about, but this song is really important to me."
An absolutely heartbreaking story that lead to a soul stealer of a final song. Genuinely my absolute favourite album closer of theirs for how powerful it is, from the story it was inspired by to the message and offering up that thought of what you'd want to happen when you're gone. When SAI is such a carefree vibe of an album and it rips it all away right at the end, puts you head first into a song full of dread with No Chances then absolutely destroys me personally with Redecorate. Insane way to end off the album, especially compared to their up to this point slower and more melancholic closers.
I joined a widows group when I lost my guy to cancer. One of the biggest things I see talked about is what to do with everything. Some leave it as is for years. It took me awhile to finally make changes. My guy knew his was terminal so he did go through most of his things before he went and that did make it easier for me
As the parents of an adult child who changed their name, just not in the traditional way, we decided to not redecorate. We have many family pictures on our walls and this child is in many. It causes some confusion for the littles of the next generation, but this way the questions and answers are discussed at whatever level they are at from the beginning, and they know we are all still a family.
You're timing of uploads to finish the albums right before Clancy 👏 This song has been in my top 5 tøp songs on Spotify wrapped since it released, just love it
I was most excited for you to do this song. Hits so hard, especially at the end of this album. I went to the listening party for Clancy and all I’ll say is you’re in for a treat, can’t wait to see what you think!
watching my family packing away my grandfathers things after he passed last year made this song hit me a lot harder! tyler perfomed the final verse of this as part of lane boy for the livestream and on tour, sounded so sick.
No worries, Tyler is still alive, this album came out in 2021 and there was a live last year for vessels 10th anniversary, and this year for Clancy. This is one of the lore songs, so he doesn’t want to go back to dema.
Been waiting for this one. Definitely my favourite song from the album, and I'm glad it took you in like that. Great reaction! I'll be there for the entirety of Clancy no matter how it's formatted
"I repeat, scaled back and isolated..." this song was written during the pandemic when we were all isolated. Hence the album name: Scaled and Icy. Banger of an album, glad you like it.
And the fact that the pandemic impacted so many people's (and teen's) mental health negatively, the lens of su!cide brings a whole other level of tragic to these lyrics.
I just finished watching all your videos on Clancy and loved your reactions and personality, I HAD to find your reaction to redecorate. Redecorate is my favorite song TOP has ever released, I’ve seen other comments explaining what it means so I won’t get into it, but it just speaks to me no other song ever has. I’ve never been in the position where im contemplating unaliving myself, but I’ve been on the other end, where I’ve talked a few people down from the ledge before. This song has helped put into words how I feel and also shown me what the other person might be thinking and feeling, it’s just so beautiful. It’s just so unfortunate that it comes at the end of scaled and icy. A lot of people won’t give this song a fair chance because of the albums mixed reviews. I’m glad you enjoyed this song, it’s a big one.
DJ!!! Great reaction! Great song. Watching you put me back emotionally where i was when i first heard Redecorate. I cried. That's how you know a good reactor - thank you. I don't know if you picked up the lyric "Scaled back and isolated"... the origin of Scaled and Icy. Pandemic. It's a beautiful and powerful song, and it hits hard. You aren't caught up judt yet. You need to do "Level of Concern". The put this out early April 2020 as a single. Right at the start of Pandemic. Technically, it's part of Scaled and Icy since they put it on the SAI Livestream album. And one day we need you to watch the SAI Livestream on your own Livestream. The files are on google files, not on UA-cam. And, you probably already saw the new release "The Craving (the Single Version). If not, get on it 😊 I'm in the camp "1 reaction for each song". AND on the album "The Craving (Jenna's Version), needs a reaction, since it's apparently different enough from the single version. The countdown has started. Live streem pj party tonight 11:45 EST!!! I'm so hyped! Side note: UA-cam wouldn't let me comment on the last two, it's done thst sometimes in the past, on your channel and on others. It's probably my phone, or something we can't control. But that's why i don't connect on all songs.
I love this song so much for its beautiful message and chill vibe! Also, when he raps “scaled back and isolated” (referring to the album name), I get frickin chills! I don’t know why😂!
5:59 Thats what I love about this album! Everything leading up to the last three tracks is the "saturation leaving slowly" from Good Day. Its mind blowing how intelligent Tyler is! Bounce man (to me) is about somebody wanting to finally leave DEMA and then the bishops find out and thats when we really see the true, dark colors of them in No Chances and truly how Tyler feels in redecorate. I didnt like SAI at first, but man, has it grown on me! Im glad you got to enjoy it! Especially right before Clancy🔥🔥
Sorry for not warning you 😅. But glad to see you like it. Yeah, this song is really special to me, and it really hits hard, which is one of the few reasons I can't listen to it a lot. I'm also really happy that you enjoyed this album so much!! My top 5 are 1. Redecorate 2. Mulberry Street 3. The Outside 4. No Chances 5. Formidable For Clancy, I think you should break the songs up and do one by one since apparently they will all have a music video
Not sure if anyone told you ( I don’t tend to read the comments), but during Covid, they released concert tickets for a concert you could stream online since nobody could attend a live concert. It had live dancers, back up singers, all that. It was pretty awesome. I can’t remember if it was the entire album or not, but if you can find it, check it out. You’ll love it.
This song always gets me because I'm constantly fighting with those neon gravestones, (don't want to say the word because of UA-cam) but this song always hits real hard
SAI was the hardest album for them to make.. I imagine that. It can be fun but it's how they've made it through it and and released all this anyways to just have it not received well. Might be how it reflects how the world was then and how we all are still struggling to just "act" happy even when we know we are hurting. T0P best album IMO. I fell so hard before for these guys but when this was out... I was losing my mind and it was hard. Still is.. thanks for a good reaction to it.
Redecorate is such a special hard hitting song, the best on the album in my opinion. regarding Clancy- I agree that breaking up the songs is better and gives the proper attention to each one.
I like the album as a whole, but this song is easily my favourite on it. I think if I ever need to be the one making the decisions it would destroy me.
React to each song with the video, individually. I’m so excited to hear it! Twenty One Pilots livestream tonight! 11:45 introducing the new album and videos live on their UA-cam channel!
Just in case you didnt know, but since you have a million clikkies in your comments this isnt very likely, but anyway: Scaled and Icy = scaled back and isolated Scaled and Icy = clancy is dead (anagram) Scaled and Icy = SAI (the name of the fork looking thing that was that era's logo) Tyler has said in interviews that he always knew their would be an album about isolation in this storyline, and its just a coincidence that it came out during Covid
In Lore terms, after the brightness and fun of the previous tracks which are Dema Propaganda to make Dema seem like a happy place to be, the tone shift for No Chances (the Bishops song) and Redecorate (the Dema citizens song) is deliberate and a clear sign we are back facing the true realities of Dema at the end of the album.
I think you needed more things to throw for this one! 🤣🤣 Still can’t hear this one without tears…. So beautiful, so real, so relatable, so thought provoking
When this album first came out, i was confused by the happy tones because of Trench, but this song made the album a masterpiece for me. The album, to me, is representative of faking happiness until you can't anymore. It's beautiful, and regardless of how people feel about the songs themselves, the story is just beautiful.
I think you should do one full video , adding bookmarks in there basically makes it an album of videos so you can skip to whichever song. Also these album’s are best listened to consecutively to best feel the album.
Whenever you have the time, watch a concert version of Redecorate. The way he builds up the song, using a pot and a pan to create the sounds... Plus, ending it with singing: Everything will be alright, and We made it this far is so emotional
Here's your forever warning. The last song is always the most meaningful, heavy song. Redecorate is such a beautiful song.
Scaled and Icy…. Scaled back and Isolated. Makes a lot of sense for an album released in 2021.
Omg, I have so much to say about this song.
Back in 2019 I almost lost the battle against myself, and that broke my husband. He was able to bring me back to life thankfully but when this song came out, it was really hard for him to listen to it. Thank you for sharing your story. Wow. This song is always a hard listen for me for similar reasons. Sending love and light.

This song makes me cry ... every time. 😞
Yeah this one hits HARD.
Just in time for Clancy tomorrow‼️‼️🥳🥳🥳🥳💃🏽
I joined a widows group when I lost my guy to cancer. One of the biggest things I see talked about is what to do with everything. Some leave it as is for years. It took me awhile to finally make changes. My guy knew his was terminal so he did go through most of his things before he went and that did make it easier for me
This song was such a nice surprise. I think it is my second favorite TOP song
As the parents of an adult child who changed their name, just not in the traditional way, we decided to not redecorate. We have many family pictures on our walls and this child is in many. GET IN! Can’t wait for the clancy reaction
Redecorate is one of my favorite songs
Honestly, this is one of my favorites by them.
I was most excited for you to do this song. Hits so hard, especially at the end of this album.

This is the most spot on you’ve been with the meaning 😂🔥

This song is so heavy! I love it, but it's the only song on this album that makes me cry every time.
Been waiting for this one. Definitely my favourite song from the album, and I'm glad it took you in like that. Great reaction!
I'll be there for the entirety of Clancy no matter how it's formatted

All time top 10 song from their catalogue for me.
This song ALWAYS hit me hard ❤
These are the things I'm thinking about at the moment. Love this song.
I love this song so much for its beautiful message and chill vibe! Also, when he raps “scaled back and isolated” (referring to the album name), I get frickin chills! I don’t know why😂!

Glad you included Bounce Man... I loooove that song!!
i love the single reactions!
Sorry for not warning you 😅. But glad to see you like it. Yeah, this song is really special to me, and it really hits hard, which is one of the few reasons I can't listen to it a lot.
I'm also really happy that you enjoyed this album so much!!
My top 5 are
1. Redecorate
2. Mulberry Street
3. The Outside
4. No Chances
5. Formidable
For Clancy, I think you should break the songs up and do one by one since apparently they will all have a music video
i love the album reactions for each song in it's own video!

Tyler always said that the last two songs would pave the way for the next album (Clancy)
Favorite song on the album.
Great top five!
Oh, and please do them one by one. That gives each song the full attention it deserves.
you’re spot on with your interpretation bro
SAI was the hardest album for them to make.. I imagine that. It can be fun but it's how they've made it through it and and released all this anyways to just have it not received well. Redecorate is such a special hard hitting song, the best on the album in my opinion. regarding Clancy- I agree that breaking up the songs is better and gives the proper attention to each one.
I would prefer a song a day or so, much easier for me to digest, and can enjoy it for longer rather than binging it 😂
yesss my fav from the album
this is like top 5 twenty one pilots in my opinion
you need to react to twenty one pilots live
im waiting now for your reaction to Clancy albumm
I like the album as a whole, but this song is easily my favourite on it. I think if I ever need to be the one making the decisions it would destroy me.
React to each song with the video, individually. I’m so excited to hear it!
Twenty One Pilots livestream tonight! 11:45 introducing the new album and videos live on their UA-cam channel!
I’d prefer to see you sit down and listen through the album in one video! I’d love to see your uncut true and honest reaction to the whole thing.
One by one my man
Let’s gooo new vid
Three vids this morning! I might be late for work again!
Danke!
Break up the songs individually imo. I like that format more than the all-in-one approach.
Are you watching the livestream with the pilots tonight?
one by one
twenty one by twenty one
You could do both of them
Song by Song please, and
I cry every time I listen to Redecorate
I don’t think you could survive the whole album in one go…especially now I’ve heard it & once we see the mvs….that gonna be a lot. I vote break it uo
plss do song by song reactions!
Do each song 1 by 1. Besides, you'll already have the first 4 songs done anyway.
Just in case you didnt know, but since you have a million clikkies in your comments this isnt very likely, but anyway:
Scaled and Icy = scaled back and isolated
Scaled and Icy = clancy is dead (anagram)
Scaled and Icy = SAI (the name of the fork looking thing that was that era's logo)
Tyler has said in interviews that he always knew their would be an album about isolation in this storyline, and its just a coincidence that it came out during Covid
Breakup the songs one by one would be nice for Clancy
I tried warning you
song by song better
What happened to The Outside reaction?
I tried 6 times and it got blocked. I’m still trying lol
@DRichOfficial damn that's too bad, good to know at least you really liked it lol as expected
Break up the Clancy vids
Break all songs up 1 by 1!!
That's a solid top 5. Good album for sure!
You did great and got it just in time to celebrate. You got a new track yesterday!
Individual videos for clancy i think would be better i like to see your full reaction and how you dive into each song whatever works for you tho 🙏🙏
If you've faced your own mortality, this one's hard-hitting. |-/
Please break the song one by one for Clancy
I think you needed more things to throw for this one! 🤣🤣
Still can’t hear this one without tears…. So beautiful, so real, so relatable, so thought provoking
One video at a time please!
Great reaction!! definitely hits hard, i'm glad you like it
This one hits home for a lot of Banditos. 💔🌻
This kind of songs is what makes Banditos try to live for another day. Thank you for reacting to this album and feeling every music. ❤🌼
My TøP 5
- Saturday
- Shy Away
- Redecorate
- Never Take It
- Choker
When this album first came out, i was confused by the happy tones because of Trench, but this song made the album a masterpiece for me. The album, to me, is representative of faking happiness until you can't anymore. It's beautiful, and regardless of how people feel about the songs themselves, the story is just beautiful.
I think you should do one full video , adding bookmarks in there basically makes it an album of videos so you can skip to whichever song. Also these album’s are best listened to consecutively to best feel the album.
this song never fails to give me goosebumps
"I repeat Scaled back And Isolated"
Scaled and Icy
Wonderful reaction ❤
Not a by any means, but still holds a place in my heart
favorite track off of sai🔥🔥🔥
and yes you picked up on what it is about as usual
break all songs
1 at a time please 🙏
Whenever you have the time, watch a concert version of Redecorate. The way he builds up the song, using a pot and a pan to create the sounds... Plus, ending it with singing: Everything will be alright, and We made it this far is so emotional
Yes omg I can't remember if it was the Takeover tour or the Icy tour he did that but holllly sheeettt it's beautiful what he did.
