    Hey Janete!!
I have been reading the truly beautiful poem you left on the “So Now by Charles Bukowski” video and every comment you have written ever since. You write in such an alluring manner, I have never been touched by someone’s use of language in the way in which you have touched me today. I am by no means someone who has appreciated language prior to the last hour, but you have given me a new appreciation for language and inspired me to be conscious of every word I utter, as language is a true vehicle for expressing who we are and what we stand for. I just wanted to give you a genuine thank you, you unknowingly inspired a random Somali Kid in London. Ps I am attempting to write more eloquently so if there are any mistakes in this message, please forgive me hahahahah.
Also what inspired your love for language? What are some books /poems or simple techniques you’d recommend?
Also beautiful voice and Bob Dylan? Great frickin taste in music!! Oops I went back to writing like Old me😂😂

      Hello Sanatra!
My goodness. It's the greatest honor to have inspired you in such a way. Comments such as yours actually leave me a bit speechless, I don't know how to respond, but I'm just so, so grateful. It's overwhelming to have impacted someone so deeply. Thank you so much! And you write absolutely beautifully as well.
Language is a wonderful vehicle for the expression of feelings. I guess I'm quite an emotional person so my feelings prompt me to write. I get inspired by my emotional response to either art, nature, humans, relationships, the world or something I've personally experienced and that plants an idea, a line or two in my head. If the idea is good, I'll try to develop it. And since I'm sensitive to the sounds of words, I'll try to choose the ones which describe my experience most vividly. Every sound or combination of sounds holds a certain feeling, I believe, like in poetry and rhymes.
I'm afraid I'm the worst person to ask for techniques on writing, however. I've never studied it and probably a lot of things that I've written have technical faults, but... I don't know. To me, the most important thing is that it comes from the heart. That's the only advice I could give you. When it comes from the heart, it could never be wrong because it's sincere, and sincerity doesn't need to be fitted in some type of box or formula, I believe.
If you find anything that inspires you, just go ahead and write with an ear to your heart. It makes you find all the right words.
You asked about my favorite books and poems, and I can't name any specific ones, but I do own collections by Emily Dickinson and Henry Wadsworth Longfellow. I enjoy their work because it reminds me of my own style.
Also poets of music, like Bob Dylan, Joni Mitchell, or Simon & Garfunkel. Absolutely worth listening to. But I don't think I need to tell you because you've already got a great taste in music as well, haha 😊
Once again, so honored. Thank you, beautiful soul, and have a nice evening/morning/day/night. Sending you lots of love. 💜
