I just played with this machine for two days last week and was incredibly impressed! I have never seen such beautiful stitch quality. I used 12 thicknesses of a light sweatshirt fleece and it made perfect stitches compared to everything else in the store that I tried. Every other machine I tried; baby lock, brother, and lower quality Janome’s (I tried the 9450), hesitated or made tiny stitches or were completely lost in the knit fabric. The power that this machine has is beyond belief, and it’s incredibly fast. Having something that stitches so perfectly straight and with this much power...i wasn’t going to purchase because the buttonholes did not look good on knit fabric (looked fantastic on woven). But I did and am using a liquid stabilizer for buttonholes on knit and it’s working beautifully.

Thank you for mentioning the liquid stabilizer for buttonholes on knits.

Excellent teaching ability! KUDOS TO YOU! THANK YOU... You definitely have a new subscriber. My Daughter was diagnosed with cancer two months ago at the height of the pandemic, one of her regrets was not learning to sew. I want to make her dream come true. Your the first person who gave us a sense of clarity into the world of sewing. Please continue to teach us how to use the sewing machine. Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge.

Just got one of these machines--it's great to have a video that does more than just the very basics! If anyone is interested, it would be really great to have a video with a very simple project that uses a lot of the functions--maybe an Alzheimer's 'fidget quilt' that you can do following the video. You could go over buttons and button holes, zippers, straight sewing, simple quilting, appliqué and it can be done with leftovers that most people who sew would already have. Anyway, thanks for this video--it helped me a lot!

Ok, your video was SUPER AWESOME!!! Ok, I don't want a Bernina anymore. I want an M7 Continental !!! because of the jam-proof and the feed dog system. Everything you did just sold me!!!!!!! Now I have to start saving for this sewing machine!!! Wow! you did such an AMAZING REVIEW!!! Had to subscribe!!!!

While some great features for quilting, would not give up free arm for cuffs if you do any garment sewing . Staying with a 9450, so can stay in existing cabinet. Janome has great features, stitch quality and accessories for most of there machines. I have been sewing on them for over 40 years and have hardly ever had any issues with any of their machines.

R Moore I am an exclusive garment maker. I sew my sleeves on the serger, and I do all of my hemming and cuff work on my cover stitch machine. Do not see that a free arm is necessary at all. Also, even with a free arm, you can’t get baby (and most toddler cuffs) on them anyway.

The corded button hole. You don't snip at both ends of the hole. You actually pull one of the tails to pull the loop down to the hole and then snip the two cords.

I just bought an expensive Janome. Try finding a simple tutorial "anywhere" actually demonstrating things like how to sew using the angle markings on the needle plate! I am so frustrated. Retailers cold sell more if they made more videos on the finer things of a machine instead of using basic feet that have tutorials everywhere. I don't want to see pictures pointing to lines and marks, just how to use them. Thanks for listening, I hope.

Yes I just bought one, August 2020, still not a lot of how to videos out there. A lot of out of the box and showing features but not actual demos with tips, tricks, and ideas. Also hard to know what accessories are available for it. I love the machine but really want to learn more!

Maybe it’s too late to answer your questions, but I think the best bet would be to join the continental M7 Facebook group. Lots of material is covered there.

Hi Chris. I really really like everything about this continental m7 but I do have a question please. I have a Janome mc9400 which I do like very much. I make a lot of bags, backpacks and such some clothes but very very little piecing for quilts. What I would like to know with what I use my machine for would I get a lot more power out of the M7 compared to the 9400? In other words yes I know the size and all but features and power is there a huge difference. Thanks for your video, it's great and thorough.

I have just picked mine up today and I have only seen them demonstrated on video. At the slowest speed it sounds like it’s making a whirring noise, is that normal, could you add a short video demonstrating how the machine sounds at different speeds. It’s very difficult when you can’t buy one in the immediate area you live in and have to travel to get it.

I bought this machine. I was excited about having and using it. I’m disappointed. It does not sew smoothly. The needle threader is cheap, something you would see on a $200 machine. You would expect higher quality when you pay over $6k.

Either you work for a competing sewing machine company or you’re an idiot who is incapable of watching a simple video and understanding it. He put the threads in there himself!!!!! He did it to show how this machine won’t clog up like others do. Jeez. Get a clue. And you completely missed all the tons of feet including ruler feet. Watch another M7 video where they show all the feet in detail and show how this machine makes using rulers for quilting so easy.
